At this stage in the story, the Su family’s financial clout was far beyond what the Shen family could match. Besides, Su Mu was the only heiress to the Su estate, whereas the Shen family had more than one candidate vying for succession.
There were plenty of rivals eager to drag Shen Yeyi down from his high perch.
“Don’t worry, Dad. I know how to handle myself.”
Su Mu glanced at the line of bodyguards entering the hall and casually gestured toward two of them.
“Are these two enough?”
Su Hongbo felt uneasy about the number, pointing out two more to accompany her. If it weren’t for the fact that personal revenge felt far more satisfying, Su Hongbo would have rushed over himself. Who did that bastard think he was, daring to bully his precious daughter?!
Su Mu nodded. Escorted by the four bodyguards, she headed straight for the Shen Corporation headquarters.
According to the plot, Shen Yeyi and Xiang Qing’s first intimate encounter occurred right after this conflict, right inside his executive office.
It was also Xiang Qing’s very first time stepping foot into the Shen family enterprise.
Watching his precious daughter depart, Su Hongbo’s expression turned as dark as storm clouds. Remembering the upcoming joint project with the Shen family, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
They aren’t even married yet, and he’s already tormenting my darling girl! Does he really think the Su family can’t survive without his precious company?!
If not for the betrothal promise made years ago, wouldn’t it be far better to keep my daughter safely at home?!
Bah! To hell with the Shen family!
Inside the luxury van.
Su Mu reclined against the genuine leather seat, her eyes half-lidded as she gently swirled a glass of red wine. The dark, clear crimson liquid exuded a rich, heady aroma.
Pressing the rim of the glass against her lower lip, she tilted her head back slightly, letting the wine glide smoothly down her throat.
What should have been a perfectly ordinary moment of relaxation took on an unsettling tone given the four hulking, muscle-bound bodyguards sitting alongside her. System w-444 couldn’t help but feel a lingering sense of foreboding.
“H-Host, what happened to the whole ‘making him constantly yearn for you’ plan…?”
Su Mu didn’t even raise an eyelid, completely ignoring w-444.
w-444 desperately wanted to throw a classic tantrum like it used to with its previous host—crying, screaming, and threatening to throw a fit…
Yet, staring at the icy, unbothered woman before it, w-444 simply didn’t dare to make a peep.
Sob sob sob…
It wanted to cry so badly. Just a moment ago, her host had called it ‘Little Cutie,’ but now she didn’t love it anymore!
The van pulled up smoothly in front of the Shen Corporation building. Su Mu put on a face mask and, flanked by her four bodyguards, strolled casually into the lobby as if she were merely dropping by for a relaxed social visit.
Given her elevated status and the ongoing business partnership between the Shen and Su families, no one dared to stop her. Su Mu stepped directly into the private elevator without a single hindrance.
“My goodness, someone call Secretary Zhou right now!”
The moment the elevator doors closed, the front desk receptionist scrambled to make a call.
CEO Shen had only returned an hour ago—and the biggest problem was that he had brought a woman up with him!
If Miss Su caught them together, heaven only knew what kind of chaos would erupt.
By the time Su Mu arrived outside the executive office, Shen Yeyi’s secretary was already pacing nervously in the hallway. Holding his phone with white knuckles, he was beside himself with anxiety, yet the double doors remained tightly shut.
“Miss Su, President Shen is currently handling an urgent matter. I’m afraid he doesn’t have time to—”
Though Secretary Zhou didn’t know the exact details of what was happening inside, he knew full well that once this heiress stepped through those doors, all hell would break loose regardless.
“Get him out of the way,” Su Mu commanded, her face devoid of emotion as she gave a casual wave of her hand.
Two bodyguards immediately stepped forward and dragged the secretary away, with one of them thoughtfully clapping a hand over Secretary Zhou’s mouth to keep him quiet.
Su Mu pulled out her phone and switched on the video recording function. But just as her hand touched the door handle, she paused, freezing in place.
The handle in her palm was vibrating rhythmically…
Exhaling a slow breath of stale air, Su Mu gestured for one of the bodyguards to step up.
“Kick it down.”
Without hesitation, the bodyguard took a step back and delivered a heavy, powerful kick straight to the door.
BAM!
The heavy doors slammed open with a violent crash. Two sharp screeches erupted from within the room, exposing the scene inside to everyone present.
Xiang Qing’s short skirt had been rolled up all the way to her waist, and clothes were scattered haphazardly across the floor.
