Su Su had no idea what a stir her actions had caused on the first basement level.

The basement corridor was not wide. A guest had just stepped out of their room to use the bathroom, scratching their head as they walked, only to freeze in place after a single step.

The man blinked several times, quickly backed up a step, and turned his head with an expression of pure shock.Full novel: Post-Apocalyptic Sea Survival: Managing a Lighthouse Resort — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He discovered that on the previously bare wall opposite him, a door identical to the one in his own room had abruptly appeared. Above the door hung a room number plate: No. -002.

Wait, he remembered that when he had come out an hour ago, there was no door there.

His scalp went numb with shock. Forgetting all about the bathroom, he immediately turned around and scrambled back into Room -001.

Meanwhile, in the hotel lobby, Su Su discovered with frustration that despite purchasing the new dormitory room, the count for basic infrastructure had not increased.

“System, this mission of yours is too inhumane. I spent so many points, yet the infrastructure count doesn’t go up. There is only a limited amount of infrastructure in the mall; doesn’t that mean I won’t be able to add any more later even if I want to?”

While the infrastructure in the mall was expensive, the quantities were limited. Following the current upgrade requirements, she would eventually buy them all. At that point, the upgrade missions would become a major problem unless the requirements changed.

[Host, there is nothing I can do. According to the regulations, each type of basic infrastructure only counts once, regardless of how it is upgraded later. But don’t be so discouraged; as the hotel levels up, corresponding infrastructure will be unlocked in the mall. There will never be a situation where you cannot upgrade.]

The system explained in a low voice, then suddenly thought of something and raised its volume.

[Right, Host! You can choose to upgrade the bathhouse. It is also a piece of infrastructure; you just need to complete the remaining parts.]

“The bathhouse?”

After the system’s explanation, Su Su realized that the current bathhouse was merely a half-finished product. To complete the infrastructure mission, she needed to spend more points.

To become a “true” bathhouse, it needed at least two changing rooms and two shower rooms. Su Su spent another five hundred points to purchase an additional shower room and merged it into the existing bathhouse.

Soon, the bathhouse underwent a significant transformation.

Pushing open the door to the bathhouse, a narrow vestibule of only three or four square meters appeared. To the left and right of the vestibule were doors. Entering a door revealed a changing room first, which then led through an internal door into the shower area.

“There are already two changing rooms and shower rooms. Why hasn’t the mission count increased yet?”

Su Su stood inside the bathhouse for a while, realizing the data behind the system mission had not changed at all.

[Host, it only counts as completed once the bathhouse is detached from the hotel.]

“Detached?”

Su Su was stunned by the system’s words. The entire lighthouse was only so big; if the bathhouse was detached from the hotel, where was she supposed to put it?

Besides, why detach a perfectly good bathhouse?

[Exactly. How can a normally functioning bathhouse occupy hotel space? Would the Host like to spend one thousand points to detach the bathhouse from the hotel?]

“…”

Su Su wanted to howl; Su Su wanted to hit someone.

She had worked so hard to save three thousand points. She had already spent one thousand, and now she had to spend another thousand just to complete one piece of infrastructure.

If things continued like this, would she need tens of thousands of points for a single piece of infrastructure in the future?

However, she was stuck. If she didn’t continue, she couldn’t complete the mission.

Su Su gritted her teeth, and the points in her account instantly decreased by another thousand.

Then, she was surprised to find that the scene before her eyes had changed.

The previously small vestibule instantly doubled in size. Directly ahead was a small checkout counter. Behind the counter stood a wall of glass cabinets, currently empty, waiting for items to be placed inside.

To the left and right of the entrance, near the walls, were wooden benches, looking like a place for guests to rest and wait.

On the ceiling, fans spun silently. Clearly, the bathhouse was still part of the hotel’s utilities, as the range of the central fan included it.

The changes were significant. Su Su curiously walked into the changing rooms and showers, finding that the changes inside were even greater. The two previously tiny spaces had expanded several times over. The single lockers had become four lockers joined together. Correspondingly, the number of showerheads in the shower room had increased to four, which could be turned into individual stalls by pulling the shower curtains.

The changing rooms and showers on both sides were identical. After a brief tour, Su Su returned to the bathhouse lobby.

After another look around, she finally noticed something strange.

The original wooden door had turned into double glass doors. What was odd was that the view through the glass wasn’t the hotel lobby; instead, it was a small patch of concrete ground and a mottled, rotting fence that looked like it could collapse at any moment. Looking further ahead, there was the endless blue sea.

Had she… left the hotel and come out onto the lighthouse platform?

Surprised, Su Su quickly pushed the door open and walked out. She walked to the edge of the lighthouse and looked around, discovering that her current position was on the left side of the lighthouse—right next to the main building, yet not entirely part of it.

It was a single-story building less than three meters high. Above the transparent glass door in the gray-white concrete wall, there was a blank signboard.

While Su Su was puzzled, the system’s cheerful voice suddenly rang out.

[Congratulations to the Host for unlocking a special mission: Operate a second shop on the lighthouse besides the hotel.]

[In the sweltering summer, who wouldn’t want to take a comfortable bath before going to sleep? Please hire a bathhouse employee as soon as possible to get the bathhouse up and running.]

Su Su was speechless. Her hotel wasn’t even doing that great yet, and now she had to open a bathhouse. Did the system think she was a wealthy lady?

Anyway, the planned infrastructure increase was complete. As for opening the bathhouse, she would deal with that later. After a brief look around, she left.

Walking a short distance around the lighthouse platform, she reached the drying area she had planned earlier. Because she had put up a notice, the drying racks now held more than just her own hangers; there were several hangers that clearly belonged to the guests.

A gentle sea breeze blew. Clothes of various colors emitted the scent of laundry detergent, fluttering lightly in the dazzling sunlight with the wind. The surroundings were quiet, save for the sound of the wind. Su Su thought that putting a few rocking chairs here would be quite nice.

Without hesitation, Su Su immediately spent ten points to buy an exclusive rocking chair for herself, placing it at the back of the lighthouse, right next to the drying area.

Then, she stuck a piece of paper on the rocking chair:

Proprietor’s exclusive. Others, do not touch.

Perfect.

Su Su sat down contentedly, lifted her heels, and the whole chair began to rock gently.

She rocked for five minutes. If it weren’t for the fact that the shop was open, she would have sat there for at least an hour.

Reluctantly leaving the rocking chair, Su Su stood up and returned to the hotel.
