Qin Yeling couldn’t quite explain it, he just felt something inexplicably strange.

As Qin Yeling’s gaze swept over, he saw a boy in a baseball cap sitting there eating.

The brim of the cap was pulled down low, making his face impossible to see. But Qin Yeling couldn’t shake the feeling that he looked somehow familiar.Full novel: Quick Transmigration: Absorb Full Energy in Every World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

For a brief moment, Qin Yeling seemed to sense that the person was watching him too.

The two people beside Qin Yeling noticed him suddenly freeze and curiously looked over as well.

“Yeling, what are you looking at? That’s the school cafeteria in there, but the food isn’t good. If you’re hungry, I’ll take you somewhere better my family just opened a new restaurant on campus. The food’s really good.”

“Is that so? Then let’s go. But I want to drop my things off at the dorm first,” Qin Yeling replied flatly.

This little episode didn’t register with Qin Yeling at all, he forgot it the moment it passed.

[Host, why did you just make them unable to notice you? Didn’t you come here to find the male lead?]

Ling An, head down and slurping up noodles, took a moment to reply: “What do you know? Secret love, hidden protection that’s the most lethal kind.”

“System, do you have anything like a Presence-Concealment Technique? I can’t keep the technique running all the time, it burns too much Spiritual Power.”

[We do. Consider it a reward for completing your task ahead of schedule.]

As soon as the system finished speaking, an icon appeared on Ling An’s panel: Basic Presence-Concealment Technique.

After eating for two hours, Ling An was finally full. Tomorrow was the school’s opening ceremony.

Ling An was also quite the homebody, too lazy to go out unless necessary. On reflection, he decided to just go back to the dorm and sleep.

Walking back with the Presence-Concealment Technique active, Ling An crossed paths with Qin Yeling and his group again.

He brushed past the three of them. All three turned to look at him, then carelessly turned back to their conversation.

Only Qin Yeling found it strange that person again. He seemed to have seen him somewhere just now. Whatever, probably not anyone important. Not worth thinking about.

Ling An went back and flopped onto his bed, sleeping soundly through the night. Then the system woke him up right on time for the opening ceremony.

Wearing the standard school uniform and putting on his baseball cap, he headed straight downstairs.

Coincidentally, Qin Yeling and another roommate downstairs had just opened their door.

They saw Ling An hurry out of his room, catching only a glimpse of his back as he quickly shut the door.

The other roommate asked in confusion: “Yeling, did you see that guy just now? I think we saw him yesterday.”

“Yeah, I saw him. He must be that last roommate upstairs. Yesterday they thought that room was unoccupied turns out they just never ran into him.

Maybe he’s just someone who likes being alone. Forget him. Let’s grab Matthew and get going.”

Ling An arrived early at the auditorium for the opening ceremony.

He found a conspicuous seat in the front row, a spot guaranteed to catch Qin Yeling’s eye the moment he walked in and sat down.

New students from various countries gradually trickled into the auditorium.

By the time Qin Yeling’s group arrived, the front was already crowded, so they had to sit in the back.

The moment Qin Yeling sat down, he spotted that boy in the cap sitting in the front row.

Staring at the boy’s back, Qin Yeling felt more and more that he looked familiar.

But it was strange counting yesterday and today, they’d already crossed paths three times, yet he still had no idea what this person even looked like.

The more Qin Yeling thought about it, the more curious he became. He didn’t want to hold back any longer and was about to walk over for a closer look.

Just then, music began playing in the hall, the ceremony was starting.

Qin Yeling, who had just stood up, was pulled back down by Matthew beside him, who said in a low voice, “It’s starting. Why are you standing up?”

“Nothing, I just wanted to move seats.”

So Qin Yeling moved to the far left side.

But he still couldn’t see his face.

Forget it, he’s staying upstairs anyway. I’ll just go back and look later.

With that thought, Qin Yeling stopped paying attention to Ling An.

The opening ceremony was simple: the headmaster talked about the school’s history and the famous people it had produced, then recounted their achievements.

In truth, every student present knew perfectly well everyone who could attend this school was nobility, and they had all done their research long ago.

When the time was about right, the opening ceremony came to an end.

There was a welcome party for the new students in the evening, which was really just a chance for the newcomers to get to know one another nothing more than the mutual flattery of various noble families.

Qin Yeling had no interest in such parties and didn’t plan on going.

Back in his room, Qin Yeling threw himself into work. Although the company was progressing smoothly, there were still matters that required his attention.

By the time he finished, night had fallen completely. Opening the window, he could hear music drifting from afar, the party had probably already begun.

He closed the window again, left his room, and went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee.

The moment he picked up the coffee, Qin Yeling felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.

He had been busy ever since returning and hadn’t eaten anything probably a bit of low blood sugar.

Qin Yeling hurriedly took a sip of coffee, but before he could raise the cup to his lips, everything went black and he fainted.

The moment Qin Yeling collapsed, Ling An who had been secretly watching from the second floor, immediately flew down and caught him.

The scalding hot coffee spilled onto the floor. Ling An deliberately shielded the coffee liquid with the back of his hand, leaving a burn.

The cup shattered into several pieces on the floor, and the flying shards cut Qin Yeling’s fair, tender ankle.

Ling An frowned at the sight, scooped Qin Yeling up in a princess carry, and carried him back to the bed in his room.

He looked around. Qin Yeling didn’t have many belongings, apart from clothes and personal items, everything else had been issued by the school.

That was only natural, though, since he was only staying a few days.

He touched the injured ankle. It was smooth and delicate to the touch, with elegant bone structure like a piece of fine jade, too lovely to let go of.

He bandaged the wound on Qin Yeling’s ankle.

Then he sent a wisp of Spiritual Energy into Qin Yeling’s body.

The moment the Spiritual Energy entered Qin Yeling’s body, his eyelashes trembled slightly, as if he were struggling to open his eyes.

Seeing him so utterly at his mercy, Ling An couldn’t help but kiss him again before reluctantly leaving.

He closed the door softly. Not a few minutes later, Qin Yeling jolted awake.

Opening his eyes, he was bewildered, how had he gotten back to his room?

Who was it? And who had bandaged his wound?

For some reason, as he looked at the bandaged injury, a figure flashed through Qin Yeling’s mind. A pity he still had never seen what that person looked like.

So this person was a bit of a loner, but kind at heart. He’d have to thank him later.

Just as Qin Yeling mentally awarded Ling An a “good person card,” he happened to hear the door opening outside.

It was Matthew and Felo returning. The two were chatting about amusing moments from the party. Seeing that Qin Yeling’s room was dark, they assumed he had gone to sleep and didn’t disturb him.

Once everyone had returned to their rooms, Qin Yeling came out, walked upstairs, and knocked on Ling An’s door.

Knock knock knock.

Ling An had known it was him. Standing just inside the doorway without opening it, he waited for Qin Yeling to speak first.

Who would have thought that after knocking twice with no answer, Qin Yeling would assume no one was inside and simply turn to leave.

Ling An was left standing there, stunned for a while.

Who knocks on a door without saying a word? And here I was, gearing up to come clean. What a blockhead.
