Shu Ran naturally ended up on the same team as Yu Yan. The two picked a direction, said goodbye to the other teams, and continued onward.
The entire first basement level was even darker than the area around the escalator they had just entered. If they hadn’t had headlamps, they probably wouldn’t have even had the courage to come down here.
Shu Ran had it a little easier than the others. Since she was a zombie, her night vision was much better than a human’s, so she could still make out what was around her.
She curiously looked around.
【Are all of these things edible?】
The System glanced at what Shu Ran was looking at.
【That’s toothpaste.】
【Toothpaste?】
Shu Ran pursed her lips. She knew this one. The System had even made her use it to brush her teeth before, so it wasn’t food.
【Then what about this?】
Shu Ran picked up a small rectangular box with her fingers.
She had seen this before. It looked like the kind of little box that snacks came in.
The System casually glanced over, about to answer, when its eyes suddenly widened.
【Ranran, where did you get that?! Put it down! Hurry!】
Shu Ran tilted her head in confusion, her soft, silky hair sliding over her collarbone.
【Why?】
The System felt its entire bear face turn bright red. It turned away.
【J-Just put it down, okay? This isn’t something you can eat, and you don’t need it right now anyway.】
Hearing the System say that only made Shu Ran even more curious.
She lowered her eyes to the words on the box: ultra-thin, fruit flavor…Could it be a toy?
“What are you looking at?”
Suddenly, Yu Yan’s deep, magnetic voice sounded beside her. The man strode over in a few long steps and stopped in front of her.
Shu Ran obediently shook her head, but soon she smiled, her eyes curving up.
She raised the thing in her hand.
If the System wouldn’t tell her, she would just ask him herself!
Yu Yan knew much more than she did, so he would definitely know what it was.
The man obligingly angled his headlamp toward the box in the little zombie’s hand. But as the beam passed over the glowing markings and the line of numbers printed on it, his long, narrow eyes narrowed slightly.
Without showing anything on his face, he took the little box from her.
“Where did you get this?”
Shu Ran turned around and looked for a moment before grabbing Yu Yan’s finger.
【That shelf over there. What’s wrong? Is this something good to eat?!】
Something good to eat?
Hearing what the little zombie was thinking, Yu Yan smiled silently.
No wonder the little zombie had brought this over to show him. She had mistaken it for food.
She really was a little glutton.
“Although it’s not something to eat, it’s still quite useful.”
Even if it couldn’t be used for its original purpose, it could still come in handy for first aid.
Yu Yan spent a while picking through the items on that particular shelf, pulled out several boxes he could use, and stuffed them into his backpack.
Then he took Shu Ran’s hand and continued walking forward.
The deeper they ventured, the more shelves appeared, and the greater the variety of snacks became.
Shu Ran had never seen such a wide variety of snacks before. There were so many that her eyes nearly went cross-eyed.
Yu Yan also stopped nearby, but unlike Shu Ran, he was looking at the chocolate and energy bars.
Even with these small things, he couldn’t take too many. He needed to leave room for other supplies.
Just as he was about to take the chocolate and energy bars, everything in front of him suddenly disappeared!
Yu Yan quickly turned his head, only to see the little zombie’s hand raised in midair.

She hummed twice, then changed from letting Yu Yan lead her to taking his hand and actively leading him forward.
Cookies, potato chips, instant noodles, sausages, drinks… Even the toiletries and other daily necessities that Shu Ran hadn’t paid much attention to earlier were all swept into her space.

What had originally been a dangerous exploration mission had somehow turned into a shopping trip where everything was free.

In the end, Shu Ran refused to leave until they had cleared out nearly everything around them.
Seeing that Shu Ran still looked like she hadn’t had her fill of shopping, Yu Yan crouched down slightly and lifted the little zombie into his arms, supporting her under her bottom.
“We’ll stop browsing this floor for now. Let’s go to the second basement level and pick out some clothes for you.”
Shu Ran shifted her slightly uncomfortable bottom. Hearing what the man said, she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
【Then hurry up. These clothes are so uncomfortable to wear.】
There were slightly fewer zombies on the second basement level than on the first, but the difference wasn’t significant. Without the magical vine clearing a path ahead of them, they likely wouldn’t have been able to advance so easily.
Once most of the zombies had been dealt with, Yu Yan casually found a shop, pried open the door, and slipped inside.
He pried open the doors of five shops in a row. At first, Shu Ran picked out a few things herself, but after that, whether they were men’s or women’s clothes, as long as they were things Shu Ran could see, she stuffed them all into her space.
During that time, with the System’s reminder, Shu Ran also took a whole lot of underwear…

The return trip was much easier.
Once everyone had regrouped, they killed another group of zombies that had just gathered nearby, then got into the vehicles and sped out.
By the time they returned, it was already completely dark. After sorting through the supplies, everyone dragged their exhausted bodies off to rest.
Aside from Yu Yan, who stayed behind to discuss a few matters with the others, Shu Ran went upstairs with the rest of the group.
After finally making her way to Yu Yan’s room, Shu Ran was just about to open the door when one of the team members stopped her.
“That is the Boss’s room. Your room is this one—6077.”
Shu Ran glanced at the door marked 6077, then at Yu Yan’s door. After thinking for a moment, she nodded at the team member, opened the door to 6077, and walked inside.
After being busy all day, Shu Ran was a little tired too. She made a round of her new territory, then changed into a set of pajamas and crawled under the covers.
So when Yu Yan finished everything and returned, he discovered that his zombie was nowhere to be found…
Shu Ran was fast asleep, her petite body curled up into a little ball beneath the covers.
Suddenly, a wave of energy she hated drifted over.
Shu Ran felt extremely uncomfortable, and even her rosy little face scrunched up. She tossed and turned restlessly beneath the covers a couple more times before finally opening her eyes.
“Mm…”
Shu Ran sat blankly on the bed for a while. Then, with her cheeks puffed out, she crawled toward the bay window in the direction of the energy and looked down.
Under the cool moonlight, several blurry figures were moving at an astonishing speed toward a nearby building.
