Luther’s POV
Goblins were sent flying one after another.
Most of them…
By James.
His Titan ability was ridiculously powerful.
Every punch crushed several Goblins at once, forcing the rest to hesitate before charging again.
As for me…
I was still fighting with nothing more than a rusted metal pipe.
“Guess this’ll have to do…”
CLANG!
Another Goblin collapsed at my feet.
A few meters away, Ariel was still struggling to understand her ability.
She wasn’t using even half of its potential.
If she had complete control…
She’d probably be soaring through the sky already.
Even so…
There was something mesmerizing about watching her fight.
The wind danced around her like it had a will of its own.
Strands of her hair drifted through the air like feathers.
Every movement she made was elegant, almost like she was performing a dance instead of battling monsters.
For a moment…
I forgot we were fighting for our lives.
THUD!
Something slammed into my side.
I stumbled backward.
James had shoulder-checked me out of the path of a Goblin’s club.
His Titan form faded, shrinking him back to normal.
He caught his breath for only a second before growing back to his giant form.
“This girl is really growing on you.”
“W-What?”
I swung my pipe, knocking another Goblin away.
“No, she’s not.”
“Oh?”
James punched a Goblin so hard it disappeared into a nearby wall.
“Then how do you explain all that staring?”
“I wasn’t staring!”
“I was…”
I hesitated.
“…Observing her ability.”
“That’s all.”
James looked at me with the most unconvinced expression imaginable.
“Mmm-hmm.”
His mischievous smirk said everything.
Before I could defend myself
“Luther! James!”
Ariel called from the street.
“The Goblins have stopped coming out of the Echo!”
I looked toward the glowing rift.
She was right.
No more Goblins were emerging.
A smile crossed my face.
“That means it’s about to collapse.”
James cracked his knuckles.
“Then let’s finish the rest.”
The three of us charged together.
Without reinforcements, the remaining Goblins quickly fell. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
One after another…
The battlefield finally grew silent.
The glowing fissure began shrinking.
Then…
It vanished completely.
A familiar chime echoed in the air.
Ding.
Blue windows appeared before us.
