Chapter 21: Ch 21: New Priest Discovered

Raising the Forgotten Snake Goddess with my Divine Faith System

The female looked determined to get the help that she needed, but Aiden did not have any intention of humoring her for much longer.

He wouldn’t have turned her down usually, but his goddess was in her brumation and he did not want to disturb her. Aiden also did not want to leave her alone, so he was willing to deny the female’s request.

"I am sorry, but we cannot take your request currently. We do not have enough resources to help you take revenge-"

"I will dedicate my life to you if you help me out. I don’t want to spend my life being tied to a man who killed my family! I will even donate his fortune to you as his wife. So please, just help me get rid of my husband without anyone else knowing."

The female spoke confidently and she was even willing to put her life on the line for this.

There were not a lot of people who were willing to give someone their everything just for a little help, and Aiden felt tempted.

[You have met someone who fulfills the condition of a priest.]

[Would you like to create a mission to help her out?]

The system asked, and Aiden was beginning to see this more and more as an opportunity. But still, he could not leave Goddess Apophis alone...

Aiden was so worried that he missed it when his goddess slithered over his body and sat on his shoulder. Her eyes turned to look at the desperate woman with caution as she coiled around Aiden’s neck.

"My dear follower, is something wrong?"

The goddess spoke in a tired voice, and the female asking for help held back her shocked yell at not only seeing a snake, but a talking one.

"W-Who...what...?"

She asked, too terrified to move, and Aiden sighed as he watched her.

’She has seen my goddess. I might as well recruit her and consider this fate. I hope my goddess will not tell me no.’

Aiden looked at the fallen woman for a few seconds before he turned to look at his goddess.

"Lady Apophis, she has come here to ask for help. In return, she has promised to dedicate her whole being to you. What would you like to do with her?"

Aiden asked, and the unnamed female finally started to catch on, having realized what was happening.

She bravely pulled herself up and gave the goddess a deep bow.

"Lady Apophis, I, Lumi, would like to beg you for help. In return, everything that I have will belong to you, including my life. Please, help me out."

The female looked only at the Goddess and not at Aiden. She was clearly indicating that her request was meant for the goddess.

Aiden waited for his goddess to make a decision, but his lady was taking an awfully long time, worrying even him.

He was about to call out to his goddess when she suddenly spoke up.

"You are going to dedicate your life to me, no matter what? Even if I ask you to never see your wealth again or banish you to your death?"

She asked, and Lumi replied without hesitation.

"I do not care what price I have to pay for my wish. I just want to take revenge against the bastard who ruined my family and kidnapped me. If I can fulfill my desire, then my life is of no consequence."

Lumi’s will was strong and the goddess finally sighed and made a decision.

"Aiden, we are helping her. Make her the person in charge of the lower temple once we’re done."

The goddess told Aiden, but she did not seem happy. However, Aiden felt relieved to know that his goddess had another person dedicated to her.

"Of course...wait! What do you mean ’we’ are helping her? Are you going to come with me?"

Aiden asked in a worried voice, and his goddess scoffed at his words.

"Of course I am coming with you. Did you truly think I would let my most beloved follower go without my presence? I will be accompanying you this time."

Goddess Apophis made her decision, and Aiden did try to stop her before giving up.

If his goddess wanted to accompany him, then who was he to question her? She knew her condition better than anyone else.

...

Contrary to Aiden’s confidence, the goddess was fighting her exhaustion in order to stay awake.

She might have agreed to help this new follower out, but that was only because she could sense how much Aiden wanted her to have another dedicated follower.

Goddess Apophis initially wanted to cut Lumi’s head off for daring to speak to her Aiden, but the woman had redeemed herself a little by not even sending Aiden another glance while asking for help.

It showed that she was uninterested in him, which had just saved her life.

’Hmm, there is no telling just how many people I will meet who will have no interest in Aiden. So I might as well take the one that I have right now.’

But she was still not going to risk letting Aiden go alone during this ’revenge’ task. The goddess was going to go with him, even if she remained asleep the whole time. She was going to act as his charm and protect him.

Besides, being cooped up in her room was making her feel tired. She wanted to go out with Aiden on an outing again.

Her beloved follower sighed as he realized that she was serious.

"It seems like my goddess has made her decision. I will be helping you from here on. We will leave tomorrow. For today, take the guest room and recover your strength. Is there anything you are allergic to?"

Her beloved follower was such a good host, and the goddess felt proud of him. He was caring and knew how to cook as well.

But unfortunately for everyone else, she was not going to let him go. He was bound to her forever.
