“You have a faint milk scent on you… along with a top note of floral citrus, laced with a very, very light trace of cedar wood…”

Su Mu sniffed lightly. The middle-aged man in the suit frowned, growing increasingly impatient, unable to comprehend what she was doing.

“He has the exact same smell on him as you do, except his milk scent is much stronger.”Full novel: Quick Transmigration: The Max-Level Boss’s Obsessive Little Pixie — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Su Mu pointed toward the driver of the minivan.

“You—”

The middle-aged man remained utterly baffled by her words, but the minivan driver’s eyes flashed with a sudden spike of panic.

“Forget it, forget it! Traffic’s backed up so far behind us, and it’s turned into such a mess. I have places to be, so two thousand is fine—just give me the two thousand and I’ll go.”

Hearing this, the middle-aged man hurriedly reached out to hand over the two thousand yuan. Su Mu, however, stepped right past them to the side door of the minivan. Finding the side door jammed shut, she opened the front passenger door instead and dove right in.

“Hey, who the hell are you?! Who let you in here?! Fuck off and get out!”

A chorus of furious curses echoed from inside the vehicle. Seeing this, the minivan driver didn’t even wait to take the cash—he turned around and bolted back toward his vehicle in panic.

Yet before he could even climb inside, several muffled screams and agonizing grunts echoed from within the van. Accompanied by a heavy, thunderous crash, the jammed side door was kicked completely off its hinges, flying outward onto the pavement.

The young woman stepped casually out of the van, cradled in her arms a worn-out floral cloth swaddle.

“What do you think you’re doing?! Put my baby down! Someone help! Help! Kidnapping in broad daylight!”

Panicking, the minivan driver lunged forward to snatch the bundle from her arms, only for Su Mu to kick him flat onto the ground.

Watching the scene unfold with its own eyes, system w-444 swallowed hard. Staring at the mangled, deformed car door lying on the road, it gulped nervously once more…

Why… why on earth did its host possess such insanely high combat ability?!

This was entirely unscientific!

“Take a look. Recognize him?”

Su Mu held the baby out in front of the middle-aged man. The child—less than four months old—was fast asleep inside the swaddle.

The moment the middle-aged man caught sight of the infant’s face, he froze completely, his eyes widening inch by inch.

“This… my son? My son has been found?!”

Dazed beyond belief, the man mumbled incoherently, trembling so hard he didn’t even dare reach out to hold the child.

Su Mu shoved the baby straight into his arms, then turned right back into the minivan to haul out everyone inside.

There was a middle-aged woman and a young man inside—making a total of three human traffickers alongside the driver.

After dumping the three into a heap, Su Mu noticed the traffic police rushing over at last. Only then did she brush off her clothes and turn around with effortless grace.

Remembering something as she was about to leave, she turned back around and delivered a brutal, heavy kick to the young man’s ribs, eliciting a blood-curdling scream of pain.

“HOLY… HOLY CRAP…!”

The surrounding crowd could only gasp out loud to express their utter shock.

Looking at the middle-aged man sobbing uncontrollably while gingerly cradling his baby, and then looking back at the minivan driver, every single onlooker understood the situation in an instant.

What kind of absurd, melodramatic twist of fate was this?! Running into the very human traffickers who kidnapped your own child by getting into a car accident with them?!

By the time Su Mu arrived at the airport, she was a full hour late.

So…

Where was her brother?

Su Mu glanced left and right, then pulled out her phone to check the photo her father had sent her.

Nobody in sight.

Just as she turned to leave, a woman suddenly burst out from the restroom area, tackling Su Mu in a fierce bear hug.

“My darling daughter! Did you miss Mommy?”

Su Mu: “…”

(¬_¬)

Not in the slightest.

Wasn’t this woman supposed to be traveling abroad? Why was she back?

“…Mom, you’re choking me to death.”

Su Mu yanked the hands off her shoulders and took a deep breath.

“Haha! Surprised?”

Lin Yi whisked off her sunglasses, revealing creamy, fair skin and a dewy face that looked no different from a girl in her early twenties.

“Only shocked, zero delight.”

Su Mu rolled her eyes. With a mother who acted even more childish than her own child, one could easily imagine how close to a breakdown the original host had been on a daily basis.

