that guy has to be a devil!”

The white man muttered nervously to himself.

The car he was driving swayed across the road like a drunk staggering through a street.

Fortunately it was late at night and traffic was sparse—otherwise he would’ve crashed long ago.

“Police station?

N-no!

I’ve got illegal weapons on me—they’ll throw me straight into prison!

Where do I go?

Where do I go?

That monster said he’d come find me!”

As he drove in panic, sweat poured down his face.

The more he thought about it, the uglier his expression became.

“Shit!

Damn it!

God, why didn’t you protect me?!”

Completely oblivious to the fact that all of this was the result of his own actions, the man showed not a hint of remorse.

Instead, he blamed God.

“Wait…”

Suddenly his eyes lit up.

“The base!”

He remembered the organization that had ordered them to capture mutants.

“They’ve got tons of advanced weapons and elite guards there!

That guy definitely won’t dare come!

Plus there are mutants and superpowered people there.

They’ll definitely be interested in him.

Then I can earn even more money!”

The more he thought about it, the more brilliant it seemed.

Without hesitation, he spun the steering wheel and sped toward a coastline leading to a certain isolated island.

“Changed direction?

Looks like he’s heading toward his so-called ‘superiors.'”

Two kilometers behind him—

Separated by countless buildings and obstacles—

Alex walked leisurely.

Yet his eyes seemed to pierce through the distance itself, clearly observing the white man’s actions.

“Tch.

Your brain finally started working.”

Alex smiled lightly.

Then he stepped forward.

Whoosh.

His body instantly crossed over ten meters in a single movement, always maintaining a distance within two kilometers of the fleeing vehicle.

The Annihilation Eyes possessed the ability to consciously devour spiritual energy existing in both living beings and the atmosphere itself.

This permanently enhanced his physical abilities and healed injuries rapidly—even life-threatening wounds.

And when consuming enough spiritual energy—

His speed could become nearly equivalent to teleportation.

The white man thought driving a car could shake Alex off.

How adorable.

The truth was—

Alex had intentionally let him go from the beginning.

To Alex, humans were basically no different from monsters in a game.

The Annihilation Eyes could efficiently extract spiritual energy from them and strengthen him.

Still, Alex had principles.

He only killed people who brought it upon themselves.

The moment he’d heard the mercenaries mention higher-ups, Alex had already marked those people as prey.

After all—

Compared to hired thugs, the people giving the orders were the truly rotten ones.

Destroying them while increasing his own strength?

Why not?

So Alex simply used the white man as bait.

A fishing line.

And he intended to reel in the bigger fish.

“According to my anime experience from my previous life, organizations that capture mutants are usually doing experiments…”

“Wonder what kind of thing they’re trying to create.”

As he muttered this, Alex accelerated.

His body shot forward like an arrow.

Rapidly closing the distance.

Two hours later—

A tiny figure slowly appeared.

The little girl from before.

Panting while running, she concentrated hard on sensing something.

Then she suddenly determined Alex’s direction and hurried after him.

After driving all night and refueling several times, the white man finally reached the coast.

He stumbled out of the car in panic.

So panicked, in fact, that he forgot his weapon inside.

Near the shoreline stood a large dock filled with boats.

Soldiers equipped with advanced gear patrolled carefully around the perimeter.

Seeing the white man rush over, two soldiers immediately approached with guns aimed directly at his head.

“Restricted military zone.

Unauthorized personnel prohibited.”

“Here’s my ID!

I need to get to the island immediately!”

The white man hurriedly handed over his identification.

At the same time, he kept glancing behind him.

Terrified Alex would suddenly appear from the darkness.

The soldiers checked carefully.

“ID verified.

Access approved.”

Returning the card, they let him pass and radioed ahead to prepare a boat.

“Thank you!”

The white man finally sighed in relief after confirming nothing was following him.

Then he hurried toward the shore.

“I need to reach the island and explain everything!”

A boat had already been prepared.

He jumped in and quickly sped across the waves.

“Just like in anime…”

“Projects involving human experiments always seem to have government backing.”

One kilometer away from the dock, Alex stood calmly.

Not even slightly out of breath despite running all night.

“Guess I should get myself a boat too.”

“Can’t exactly swim across the ocean.”

The nearest port was dozens of kilometers away.

This was the closest option.

So naturally Alex wasn’t interested in taking the scenic route.

He slowly approached.

“Stop right there!”

A soldier raised his gun at him.

The others barely reacted.

Probably because Alex looked too young.

“Restricted military area.

Turn around and leave, kid.”

The soldier waved the gun threateningly.

Alex ignored him completely.

“I need a boat.”

“Mind lending me one?”

“Stop!

Stop now!”

The soldier suddenly sensed danger.

“Take another step and I’ll shoot!”

Alex smiled dismissively.

“That oversized lighter?”

“You think it can hurt me?”

“OPEN FIRE!”

The other soldiers reacted instantly.

Their orders were clear:

Kill all unauthorized intruders.

And they obeyed.

“RATATATATATATAT—!!!”

Over a dozen submachine guns roared.

Bullets formed dense walls of fire, raining toward Alex from every direction.

Alex merely smiled.

“I just wanted to borrow a boat…”

“But since you attacked first…”

“Don’t blame me.”

The crimson crosses appeared in his eyes.

Annihilation Eyes activated.

In an instant his body blurred.

Whoosh.

Like a phantom, he burst through the bullet storm unharmed.

Appearing beside one soldier instantly.

His hand landed directly atop the man’s head.

Seeing Alex get close, the others stopped firing to avoid friendly fire.

They surrounded him instead.

“Time to eat.”

Alex smiled.

The touched soldier instantly shattered into countless fragments—

And vanished into Alex’s eyes.

“He ate Kenny!!

Oh my God!”

“Open fire!

He’s not human!”

“Shoot!!”

These soldiers possessed stronger nerves than the white mercenary.

Though terrified—

They still fought.

“RATATATATAT—!!”

Machine guns screamed once more.

Bullets flew endlessly.

But it was meaningless.

“Why don’t you people ever learn?”

Alex sighed.

He lunged forward.

Buzz.

Another soldier disappeared.

The energy devoured by the Annihilation Eyes converted into pure power:

50% fed the eyes’ evolution30% stored within his body20% permanently strengthened his physique

Though twenty percent seemed small—

Years of accumulation had transformed Alex into something absurd.

Ordinary bullets couldn’t even pierce his skin anymore.

Against a monster like him—

These elite soldiers never stood a chance.

Alex charged casually through them.

And chaos followed.

“Buzz…”

“Buzz…”

“Buzz…”

One by one—

The soldiers disappeared.

Until the battlefield became silent.

Only shell casings, bullet marks, clothes, and weapons remained.

Alex licked his lips.

The crimson crosses in his eyes glowed even brighter.

“Seriously…”

“Things would’ve been easier if you’d all just cooperated.”

He looked toward the distant island.

And smiled.

“Now…”

“Let’s see what secrets are hiding over there.”

He walked toward the boats.

Completely unaware—

That surveillance cameras had already transmitted everything that happened…

Directly to the island’s research facility.