“Ah—!”
Xiang Qing let out a panicked shriek, frantically grabbing scattered garments off the floor to cover herself in sheer desperation.
Su Mu offered her only a passing glance before averting her eyes, whipping out her phone to capture a few quick video clips of the scene.
By now, Shen Yeyi had snapped back to reality. He yanked his trousers up in a frenzy, snatched his suit jacket off the floor, and draped it over Xiang Qing before scooping her up onto the sofa. He glared at Su Mu, his eyes dark with murderous intent.
“Su Mu! You are courting death—!”
Shen Yeyi’s face warped with rage, fire practically shooting from his eyes.
Su Mu merely gave him a cool, indifferent look. Without wasting a breath on petty banter, she signaled the hulking men standing behind her.
“Beat him.”
The moment the command left her lips, the bodyguards charged forward, pinning Shen Yeyi to the carpet and raining blows down on him.
Curled up on the leather sofa, Xiang Qing stared at Su Mu in absolute horror before turning to look at Shen Yeyi being mercilessly thrashing on the floor. Her entire body trembled like a leaf in a storm.
She didn’t dare utter a sound or make a single sound. If she moved even an inch, the suit jacket covering her would slip, exposing her bare skin to the crowd of men in the room.
Meanwhile, Su Mu picked up a glass from the executive desk, filled it with hot water from the dispenser, and glided over to stand over Xiang Qing.
“You splashed me with hot water this morning. Now… we’re even.”
Before Xiang Qing could even comprehend her words, Su Mu tipped the glass, splashing the hot water straight onto Xiang Qing’s fair, tender legs.
“Ah—!”
Xiang Qing let out a blood-curdling shriek. Tears spilled instantly from her eyes like a broken dam as she stared in hopeless, crumbling despair at Shen Yeyi, who was still being pummeled on the floor.
As Shen Yeyi let out low, muffled roars, Su Mu glanced out toward the hallway. Calculating that company security would likely arrive any minute, she made her call.
“Alright, that’s enough. Let’s go.”
Su Mu stepped gracefully out of the office with light, leisurely strides. Right at the threshold, a flash of pure mockery flickered in her eyes.
“Since you’re so eager to stick with a piece of trash like him, I don’t mind making sure you two spend the rest of your lives as destitute lovebirds.”
In the original timeline, the Su family’s ruin had begun right around the original host’s wedding. The two families had signed several joint agreements, but Shen Yeyi had secretly set a trap within the contracts. The Su family was utterly ruined as a result, leading directly to the original host’s tragic demise.
In fact, even her ultimate fate of being trafficked overseas had been orchestrated by Shen Yeyi’s hand.
This novel world was inherently twisted to begin with, Su Mu mused. Expecting its original leads to act like rational human beings was pure delusion.
In that case… better to just put him out of his misery.
Su Mu fell into quiet reflection, a hundred and eight distinct ways to kill Shen Yeyi flashing rapidly through her mind.
Watching Su Mu lost in deep, methodical thought, w-444 frantically compared her current expression to a video clip just sent over by her former system. A series of cold shivers ran down its virtual spine.
In that video, Su Mu had stood at the exact same angle with her head slightly lowered, looking completely lost in thought. But what followed was the absolute annihilation of countless health bars…
She had single-handedly wiped out an entire team!
“H-Host… p-please stay calm! T-This is a society governed by the rule of law…”
w-444 felt its virtual teeth chattering uncontrollably.
It was literally just a tiny, harmless romance system! She wasn’t an actual God of Slaughter, right?!
Gods above! Somebody save this innocent child!
“I am completely calm.”
Su Mu ignored the system’s inner panic. In her mind, keeping someone ‘constantly yearning for her’ and ‘sending them six feet under’ weren’t mutually exclusive goals.
w-444: “Oh god, I don’t want to live anymore! How am I supposed to survive this?! (つд⊂)…”
(System Alert: w-444 is currently sobbing frantically.)
w-748: “…”
(System Alert: w-748 is rolling its eyes.)
w-233: “…Uh, hey, I actually happen to know a sister system who hooked up with a system over from the Slaughter Department. Want me to ask her about your host’s personal preferences for you…?”
w-444: “YES! YES! PLEASE!”
w-444 nodded its head like a jackhammer. It had literally traded away its moral dignity just to get that video snippet, only for that jerk to turn around and block it right after! Absolute trash!
Sob sob sob…
System life is so hard.
