Volume 1 Chapter 2: Mianmian’s Tragic Death, Avenge Mianmian!
After three years of marriage, Song Jingmian still felt unfamiliar with their marital bedroom.
She had never once stepped inside this room.
The Bo family villa was large, and she had walked through every corner of it.
Except here.
From the very beginning, this marriage had been arranged to save the Bai family from crisis. She hadn’t even known who Bo Jingci was.
Even if they couldn’t be a loving couple, she had hoped they could at least treat each other with respect.
But she never expected that after the wedding, Bo Jingci would develop an insane, possessive obsession with her.
He never allowed her to go out alone. She loved acting, but he couldn’t bear to see her get close to other men, nor would he tolerate any male presence around her.
Even the few dogs kept at home were all female.
He would always say, “Be good, Mianmian. I don’t need you to do anything. Just stay obediently by my side, and we’ll never be apart.”
Then, he would devoutly kiss her forehead.
Back then, Song Jingmian had found it disgusting. She despised his crazy, almost paranoid possessiveness.
He claimed to care for her, yet he wouldn’t even let her pursue what she loved most.
She hated this suffocating kind of love.
.
Her thoughts returned to the present.
In the marital bedroom, private doctors had come and gone, tending to all his injuries before leaving.
While treating the wounds on Bo Jingci’s hands, Gu Tingyu noticed he was clutching a jade pendant tightly, never letting go for a moment.
As a close friend, Gu Tingyu naturally recognized it as belonging to that woman, Song Jingmian.
Before leaving, Gu Tingyu gave his brother a deep look and sighed almost imperceptibly.
Song Jingmian, drifting in the air, turned her head away when she saw his injured hands, fighting back the urge to cry.
“Xiao Zhang, make sure your master rests when he wakes up. Don’t let him go out again.”
He knew that even with this instruction, Bo Jingci wouldn’t listen afterward.
He truly couldn’t understand how that woman, as lifeless and emotionless as a puppet, had managed to capture his brother’s heart.
Shaking his head helplessly, he left the scene.
Not long after Gu Tingyu left, Bo Jingci woke up.
His eyes opened slowly, their dark pupils devoid of any emotion, as if tempered with ice. His sharp gaze fixed on a point in the distance, like a wolf in the dark night—fierce and ruthless.
Seeing him awake, Xiao Zhang let out a sigh of relief.
“Young Master…”
But the man paid no attention. Instead, he suddenly lowered his head and stared at the jade pendant in his hand, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
“Have you found Mianmian?”
Bo Jingci hadn’t rested in a long time. He had been searching for her day and night, his body exhausted to the point of collapse. His eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was hoarse and terrifying.
Xiao Zhang took a deep breath, closed his eyes for a moment, and decided to tell the truth.
“We didn’t find Madam near the mudslide area.”
His voice carried a hint of a sob as he spoke.
Although he didn’t particularly like that woman, she was his master’s life. Even though she was usually cold, she treated everyone in the villa with kindness.
It was tragic that she had died so miserably…
“We found the clothes Madam was wearing that day at the foot of the mountain.”
Even though he had witnessed many brutal scenes, he still couldn’t bring himself to say it outright.
“Go on.”
The man’s voice was cold and filled with menace.
“It’s… it’s just the clothes left…”
He forced down the sour ache in his throat, his Adam’s apple bobbing slightly. “When our people arrived, they only saw a corner of Madam’s clothing… nothing else remained, just a few scattered bones nearby… That area is often frequented by wild beasts…”
“Madam… Madam is already…”
Xiao Zhang couldn’t continue. When he looked up at his master, he saw a crystal-clear tear tracing down the corner of his eye, falling precisely onto the jade pendant he treasured most.
It was the last keepsake she had left him.
Bo Jingci wept silently.
Xiao Zhang had followed Bo Jingci since childhood and had never seen him like this.
Clutching the jade pendant tightly in his hand, the freshly bandaged wound began to bleed again. His body trembled uncontrollably, tears falling one after another.
After what felt like an eternity, Xiao Zhang finally heard his trembling voice. Looking up, he met Bo Jingci’s eyes, filled with agony and ruthless determination.
“Find out the truth.”
