Just as Captain Han was about to reach the door, he stopped and said to the man leading the way, “Go inside and bring them out. I’ll give you three minutes.”

“If I don’t see them out after three minutes…”

He stopped mid-sentence and gave the man a deep look.Full novel: Pregnant and Unstoppable: She Stunned Everyone in the Military Compound — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A chill ran down the man’s spine. “Yes, yes, yes.”

Captain Han turned away without another word.

The man felt his scalp tingle and hurried to open the door and enter.

Inside, he saw Song Jinyue and Song Xiongguan lying on the ground as if asleep.

He glanced at both of them. “Comrades Song, you can get up now. Someone is here for you. There are leaders here to testify and prove that you have nothing to do with any capitalists.”

No response.

He raised his voice. “Comrades Song…”

Still no response.

He walked over to Song Xiongguan, crouched down, and softened his tone. “Comrade Song Xiongguan, the leaders are outside. Everything has been clarified. You can leave now.”

Seeing no reaction, he tried again, “Comrade Song…”

Song Xiongguan finally opened his eyes and met his gaze. “When we spoke to you last night, what did you say then?”

The man hurriedly apologized. “Yes, yes, it was our mistake. I apologize to you—and to your sister, Song Jinyue.”

As soon as the apology was spoken, Song Jinyue sat up from the ground. That was enough—there was no need to push further.

After all, these people hadn’t mistreated her and her brother much—just detained them and didn’t give them food.

Song Jinyue looked at the man. “Chen Weiming’s report counts as a false accusation, right?”

The man replied without hesitation, “Yes, it does.”

Song Jinyue smiled. “Then there should be punishment for false reporting, right?”

The man nodded repeatedly. “Yes, yes.”

“Good.”

Song Jinyue nodded and stood up.

Seeing his sister rise, Song Xiongguan quickly got up as well.

The two walked out and immediately saw a familiar face—Captain Han.

Behind him stood two police officers.

Captain Han also saw her and broke into a smile. “Comrade Song.”

Song Jinyue walked over quickly. “Captain Han.”

Song Xiongguan followed closely behind.

Noticing their resemblance, Captain Han hesitated for a moment before asking, “This is…?”

Song Jinyue immediately introduced him. “This is my older brother, Song Xiongguan.”

She then turned to her brother. “Brother, this is Captain Han from the Public Security Bureau.”

Surprised that his sister knew a police captain, Song Xiongguan still greeted politely, “Hello, Captain Han.”

Captain Han nodded. “Hello, Comrade Song.”

After the brief introductions, Captain Han suggested they leave the place before talking further.

Song Jinyue and Song Xiongguan both nodded.

Once outside, Captain Han asked what had happened—everything had been fine yesterday, so how had they ended up being reported overnight?

Song Jinyue gave a wry smile and explained everything.

Hearing that the siblings had spent the entire night detained, Captain Han’s first thought was that they hadn’t eaten breakfast.

After confirming they hadn’t, he immediately took them to eat.

Secretary Wei and Charles were still waiting for Song Jinyue.

After breakfast, Captain Han noticed that Song Jinyue was still wearing yesterday’s clothes. That wouldn’t do—she needed to go home and change.

Then—

Captain Han and his two subordinates rode bicycles, taking Song Jinyue and Song Xiongguan with them, rushing back to the residential compound.

As soon as they stopped at the entrance, Captain Han urged, “Quick, quick, go upstairs!”

The residents noticed the siblings returning and were about to greet them, but when they saw the police following behind, they froze.

By the time they reacted, the group had already rushed upstairs.

Song Jinyue led the way, with Song Xiongguan close behind, followed by Captain Han and the two officers.

She hurriedly unlocked the door.

The moment it opened—

A broken chair lay overturned on the floor. Old clothes were scattered everywhere.

Most importantly, the good furniture that had been in the living room—the table, chairs, and valuable items—were all gone.

Only piles of old clothes remained.

Song Jinyue frowned. “Brother, it looks like we’ve been robbed.”

Song Xiongguan was stunned. “Robbed?”

They had only been gone for one night—how could this…

Before he could finish the thought, Song Jinyue stepped aside, revealing the full scene.

Song Xiongguan fell silent. “This…”

Hearing that the house had been robbed, Captain Han’s expression immediately darkened.

He stepped forward to take a look, his face turning serious.

Song Xiongguan pressed his lips together, a flicker of cold understanding flashing in his eyes.

He looked at his sister. “Jinyue, go check your room.”

Song Jinyue nodded and quickly headed inside.

Her door was open. Clothes were scattered across the floor and bed, everything turned upside down.

Song Xiongguan checked his own room—his old clothes were left behind, but all the good ones were gone.

All the valuable items were gone too.

At that moment, he already had an answer.

Only that family could have done this.

First, they had the siblings detained.

Then, they finalized the divorce.

Finally, they took everything of value.

Every step had been carefully planned.

After confirming that the two thousand yuan she had hidden was still safe, Song Jinyue changed into clean clothes, tidied her hair, and stepped out.

She said to Captain Han, “Captain Han, we need to report this.”

“Of course!” he agreed immediately. “I’ll have my men investigate!”

Then he added, “Comrade Song, don’t worry about catching the thief—leave it to my men. Right now…”

He paused mid-sentence when he saw Song Xiongguan coming out with a grim expression. There were some things he shouldn’t say in front of him.

He stepped closer to Song Jinyue and lowered his voice. “Comrade Jinyue, Secretary Wei and Charles are still waiting for you. We need to go quickly.”

Song Jinyue agreed right away. “Alright.”

Seeing this, Song Xiongguan said, “Jinyue, go handle your matters with Captain Han. I’ll take care of things at home.”

Song Jinyue looked at her brother and nodded. “Okay.”

Captain Han took Song Jinyue and left.

Before leaving, he instructed his two subordinates, “I’ll take Comrade Song. You two stay here and investigate.”
