[3. The fertility rate of females within the tribe is significantly increased, and the gestation period is shortened to one month. Chief Logan can inherit all offspring occupational traits!]

[Note: As the only male in the tribe, the Chief must shoulder the heavy responsibility of spreading branches and scattering leaves!]

Logan froze where he stood.

This...

The system wanted him to repopulate the primitive world—with his female classmates?!

It even gave him a Super Kidney. How thoughtful of it!

To be fair, Logan wouldn’t technically mind, seeing as three of them were campus beauties and none of the other girls looked bad either. But the real problem was whether a group of young women still daydreaming about sweet high school romance could ever accept this!

By now, many of the girls had regained their composure.

Since they spent plenty of late nights reading web novels under their dormitory blankets, most of them—aside from their academic advisor, Teacher Chen—quickly accepted the reality of their transmigration.

Class president and Logan’s close confidante, Bai Nian, walked up to Logan with a grave expression.

"Logan, since the system chose you as Chief, I hope you take this responsibility seriously. I’ll do everything I can to help you manage the tribe!"

Once Bai Nian spoke up, a few girls whose swimwear had vanished stepped forward to back him up.

"Yeah, sports rep! We’ve got your back!"

"Logan-giegie, we’re counting on you from now on!"

As the sole guy in the class, Logan had always enjoyed a solid social standing among them. People often joked that women had countless layers of hidden thoughts; if another girl had been picked as leader, not everyone would have been happy.

Suddenly, Gu Xinran, the student with the most striking figure in the class, spoke up hesitantly.

"Wait... didn’t any of you check what our aura actually is?"

"Aura?"

"It sounded like some SSS-grade thing, right? Must be powerful. Teacher Chen was crying her eyes out over getting sucked into this right after securing her tenure, so we were all too busy comforting her..."

Logan scratched the back of his head. No wonder everyone’s reaction had been so mild; they hadn’t even looked at the panel!

He immediately pulled up the aura interface and displayed it for all the girls to see.

When those three aura effects materialized in front of them, the air practically froze.

Super Kidney?

Marrying wives?

Massive boost to fertility? A one-month gestation period?!

Inheriting offspring traits?!

*Boom!*

It felt like a massive bomb had gone off inside the minds of thirty-seven young women.

"Wh—what does this even mean?!"

"With... with him... having babies?"

"One month?! That’s faster than cats and dogs!"

"No way! I’m only twenty! I haven’t even been in a real relationship yet!"

"Wah... this is too much! What kind of crazy game rule is this?!"

Panic and sheer embarrassment instantly boiled over. Logan felt his scalp tingle.

"This—this is completely unacceptable!"

Teacher Chen stepped forward first, her face plastered with fierce resistance and the absolute responsibility of an educator.

"Logan, you... you can’t go along with this! They’re your students!"

Logan opened his mouth, his throat bone-dry. "Teacher Chen, this isn’t something I can control..."

He was just as miserable! This garbage system had roasted him directly over an open fire.

"Quiet down, everyone!"

At the critical moment, Bai Nian stepped up, her face unusually stern beneath her short haircut. She shot Logan a fierce glare before turning her attention to the panicking crowd.

"Is arguing about this going to change anything? These are the system’s rules! Can we fight them?"

Her words landed like a bucket of ice water. Exactly. Fight whom? How? That mysterious voice had echoed directly inside their skulls.

Bai Nian took a deep breath and pushed on.

"Right now, survival is priority number one! This aura is... well, it’s insane, but it’s obviously vital for building a tribe. We need to calm down and talk this through."

Her gaze swept over the group before landing squarely on Logan.

"Logan, step over there for a second. We need to talk among ourselves."

"Right! Get out of here!"

The girls quickly chimed in. Logan accepted his exile with immense relief, eager to escape the immediate firing line. Raising both hands in surrender, he backed away step by step, putting distance between himself and the storm center of thirty-seven distressed women in swimwear.

Left to himself, Logan walked over to an empty patch of dirt nearby.

A crude thatched hut sat there as if it had materialized out of thin air. It was remarkably primitive, built from rough timber and dry grass, looking like a strong gust of wind could knock it flat.

When he focused his gaze on the structure, a virtual panel popped up.

[Settlement 749 Main City: Thatched Hut (Level 1)]

[Level: 1]

[Function: Provides basic shelter, capacity 50 people.]

