“Boss, is there only one room left?”
Yu Xin’s expression was sour, but he still questioned Su Su with forced politeness.
Yu Xin had regained his senses somewhat from the moment Bai Bai went over to process her membership card. Seeing someone so anxious, he had felt a bit of relief at the time. Since he couldn’t quite figure out the Boss’s background, he figured it was fine to let someone else test the waters first. If something really went wrong, it would buy him time to escape.
He stood still and didn’t stop Bai Bai’s actions, but when he heard Su Su say there was only one room left, he could no longer keep his composure.
How could someone spend such a massive fortune to build a lighthouse only to open so few rooms?
By the time he wanted to speak up and stop her, it was too late. He watched helplessly as Bai Bai booked the final room and left without looking back.
“You’re wrong. There was one room left just a moment ago. Now, there are none.”
Su Su had never been fond of people like Yu Xin who harbored too many schemes, but as long as the other party didn’t provoke her, she was willing to turn a blind eye. Her only thought was that they shouldn’t interfere with her business.
“Closing time is approaching. If you don’t have anything you want to buy, you may leave.”
Su Su issued the order to leave at the appropriate time.
Having sat in the lobby all day, she was already exhausted and had no energy to stay in the hall with these people.
Yu Xin glanced at the business hours on the notice board; it was indeed almost time.
The lighthouse wasn’t going to run away, anyway. Since someone else was in a hurry, he would let her test whether this place was real or fake.
As for Qiao He…
Yu Xin lowered his eyelids, his expression unreadable.
“Then we won’t disturb the Boss any longer. We will return tomorrow.”
“Alright.”
Yu Xin called the other two over, and the three of them quickly left the hotel.
Su Su let out a massive yawn and stood up to close the door.
As she locked up and turned back, Qiao He, who had been in the bathroom all this time, finally emerged.
Her short black hair was neat and sharp, and her lean, powerful waist was striking under her tight black short-sleeved shirt; one look was enough to tell she was a trained fighter.
Sensing Su Su’s gaze, Qiao He looked over, and her refreshed expression immediately turned into one of excitement.
“Boss, your shop is amazing! I haven’t had such a satisfying shower in ages.”
“Come, come, let me renew my room for another week.”
After watching Qiao He renew her stay and head back to her room, Su Su prepared to go to sleep as well.
The lights in the entire hotel were set to turn on and off automatically. When no one was in the lobby, the lights would dim on their own. Of course, there were still manual switches in the rooms to meet the guests’ needs.
She walked to the door of the staff quarters and was about to open it when a violent, urgent pounding suddenly erupted from the previously quiet exterior door.
“Boss! Boss, please open the door!”
The iron door was being slammed so hard it rattled. Fortunately, the room’s soundproofing was excellent, so it wouldn’t disturb the other staying guests.
Su Su frowned, walking to the door with great irritation.
“Business hours are over. Come back tomorrow after nine o’clock.”
Su Su didn’t even reach for the handle, having no intention of opening the door.
“Boss, I beg you! We really have an urgent matter and need to get inside. Please, make an exception.”
Yu Xin was breaking out in a cold sweat. He never could have imagined that an S-class sea monster would appear on the surface of the sea tonight in such a remote area.
Just as they had left the hotel and returned to their boat, they heard a roar coming from the distance.
The massive sonic wave generated by that sound caused the nearby sea surface to churn violently. Their tiny yacht was like a leaf, rising and falling with the waves. If it hadn’t been tethered by iron chains, the yacht would have capsized several times already.
At that moment, none of them would have survived.
Only one thought remained in Yu Xin’s mind: the lighthouse.
If the lighthouse was truly built by those powerful figures, it could definitely withstand the attack of an S-class sea beast.
He acted as if he were possessed, ignoring the shouts of those behind him as he raced away from the yacht at top speed. Seeing him run, Wang Xianchun and Liu Zai hurriedly followed.
And so, the group arrived at the hotel entrance once more, pounding on the door.
“All the rooms are occupied. Even if you come in now, there are no rooms for you.”
Since they were potential customers, Su Su endured her sleepiness to explain.
“Boss, it doesn’t matter! It doesn’t matter if we just stay in the lobby!”
Yu Xin only wanted to get inside now; as for where he would sleep, he had no time to consider that.
“System, do they count as guests if they stay in the lobby?”
Including the two who checked in today, there were only four guests in the entire hotel. If these people could be counted, wouldn’t the hotel upgrade faster?
“Host, normally they would not count. However, an S-class sea monster has appeared outside the lighthouse tonight, which could likely result in the death of these individuals. Therefore, they can be included this time. However, the room fee must still be paid as normal.”
Having received confirmation from the system, Su Su finally opened the door.
The moment the door opened, the three of them saw the hope of survival. They shoved and squeezed past each other to force their way into the hotel.
Once safely inside and the sound of the roaring, tiger-like waves vanished, the men finally relaxed. They couldn’t even speak, doing nothing but gasping for air.
“You can rest in the shop if you want, but each person needs to pay a ten-point accommodation fee. Furthermore, you are not allowed to disturb the other guests, nor are you allowed to disturb me.”
Even though she had let them in, Su Su felt that the formal rules could not be broken.
“Wait, Boss, this lobby of yours is shabby and has nothing in it. We’re just borrowing a place to stay for the night; isn’t ten points a bit much?”
After a moment of recovery, the fear of death that had been pressing against the back of their minds dissipated, and the men returned to their usual selves. Upon hearing Su Su’s words, Liu Zai immediately became displeased.
He wasn’t stupid. He remembered clearly that Bai Bai had only paid ten points for a single room. This hotel lobby was empty without even a chair, yet she wanted to charge them that much? Was this hotel Boss insane for money?
Regardless of what others said, Liu Zai didn’t want to spend a single point.
He didn’t believe it—there was only the Boss in this shop. Could she really handle the three of them?
At this thought, his confidence returned, and the look he gave Su Su became one of contempt.
Su Su didn’t speak; she simply looked at him and let out a cold laugh.
“System, there shouldn’t be a problem if I throw him out right now, right?”
Su Su wasn’t worried in the slightest. From the moment she bound with this system, it had told her more than once that she enjoyed absolute authority within the shop and had the right to decide who stayed or left.
If she encountered someone harboring ill intent toward her, the system could even counterattack directly.
—Of course. Since this person is so ungrateful, the Host should throw him out to feed the sharks.
The system stood firmly on the side of its Host.
