He Duoye tilted his head slightly upward, the light from the entryway ceiling lamp falling into his eyes—a faint, cool brown with a cold, luminous clarity.
“Then do you want to check me?” he asked, a smile playing on his lips. His narrow eyes fixed directly on Lin Mian, resembling a wicked, sinister snake with ill intentions.
He was definitely up to no good.
Sure enough, the next moment he said, “How do you want to check? Look, touch, or…” His palm slid along Lin Mian’s face, his fingertips pressing against her lips, which were slightly flushed from the earlier kisses.
“Or taste.”
Lin Mian’s cheeks burned as if on fire. Still simmering with anger, she opened her mouth and bit down hard on He Duoye’s finger. Her bright eyes glared at him, a fierce expression that seemed to say, “If you dare, I’ll bite you to death.”
He Duoye let out a low, husky laugh. His fingers were bony and hard, completely unfazed by the pain. Instead, he pried open Lin Mian’s teeth and pressed against her wet tongue.
Just as tears were about to well up in Lin Mian’s eyes, he withdrew his hand and leaned in for a kiss.
He licked away all the moisture from the corners of her lips, kissing her as he guided her toward the bed.
Lin Mian felt dazed for a moment but quickly regained some clarity. Last night had been her misfortune—she’d been tossed around all night without understanding why. Tonight, she wouldn’t repeat the same mistake.
Just as she was about to struggle, her body suddenly went weightless as He Duoye tossed her onto the bed.
The bedroom was unlit, with only the faint residual light from the entryway casting a dim, hazy glow. He Duoye stood tall and powerfully built beside the bed, raising his hands to remove his shirt and reveal his toned upper body.
He must have been working out these past few years—his shoulders were broad, even the lines of his trapezius muscles were beautifully defined and strong. His arm muscles bulged, his chest muscles were prominent, and the faint light outlined his powerful physique.
He showed no trace of embarrassment, flicking on the light with a click so Lin Mian could see him clearly.
Lin Mian was overwhelmed by his sexy, muscular build, her mind going blank for a couple of seconds.
He Duoye stood there, looking down at her from above.
“If you want to check, do it yourself,” he said, lowering his head slightly. He stood firmly, his waist slim yet strong, his abdominal muscles clearly defined. Above his brown-black belt was the edge of his pure black underwear.
The waistband of his pants sat low, revealing the downward lines of his muscles and the veins beneath.
“Check however you like.”
Lin Mian glanced at him, and her mind felt like it was about to overheat.
Her mouth went dry, and she rolled over, crawling toward the other side of the bed. “Who wants to check… Ah!”
Before she could finish, He Duoye grabbed her ankle and pulled her back.
The man’s scorching body pressed firmly and tightly against her, completely enveloping Lin Mian’s slender frame. He pinned her down, kissed the side of her neck, his hot breath right by her ear.
“If you won’t check me, then it’s my turn to check you,” he whispered against her ear. “Besides this blind date, have you had other boyfriends?”
Lin Mian felt hot and furious, yet she couldn’t break free. The bedsheet was crumpled under her grip.
Unable to hold back, she kicked He Duoye, her foot pressing against his burning chest, only for him to grab her ankle again.
“What if I have?” Lin Mian couldn’t help retorting. “We’ve already broken up. Even if I slept with ten men, it’s none of your business.”
He Duoye leaned over, covering her completely.
Lin Mian’s foot was still in his grasp, placed against the side of his waist.
His large hands cupped her face, forcing her to look directly at him.
“Ten, huh…” He Duoye asked slowly, “When was the first one?”
Lin Mian was so furious she could have strangled him. She shot back, “And when was your first?”
He Duoye lowered his gaze to look at her. Backlit, his eyes turned dark and inscrutable, filled with a shadowy depth Lin Mian couldn’t decipher.
A moment that felt both fleeting and endless.
He Duoye’s rough, scorching palm pressed against Lin Mian’s cheek, caressing it slowly, almost tenderly.
“Mianmian,” he called her, “Do you want to go back?”
The topic shifted too abruptly. Lin Mian was momentarily stunned. Before she could speak, He Duoye said, “Once you’re here, without my protection and arrangements, you might never make it home.”
His hand came to rest on Lin Mian’s slender neck. His hand was large, his knuckles long, and with a gentle grasp, he encircled most of her swan-like neck.
He asked again, “Do you want to go back?”
Lin Mian stopped struggling.
Her passport and phone had long been stolen. Penniless and alone, she had no way of returning home on her own. The moment she left He Duoye’s estate, without his protection, she could be snatched off the street by some thug, sold, or killed.
Lin Mian thought it through, her resistance crumbling into reluctant acceptance. So what if she had to be someone’s concubine and sleep with him? Compared to her life and future, it meant nothing.
Besides, sleeping with him once was no different from sleeping with him ten times. It wasn’t a big deal.
Lin Mian gave up struggling, closed her eyes, and lay stiffly on her back like a salted fish. “Fine, go ahead then.”
Beast.
I don’t believe you can get it up with a dead fish.
The next second, He Duoye grabbed her by the legs and dragged her over.
“I didn’t get a good look last night. Tonight, I’m going to inspect you carefully,” He Duoye said, his long, bony fingers sinking into the soft, pale flesh of Lin Mian’s thighs. “Let’s see if my precious ex-girlfriend has been touched by anyone else these past four years.”
Lin Mian instantly flushed crimson all over. Unable to maintain her dead-fish act, she began to struggle.
“No.”
He Duoye caught her flailing hand. “Why not? Haven’t you slept with anyone else?”
Lin Mian’s face burned with humiliation, and she wanted to tear He Duoye apart with her bare hands.
She could have simply said she hadn’t dated anyone else in the past four years—the only match her aunt had forced on her was a blind date. But thinking about all the women around this bastard, Lin Mian refused to lose face.
As if she were saving herself for some scoundrel.
In reality, she had just been too busy with her studies.
Lin Mian struggled with all her might, but she was no match for He Duoye’s hand on her knee. In a desperate move, she flipped over like a salted fish and rolled toward the other side of the bed.
The bed was large. Lin Mian rolled twice but didn’t fall off. Instead, her hair tangled all over her face.
He Duoye reached out with his long arm and pulled her back. Looking at Lin Mian’s hair-covered face, he suddenly chuckled. As he gently brushed the hair away, he said, “You look like a disheveled Afghan hound right now.”
Lin Mian: “?”
Don’t you dare act like a jerk when I’m hating you!
It’ll only make me angrier!!
“I’ll fight you to the death, you scumbag!” Lin Mian raged. She flipped over, pinned He Duoye to the bed, and bit him.
Perhaps triggered by old memories, Lin Mian sank her teeth into He Duoye’s pectoral muscle. Compared to a few years ago, this bastard’s chest was more elastic and harder to bite.
She gnawed twice before finding a good spot to sink her teeth into.
She bit down hard, but the chest beneath her mouth trembled slightly—He Duoye was laughing.
With one hand pressed against the back of Lin Mian’s head, his voice was low and deliberately provoking.
“Baby,” he said, “Are you getting old? Your bite doesn’t even hurt anymore.”
Lin Mian: “…”
Ahhhhh!
Ex-boyfriends—such annoying creatures—really ought to just die already!
Hurry up and let a bolt of lightning strike him dead!
