After Shi Yu went out, he asked Chi Yan for the specific location, and Chi Yan casually sent it to him.

In less than five minutes, there was a knock on Chi Yan’s door. Chi Yan, wearing pajamas and with wet hair, opened the door, and a faint orchid fragrance filled the air.

Shi Yu said nothing and skillfully took the bath towel from Chi Yan’s hand, carefully drying her hair.Full novel: Possessed an Aristocratic Young Lady? I’ll Still Crush Her as an Ordinary Girl — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Chi Yan walked to the sofa, and Shi Yu followed while continuing to dry her hair.

The tabletop beside the sofa was neatly arranged—apart from a notebook, a few tea sets, and a hair dryer, there was nothing else.

Chi Yan leaned against the sofa and said, “It hasn’t been long since the engagement banquet. Missing me so soon?”

“Yeah, I missed you,” Shi Yu replied unhurriedly.

Chi Yan lazily yawned. “Isn’t there anything you want to ask?”

Shi Yu’s hand, which was drying her hair, paused for a moment, and he said, “Why didn’t you tell me right away?”

“Mm, that’s what this is about,” Chi Yan touched her nose and said guiltily, “I… forgot.”

Shi Yu sighed softly, placed the bath towel on the sofa, picked up the cordless hair dryer from the table, and helped Chi Yan dry her hair. After a few seconds of silence, he pleaded, “Next time, no matter what happens, tell me right away, okay?”

The sound of the hair dryer was very soft, barely covering the sound of breathing.

Chi Yan opened her mouth. She hadn’t expected something so absurd, and Shi Yu’s ability to accept it was quite fast.

“Hm? You want there to be a next time that badly?” Chi Yan leaned closer to Shi Yu and asked in return.

“Of course not…” Shi Yu realized he had said the wrong thing and hurried to explain.

Chi Yan directly raised her index finger to block his mouth and said, “Alright, I got it. If there really is a next time, I’ll consider it.”

Chi Yan withdrew her hand, and Shi Yu pressed his lips together and focused on drying her hair.

At that moment, Han Shu called Chi Yan via voice call.

Her hair was almost dry. Shi Yu put down the hair dryer and, staring at the contact name “Tool Man No. 1,” raised an eyebrow.

Chi Yan answered the call.

“Sister Chi, this is bad. Your reputation is about to be ruined,” Han Shu said in a panic.

Han Shu’s voice was a bit piercing, breaking the quiet of the room.

Chi Yan rubbed her ear and said, “Isn’t it a good thing when a bad reputation gets ruined?”

Han Shu: “…”

Shi Yu tapped the table and reminded, “Watch what you say.”

Hearing Shi Yu’s voice, Han Shu became a bit more reserved. “Brother Yu, you’re there too.”

“Yeah,” Shi Yu responded.

“What exactly happened? If you don’t say, I’m hanging up,” Chi Yan urged.

“Ah no, I mean your reputation in the biology world.”

Chi Yan looked up, a trace of interest rising. “Oh? What does the fake me want to do?”

“I only heard it because I happened to pass by,” Han Shu paused and continued, “The president of S University wants to invite you to give a speech, but that fake said a few words to the air, and in the end she probably agreed.”

“Alright, I got it.” Chi Yan hung up the phone, the corners of her mouth lifting slightly.

The System in the fake Chi Yan’s hands sounded like it had something to it.

Shi Yu’s clenched fist tightened, and he took out his phone and dialed a string of numbers.

Chi Yan casually helped hang it up. She remembered that it was the private number of the president of S University.

Shi Yu didn’t understand. “Why?”

“How could such a good show be canceled just like that?”

The girl narrowed her peach-blossom eyes and smiled at Shi Yu, her loose hair giving her a more approachable air.

Chi Yan picked up the teacup on the table and took a gentle sip, her reflection mirrored in the tea.
