Karl took the book from Varek.
After clearing the table of the empty plates, Varek and Niam left the room, leaving only Karl alone.
The door closed.
Karl briefly looked at the battle that seemed endless on the stage and shook his head.
“Brutal.”
“I can’t afford to watch.”
He smacked his lips and lowered his head to read the book in his hand.
Varek had said the book spoke about various worlds, which meant that Earth might also be on the list.
Though Karl had no lingering affection toward Earth…
well, he wouldn’t even go back there if he was paid.
Not after he had started cultivating and starting to enjoy the feeling of being strong.
However, the thought of Thin and Bat at the charity base made him feel a little restless.
Those two kids…
even though they were a year older than Karl, had been really weak.
They were so weak that all the bullies in the charity base treated them like pushovers.
Karl’s initial plan was that he’d take them away from the charity base after he made enough money in the city.
He would hire a good therapist or psychiatrist for them and give them a good life.
After suffering for more than twenty-two years, they deserved everything the world had to offer.
But his plan had been ruined.
He had died.
He had left Thin and Bat alone, and there was no way he could return for them anymore.
Karl wondered if they were still living fine.
If they were now bold enough to tell the bullies off.
More than that, he wondered if they were still alive…
The bullies at the charity base were capable of anything.
Especially toward Thin and Bat, whom no one really cared about.
Karl closed his eyes and sighed heavily.
They were his only regret on Earth.
He opened the book.
Sure enough, the first page was about Salibion.
Salibion was a high world where the strongest experts lived.
After reading a few pages, Karl realized they were more or less the information he already knew about Salibion.
His eyes settled on Varek Dawnspire’s name and picture on the page.
His fingers twitched, tracing the outline of the picture.
“He’s so beautiful,” Karl mumbled.
A smile appeared in his eyes.
Karl had never seen anyone as good-looking as Varek in his life.
Perhaps that was because he had never left the charity base in his life…
But he wondered if such a person really existed; someone who could be more good-looking than Varek.
He shook his head.
“It’s impossible.
He’s the best in the world.” He grinned stupidly and opened the next page.
A Middle World…
No name.
The book’s writer stated that he hadn’t been privileged to enter the world before, but he found out that the world was slightly weaker than Salibion.
It was a world where many experts resided.
Karl read through the pages.
After seeing that the amount of information about the world was minimal, he skipped it altogether and opened it to the middle page.
Lower worlds.
There were countless lower worlds where lower-level experts could be found everywhere.
Unlike Salibion, where the weakest people were already in the Human Level, the lower worlds had a lot of experts who weren’t even cultivating at all.
Worse, these worlds were exceedingly dangerous.
The cultivation resources were minimal while the population was astounding.
The strong would always trample on the weak, making it harder for them to grow enough to become a threat.
It was like hell to the weak.
Karl shook his head.
He felt a little bad for the weak ones in those worlds.
How terrible must their lives be?
He continued reading.
To his surprise, the last worlds were the lower worlds.
After that, there were no more words.
The book ended.
Karl frowned.
“Where is Earth?” Wasn’t Earth part of the world, too?
None of the worlds in the book had any similarity to the Earth Karl knew about.
None at all.
He rubbed his brows and dropped the book.
“So, there are high worlds like Salibion.
Middle worlds and then lower worlds.”
“Could there also be higher worlds than?”
“Worlds that would be even stronger than Salibion.
Varek said no one in this world had ever been his opponent.
Could there be experts in that world who would make him feel less bored?”
Karl’s thoughts ran wild.
Varek seemed lonely.
Part of the reason must be because he felt too lonely, being the only one in the level in this world.
If he could find someone who could make him fight to the limit of his strength, wouldn’t that make him happy?
The thought stirred Karl’s heart.
He really wanted to find experts like that.
Experts who would give Varek’s life more meaning…
“But I’m too weak.
I can’t even find experts at my level.
How can I find experts at Varek’s level?”
He pinched his temple, feeling slightly down.
Karl kept the book in his space ring and closed his eyes.
Soon, he dozed off.
“Karl, take this!”
“Hahaha.
You’re too weak to catch it.”
“Karl, don’t mind them.
You’re already at your peak.
You’re strong.
Don’t mind him.”
“Strong?
Keep dreaming.
He’s still as weak as a rat!
Hahaha.”
“I can easily destroy him.”
He looked around him, realizing he was still in Varek’s private room.
He rubbed his face and yawned.
“That was a stupid dream.”
The dream had no sequence.
Only voices.
Karl felt a little frustrated.
He really wanted to help Varek…
The door opened.
Varek walked in.
“Are you okay?” He asked, looking at Karl’s slightly pale face.
Karl waved his hand.
“I’m fine.
Just a ridiculous nightmare.”
“Nightmare?”
“Hm.
Some people were calling me weak and all.
Another one was praising me for being a Foundation Level expert.
It’s messy and ridiculous.”
Varek stared at him.
His gaze lingered on Karl.
He smiled faintly and reached out.
“Let’s go home.”
Karl nodded.
“Yes.
It’s evening already.
I need to practice more before night.”
“Alright.”
Varek entered the space with Karl.
The next moment, they appeared in Varek’s room.
Varek released Karl’s hand and stepped forward.
“I’m going to take a bath.”
Karl’s eyes widened.
“Can I join you?”
Varek paused.
His eyes flickered.
Karl stepped forward.
He reached out and took Varek’s hand.
“Can I join you?” He asked again.
Varek lowered his eyes to Karl.
His expression was unreadable.
“Next time.”
Karl chuckled.
“I was only kidding.” However, his eyes remained on Varek.
His thoughts were messy.
“Varek, I’ve thought about it.”
“I want to go to the lower world.”