[Upgrade Requirements: Wood 100, Stone 100, Thatched Grass 50.]

[Current Status: Habitable.]

A circle of stones sat right outside the doorway, cradling a pile of dry branches.

[Tribal Fire: Unlit]

[Function: Provides light and warmth, wards off certain beasts, and can be used for cooking.]

[Lighting Requirements: Fire starter, wood.]

[Adding wood maintains the burn.]

A fire starter... another hurdle.

After checking the structures, Logan’s gaze drifted toward the quietest person on the beach.

The cold, striking woman in the black tactical wetsuit was still leaning against a boulder, watching everything like a detached ghost. She hadn’t uttered a single word or shown a shred of panic since they woke up.

Realizing she was technically stranded with his group too, Logan hesitated before walking over.

"Hi, I’m Logan. I’m the... Chief of this tribe."

The woman finally raised her head. She had a breathtaking face, but it looked carved from ice. She glanced at him indifferently and stayed silent.

Completely ignored.

Logan didn’t miss a beat. "You’re not from our university, right? What’s your name? What do you do?"

In an environment like this, gathering information on an unknown asset was always a smart play.

The woman remained silent for a few seconds, weighing her options. Finally, her voice matched her expression—sharp and freezing.

"Lin Bing. Ship’s nurse."

A nurse?

Logan’s eyes lit up. That was a premier asset! In the primitive wilderness, injuries and illnesses would be a constant threat. Having someone with medical training could save countless lives.

Before he could probe further, Bai Nian’s voice rang out from across the camp.

"Logan! Get back over here!"

Logan turned around to see that the girls had finished their private conference. They were standing together, still sporting heavy blushes, but they looked like they had reached some form of consensus.

He took a deep breath and walked back into the fray.

Thirty-seven pairs of complex eyes locked onto him. Bai Nian had been pushed to the front as their representative. She cleared her throat, looked him square in the eye, and spoke clearly.

"We’ve talked it over."

"Most of us have read web novels, especially male-lead progression stories. While your whole harem-system setup is ridiculous, we can kind of understand it."

Logan blinked. These girls adapted fast.

"However!" Bai Nian’s tone dropped into serious territory.

"We are living, breathing human beings, not characters in a book! We have our own thoughts and feelings."

She pointed back toward the group.

"Some of the girls here already have boyfriends back home. Others are traditional and can’t stomach this kind of... dynamic. We won’t tolerate you abusing your position as Chief to pull rank."

"That’s right! We aren’t your property!" another girl piped up.

"If you try anything shady, we’ll fight you!"

Faced with the fired-up group, Logan held up both hands in a placating gesture.

"I won’t! I swear!"

Bai Nian nodded, looking somewhat satisfied with his attitude.

"We also know that SSS-grade aura is critical for the tribe’s survival. We aren’t going to reject it purely out of personal pride."

She took a steadying breath and delivered their final verdict.

"So, we’ve decided on a principle of voluntary consent."

"Whoever wishes to... become your wife can step forward on their own accord."

"If someone says no, you are strictly forbidden from forcing them. Treat us like normal tribal members, lead us through the survival phase, and we’ll contribute our skills like everyone else. Can you agree to that?"

When Bai Nian finished, silence settled over the beach once more. Everyone stared at Logan, waiting for his move.

Voluntary consent?

Logan looked at the crowd. Some girls kept their eyes glued to the sand, while others crossed their arms defensively, peeking up at him with flushed faces. It was the absolute maximum concession they were willing to make.

Logan nodded solemnly.

"Deal."

With his promise secured, Bai Nian and many of the other girls visibly relaxed.

Bai Nian turned back to her classmates. "Alright... so, is there anyone willing?"

The girls glanced sideways at one another. Not a single person stepped forward.

Logan felt a slight twinge in his ego. He considered himself a solid eight out of ten; was his personal charm really that low? Did literally not a single girl here like him?

Then, the most serious girl in the group stepped out of the ranks.

Her face was burning bright red, the blush spreading all the way down to her pale collarbone. It was Bai Nian.

Following right behind her was another campus beauty—and Logan’s recent ex-girlfriend.

Chuyu Fei!

And stepping up third was their class study commissioner, a soft-spoken, bespectacled girl named Ye Xing’er.