Song Jingmian watched the scene of Bo Jingci holding her jade pendant in anguish, unable to hold back her tears any longer.
She walked over and reached out to embrace the weeping Bo Jingci, but unfortunately, the man showed no sign of sensing her presence. He still bit his lower lip tightly, his forehead already covered in a fine layer of sweat.
He was desperately trying to endure his pain.
Bai Sisi was currently hosting a party in a private room.
Song Jingmian’s death was something worth celebrating.
No one knew she had lured her to that place.
And she had laid the trap well in advance.
No matter what, it would never be traced back to her.
“Sisi, have a few drinks?” The male model had a fiery physique, wearing only a pair of shorts, leaning in to seduce the woman before him.
“Sure.” She smiled, stroking the male model’s face. This scene reminded her of the countless times she had traced her fingers over that woman’s delicate features.
A profound sense of satisfaction and pleasure filled her heart.
Just as she was about to take the next step, the door to the private room suddenly burst open. Several men in black rushed in and immediately surrounded them.
After restraining the male models, Xiao Zhang approached Bai Sisi, a cold smirk curling his lips as he issued the order.
“Take her away.”
In the dark, damp basement, Bo Jingci sat coldly on the main seat, looking down with disdain at the bound woman before him.
After a moment, a chilling and authoritative voice rang out.
“Splash her awake.”
The men beside him received the command and nodded. “Yes!”
A bucket of water was poured over Bai Sisi, and she gradually regained consciousness.
She struggled to open her eyes, feeling the restraints on her hands and feet, momentarily confused.
When she looked up, the man she had longed for day and night was sitting coldly before her, his gaze filled with contempt and mockery.
Suddenly, it dawned on her.
She had been in the private room of the clubhouse when a group of men in black inexplicably stormed in. Before she could react, she had been knocked unconscious.
And now, she had awakened to this scene.
Panic seized her, but after a moment, she forced herself to remain calm.
Impossible, there was no way it could be traced back to her!
“Brother-in-law… what is this…”
The man lifted his gaze, staring directly at her.
Bo Jingci had a perfect face—deep-set features, sharp contours, a high nose bridge, and a clear, smooth jawline. His thin lips were perpetually pressed together, exuding an inexplicable sense of pressure. But the most captivating part of him was his eyes—narrow and well-shaped, sharp and alluring, yet filled with aggression.
Enough to make one willingly drown in them.
The man suddenly curled his lips into a smile, and Bai Sisi inexplicably blushed.
“Brother-in-law?” he suddenly spoke with a mocking tone.
Then the man took out a sharp knife, slowly walked up to her, and carefully caressed it.
Suddenly, the tip of the knife pressed against her chin. The man curled his lips into a bloodthirsty smile, like a vampire in the dark night.
Enchanting yet full of danger.
He slowly cut one slash after another across Bai Sisi’s face, ignoring her screams and struggles, the blade falling repeatedly on her face… her neck…
Watching the red blood vessels covering her face and the blood continuously gushing out, pooling on the floor, his eyes finally turned red.
“You don’t deserve to call me that,” he said coldly.
Bo Jingci looked at the blood-soaked knife in his hand with contempt, disdainfully tossing it to the ground.
He then turned and gave an order: “Make her drink it.”
Soon after, two men in black entered.
Seeing the two men before her, Bai Sisi widened her eyes in terror, her face filled with disbelief!
How could it be these two!
Hadn’t she already paid them to escape?!
Before she could react, one man restrained her while the other gripped her chin, forcing her to drink the contents of the bowl.
After drinking it, she found she could no longer speak, and her body became unbearably itchy.
She struggled desperately, whimpering, but could not make a sound, leaving only her fierce eyes fixed unwaveringly on Bo Jingci.
Bo Jingci suddenly smiled, but it was chilling.
He then took the handkerchief handed by Xiao Zhang and leisurely wiped the blood from his hands. The veins on his arms stood out, long and bony.
They were a pair of fine hands.
But he had no mind to appreciate them, nor did he pay any attention to Bai Sisi’s struggles and whimpers.
A moment later, his slender hand casually tossed the handkerchief away. Without sparing her even a glance, he strode out of the basement on his long legs, leaving behind a single command.
“Take care of her.”
