Stepping out of her own room, Su Su began to inspect the other changes in the inn.

First, she went to the bathroom. Upon pushing the door open, the first thing she saw was the washbasin.

The basin, which was originally only fifty centimeters wide, now extended thirty centimeters to both the left and right, becoming two identical washbasins positioned side-by-side. On either side of the basins, white cloth curtains had appeared, labeled “Men” and “Women” respectively.Full novel: Post-Apocalyptic Sea Survival: Managing a Lighthouse Resort — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The number of toilet stalls had also increased accordingly to four, with two on each side.

With the bathroom upgrade, Su Su faced a new problem. Now that the bathroom was separated by gender, the shower unit could no longer be placed as it was.

It seemed she needed to put a dedicated shower room on the agenda.

Leaving the bathroom, Su Su went to the adjacent staff quarters. She found that, aside from the furniture and decor being slightly newer, there were no significant changes. Since she had no plans to hire staff yet, she quickly retreated.

Upon reaching the newly added rooms, Su Su discovered that besides more single rooms like the ones before, there were now two larger double rooms.

The double rooms were about ten square meters. Compared to the single rooms, they featured an extra single bed, a bedside table between the two beds, and a wardrobe against the wall. Other than that, the differences were minimal, and they still lacked private bathrooms.

After completing a full circuit of the floor, Su Su pulled up the system. She found that she now had four single rooms, two double rooms, and one communal dormitory.

The rooms were numbered 101 through 106. Rooms 101 to 104 were single rooms, while 105 and 106 were double rooms. As for the communal dormitory, its room number was -001.

Another communal dormitory could be added, but it would cost five hundred points. As someone currently “dirt poor,” she immediately abandoned that idea.

She needed to save her points to buy a food vending machine.

After reaching Level 1, the inn’s food options were finally no longer limited to just steamed buns and water. However, the incubator could only sell two items. If she wanted to increase the variety, she would have to switch to other sales equipment.

But that didn’t stop her from eating well herself!

The food and drink options available for Su Su to choose from instantly expanded to include white porridge, meat buns, milk, mixed noodles, and tomato and egg rice bowls.

Looking at the virtual display in her mind, her mouth began to water; she had been eating “clean” for several days now.

Regardless of whether customers would arrive soon, she returned to the cashier counter and directly ordered a meat bun, a cup of milk, and a portion of tomato and egg rice from the system.

After the upgrade, the cashier counter had also undergone significant changes. Originally, it was just a simple, straight counter that was completely hollow beneath the top surface.

But things were different now. The upgraded counter was sealed on the left side, and a small door had been added on the right for increased privacy. The countertop itself had also changed, featuring a tiered, staggered design.

The surfaces on both sides were higher, perfect for customers to stand at, while the middle section was twenty-five centimeters lower, making it more suitable for her to sit, work, and observe the guests coming and going in the lobby.

She placed the point exchanger and the incubator on the high platforms on either side of her seat, while the steaming, fragrant food was set directly in front of her.

The meat bun was roughly the size of an adult man’s fist. Su Su picked it up and took a bite; the savory meat juice immediately flowed into her mouth along with the warm, soft dough, filling her senses with flavor.

The milk was served in a disposable paper cup of about 200ml, the milky-white liquid emitting a faint, sweet aroma.

She took a sip and squinted her eyes in satisfaction.

The tomato and egg rice was even better. Tender, silky eggs were coated in a thick, savory red sauce, served over white rice—it was a timeless delicacy.

After Su Su finished eating everything in a trance of bliss, she leaned back against her chair, patting her rounded belly with satisfaction.

After being here for a few days, she was finally living a normal life.

She lazily opened her eyes, only to find the front of the cashier counter crowded with customers who looked like they were going crazy from hunger.

Their mouths were slightly agape, and their eyes were practically glowing green.

“What are you doing?”

Su Su instinctively leaned back in alarm.

“Boss, don’t… don’t be afraid. We don’t have any ulterior motives. We just wanted to ask… is this food for sale?”

As the captain, once Yang Dong had confirmed the inn was real, he had quickly led his people back to the boat to inform the crew remaining there about the lighthouse.

Needless to say, with their supplies almost exhausted, they had no choice but to come to the inn.

Almost everyone on this boat was an ordinary person. They packed up their remaining belongings, shouldered their bags, followed the captain onto the lighthouse, and entered the inn.

The moment they walked through the door, they were stunned.

This… this boss was actually eating so much by herself, and there was meat, milk, and eggs.

Since the global oceanization, most vegetable and grain cultivation relied on artificially developed “new land” made primarily from the carcasses of sea monsters. Only a small fraction of people could enjoy vegetables and grains produced through primitive farming methods using special abilities.

The surviving animals were only enough to meet the needs of a tiny minority; the “dairy” products most people could buy were mostly nutritional fluids synthesized from sea monsters.

But looking at the blissful expression of the innkeeper as she ate, and smelling the aroma of the meal lingering in the air…

It was clear that the things the boss was eating were real food, not sea monster synthetics.

The group had been hungry for days. No one was willing to leave, so they stood there watching as the boss finished every last bite.

The crowd’s emotions were complicated—half envy, half jealousy.

Only after the boss finished her meal did they have a chance to speak.

“No, but the inn has water and steamed buns for sale. It’s all written on the notice board, please read it yourselves.”

Hearing Su Su’s answer, the group felt a flash of disappointment, which quickly faded. After all, natural food was a rare luxury with a high price tag; given their financial situation, they probably couldn’t afford it even if it were for sale.

After the crew members read the information on the notice board, the remaining few who hadn’t made cards yet impatiently registered for membership.

Then, each of them bought three bottles of water and three steamed buns, and they also purchased quite a few items from the automatic vending machines.

By the time they finished their shopping, Su Su’s pitiful balance of one hundred points had broken through the thousand mark, reaching one thousand one hundred points.

As soon as the points arrived, Su Su immediately purchased a separate shower room. The next second, a door appeared next to the bathroom with a small sign hanging above it: Bathhouse.

Inside the bathhouse were separate changing rooms and showers. However, they were currently in their initial state with only one of each; adding more would require spending points for an upgrade.

Being able to shower was good enough; she couldn’t ask for too much.

As for the extra shower unit she had bought previously, since it didn’t match the current bathhouse setup, she installed it directly into one of the double rooms.

The base price for a double room was eighteen points per night, but if the room was redesigned and renovated, the price would be adjusted based on the conditions.

Su Su thought about it and decided to choose one double room to serve as the inn’s first “luxury” room.

Subtracting the five hundred points for the bathhouse, she had six hundred points left in her account.

She selected “Interior Decoration” on the system interface, and the various parts of the inn quickly appeared before her eyes. After selecting the double room, the interface screen instantly shifted.

A simple, small double room appeared before her, and everything inside became selectable.

Su Su first selected “Ensuite Bathroom.” Soon, a dense array of bathrooms in different styles and prices appeared. She checked the costs and chose a low-cost basic model without a shower unit.

The next second, a square bathroom appeared before her.

Just like a construction simulation game, Su Su dragged the bathroom and placed it to the right of the room door.

Two hundred points were deducted, and a sliding frosted glass door instantly appeared on the originally blank wall of the room.

The perspective shifted inside the bathroom. Su Su found that while it wasn’t large, it had a simple dry-wet separation design. Aside from the missing shower unit, it had a toilet, a washbasin, and a mirror.

She took the spare shower unit from the system’s storage, and an option to install it immediately appeared on the blank tiles of the bathroom wall.

Su Su didn’t hesitate and clicked “Yes.”
