9 – Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character of a Wealthy Family Nine
Jiang Huai’s thin lips curved slightly. “You’re also very elegant and beautiful! I wanted to interact with you all before, but I never knew what to say, so I ended up ignoring you. I’m really sorry!”
“No worries, no worries!”
“Jiang Huai, what skincare products do you use? Your skin is so nice!”
The original host used to run regularly and never used skincare products because she couldn’t bear to spend the money. However, perhaps because her mother was a great beauty, her skin quality had always been good.
Additionally, after Jiang Huai entered the original host’s body, she altered some genes, among various other reasons.
Jiang Huai smiled, her eyes curving like crescent moons. “Maybe it’s because I exercise frequently!”
Suddenly, a sarcastic voice chimed in. “If you don’t want to say, then don’t. You’re just afraid others might become as good as you. If exercise really worked, many people wouldn’t have so many clogged pores and acne!”
The speaker was a girl with shoulder-length brown wavy hair, wearing exquisite makeup. However, her poor skin condition was evident from the severe cakey foundation.
Jiang Huai looked at her, noticing the flicker of jealousy in her eyes, and her tone turned colder. “I really haven’t used any skincare products. Believe it or not.”
She then turned around, took her clothes, and went to the bathroom to wash up.
“Xixi, why did you say that to Jiang Huai?” The delicate-looking girl who had spoken first expressed her disapproval.
Liang Xixi whispered to them, “You shouldn’t get too close to Jiang Huai. Be careful she steals your boyfriends. I heard she failed to win her younger sister’s boyfriend’s affection, so she decided to marry her younger sister’s boyfriend’s brother instead!”
“Ah! That’s so complicated!”
“I never would have thought someone usually so quiet would do something so shocking!”
Liang Xixi curled her lips into a triumphant smile in the dim light. Her aunt was always right—those who looked like seductive foxes only knew how to lure men.
With her excellent Mental Strength, Jiang Huai could clearly hear their discussion about her from the bathroom.
The original host didn’t actually have feelings for Leng Huiyan. It was just that in over twenty years, no one had ever shown her a shred of warmth. When someone suddenly gave her that warmth, she couldn’t help but cherish the memory.
But how could the original host have known? She merely mistook it for affection. She also shouldn’t have written those things in her diary, which ultimately became the trigger that destroyed her.
Better to move out soon. These people were always easily manipulated by others, and she couldn’t be bothered to explain too much to them.
Early the next morning.
After breakfast, Jiang Huai went for a run on campus wearing a white tracksuit.
She worked up a sweat, feeling sticky all over. By 7:30, she returned to the dormitory to wash up and change clothes before heading to class.
The other three hadn’t gotten up yet, and Jiang Huai had no intention of building a relationship with them.
It was meaningless. In just one month, she would finish her third year and go out for internship.
This time, all thirty students in their class would take turns performing clinical experiments.
The somewhat overweight middle-aged male teacher, named Mo De, held a Ph.D. and had won multiple national medical awards. He was now their medical instructor.
Jiang Huai sat in the middle of the second row.
Mo De instructed several male students to bring over five cadaver donors. His square face was very serious. “We’ll decide the order by drawing lots. I believe you all have plenty of experience with this by now. Today, we’ll treat this as a pop quiz.”
Mo De felt the prepared slips of paper, picked one up, and read, “First up, Wu Donghai.”A tall, handsome young man stood up and bowed to the cadaver. Beside him was a small cart with a series of surgical tools.
He skillfully put on gloves and made an incision on the head with an expressionless face, as if he had done it thousands of times before.
After opening it to a certain extent, he precisely and carefully sutured it back up.
Mo De watched from the side while nodding. “This student is quite good. He’s always been second in the medical department, right?”
A classmate sitting below shouted, “Teacher, that’s our class monitor!”
Jiang Huai stared intently at the video playing on the computer screen.
His dissection technique reminded her of how she used to dissect those divine beasts back in the Divine Abyss Country. However, the muscles and meridians of divine beasts were extremely tough, unlike how easily he could cut through this.
She had always loved good food, and back then she enjoyed dissecting enemy divine beasts that had provoked her to use for barbecue – the taste was absolutely amazing.
“Next, Jiang Huai.”
Hearing her name, Jiang Huai snapped back to reality. They were calling her so soon.
She stepped forward and imitated the previous male student by bowing to the corpse. Because she was exceptionally beautiful, her classmates weren’t watching the screen but rather her hands as she worked.
Jiang Huai treated the cadaver as if it were one of the divine beasts from her past, handling it with remarkable familiarity as she opened the other side of the head.
She could easily identify and suture every delicate nerve, performing with the skilled steadiness of an experienced senior doctor.
Mo De found this student even more satisfactory than the previous one. Jiang Huai seemed to be the girl who consistently ranked first at the top of her class.
“Excellent, very solid foundational skills. The previous male student’s suturing wasn’t smooth enough and left scars. While not problematic, this female student is more meticulous and handled the sutures very well!”
Jiang Huai completed opening and resuturing the head in just five minutes.
The meridian diagrams she had studied yesterday flashed through her mind at incredible speed.
Subsequently, other students came up one after another, but none performed as well as Wu Donghai and Jiang Huai.
The two-hour class concluded.
Students who hadn’t been called would have to wait until the next class.
After class, Mo De stood at the podium. “Wu Donghai and Jiang Huai, come with me to my office.”
Somewhat puzzled, Jiang Huai followed along.
Wu Donghai walked behind, watching the slender, graceful figure ahead of him, her waist-length hair flowing smooth and silky down her back.
He felt slightly dazed. Having been in the same class with her for three years, he never realized she had such elegance and beauty.
When they reached Mo De’s private office, he took two test papers from his drawer.
Looking at the two standing before his desk, he smiled slightly, his stern face softening considerably. “Here’s the situation. We’re preparing to launch an experimental project related to brain nerve development. I can see you both have extensive theoretical knowledge and must have read many books in this area. Here are two test papers – let’s see how far you can go with them.”
Jiang Huai thought to herself that the knowledge in her mind actually came from the original host. She herself had only read those few books yesterday, so she wasn’t truly experienced.
Perhaps her dissection technique had misled this teacher. However, participating in the experimental project should have been what the original host most desired all along. In the plot, that wedding destroyed all her hopes.