At the thought of having to watch her father and Lin Yi flirt and shower each other with nauseating affection every single day from now on, Su Mu pressed her lips together.

Suddenly, she really wanted to move out.

“When are you leaving again?”

Su Mu swept a slow, critical glance over Lin Yi from head to toe, making zero effort to hide her unadulterated disdain.

The radiant smile on Lin Yi’s face slowly withered away. “…”

“Holy crap, you wretched girl—gotten pretty bold, haven’t you?!”

Lin Yi raised a hand, feigning a slap to yank at Su Mu, but Su Mu cooperatively slipped out of reach.

“Miss, we’re in a public place. It creates a bad impression.”

Su Mu playfully patted down Lin Yi’s hand, instantly sending her mother into giggles.

“You mischievous girl! Your mouth is getting sweeter and sweeter.”

Lin Yi gave Su Mu’s hand a shy, gentle tap. A instant wave of goosebumps erupted all over Su Mu’s arm.

“Mom. Little Sister.”

A deep, magnetic voice echoed beside her ears.

Su Mu turned her head, finally catching sight of Male Supporting Lead Number Two in the flesh.

A striking, handsome face boasted sharp, chiseled features, his jawline carved like solid granite. Within those deep, narrow eyes lay a calm, unruffled sea of quiet indifference.

His lips were pressed into a tight line, radiating an unmistakable aura of cold, stoic detachment.

Below his belt was an endless stretch of long legs, clad in a crisp black shirt paired with black trousers—a walking embodiment of pure, forbidden charisma.

w-444: “AHHH! HE’S SO HANDSOME! Mumu, are we taking him down?!”

System w-444 squealed with so much excitement it was practically drooling. It’s been ages since it saw a man of such top-tier quality! Its eyes felt cleansed at last—ahhh!

Su Mu: “…No.”

“Brother, welcome home.”

The single sentence was drenched in polite distance, carrying not a single shred of actual warmth or welcome.

Su Chen’s lips pressed into an even tighter line. His deep, piercing eyes lingered on Su Mu with an increasingly sharp intensity, faintly radiating a chilly aura.

“Miss, let’s go.”

As if completely oblivious to Su Chen’s frosty demeanor, Su Mu gave Lin Yi a gentle nudge, steering her toward the exit with a breezy grin.

Staring at Su Mu’s retreating figure, Su Chen let out a soft, helpless sigh before wheeling the mountain of luggage after them.

Su Father had specially prepared a romantic candlelit dinner complete with fine red wine to welcome Lin Yi home.

No matter how one looked at it, this dinner had absolutely nothing to do with her or Su Chen—the man was simply celebrating his own wife’s return.

After eating a few quick bites, Su Mu’s WeChat suddenly buzzed with an incoming voice call.

It was from Bai Xiu.

Normally, Bai Xiu would only send her a simple “good morning” or “goodnight” without a single word of fluff. Why was he suddenly calling her through a voice chat today?

Looking up at her parents showering each other with nauseating affection, Su Mu silently stood up from the table.

“Mom, Dad, I’m finished eating.”

Stepping away from the dining room, she answered the call.

“Hello?”

“S-Su Mu… Can you… can you come over…?”

From the other end of the line, the young man’s voice sounded entirely off—hoarse, panicked, and surrounded by chaotic background noise.

“Send me your location. I’ll head over immediately.”

“Did something happen?”

Su Chen wiped the corners of his mouth in an unhurried manner, his eyes locking onto Su Mu with a complex expression.

“A friend of mine needs help. I’m going to check on him.”

Without offering further details, Su Mu grabbed her jacket and prepared to head out, only for Su Chen to stand up and block her path. His tall, imposing frame cast a faint, subtle pressure over her, causing Su Mu’s brows to knit together in a frown.

“It’s already dark outside. I’ll accompany you.”

“No need.”

Su Mu rejected the offer without a second thought, but Su Father’s voice immediately sealed the matter.

“Your brother is right! It’s unsafe after dark, and a young girl like you shouldn’t be wandering around alone. Let your brother go with you!”

w-444: “…”

If her Mumu went out… the people who actually needed to worry were everyone else, okay?!
