Understanding how the system worked, Rex fell into deep thought about how to proceed with his plan of revenge.
The path ahead had finally become visible, yet the biggest problem still remained- he had no real power and no capable people to rely on.
Even the sandbox could not help him immediately.
It would take time to develop,he could not afford to waste time.
Thinking of this, he asked in his mind, “Alice, where is my sandbox world?” [THE SANDBOX EXISTS IN AN ALTERNATE SPACE.
IT CAN BE ACCESSED THROUGH THE SYSTEM PANEL.] “Panel?” Rex frowned slightly.
“Where is my panel?” [JUST SAY ‘OPEN PANEL’.] “…Open Panel.” As soon as the words left his mouth, a new virtual screen appeared before his eyes, clearer and more detailed than before.
Host: Rex Lin Age: 12 Strength: 6 (10 – peak human limit) Agility: 6 (10 – peak human limit) Endurance: 5 (10 – peak human limit) Intelligence: 7 (10 – peak human limit) Charm: 7 (10 – peak human limit) Luck: 5 Spirit: 8 Sandbox: Not yet created Subordinates: None Novel Character Subordinates: None Pets: None Inventory: Empty Rex observed the panel carefully, his eyes scanning every detail.
“So this is my current condition…” For a twelve-year-old, these stats were not bad.
In fact, compared to most of his peers, he was already above average.
His intelligence and spirit stood out the most.
A faint sense of satisfaction rose within him.
“At least… I’m not starting from nothing.” His gaze shifted to the lower corner of the panel, where a small icon resembling a wheel and a gift box caught his attention.
He tapped on the gift icon with curiosity.
[CONGRATULATIONS ON OPENING THE STARTER’S GIFT PACK.] Rex straightened unconsciously.
[YOU HAVE OBTAINED: 1 × ROYAL GRADE PERSONAL BUTLER 20 × SERVANTS 100 × SUBORDINATES (INCLUDING BODYGUARDS, ASSASSINS, HACKERS, DRIVERS, PILOTS) YOU HAVE OBTAINED: 40% SHARES OF COSMIC CORNER COMPANY NOTE: THIS IS A ONE-TIME STARTER BENEFIT.
NO DIRECT FUNDS OR ASSETS WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE FUTURE.] For a moment, Rex remained completely still.
Then- His breathing grew slightly heavier.
“…Royal grade butler…” Even without seeing him, Rex could already imagine what that meant.
Someone trained to serve the nobles and royals.
Someone capable, loyal, and efficient.
And the subordinates… Bodyguards.
Assassins.
Hackers.
A complete force.
His gaze darkened slightly.
“…And the company.” Cosmic Corner.
In his previous life, it wasn’t a global giant, but it was strong- strong enough to influence an entire state and on the verge of expanding nationally.
A slow smile appeared on his face.
“This…” “…changes things.” But just as his thoughts began to deepen- Knock knock.
The sound snapped him back.
He closed the panel instantly and walked toward the door.
Opening it, he saw Sandy standing there, his mouth stuffed with food as usual.
“What’s wrong with you?” Sandy asked, narrowing his eyes.
“You’ve been acting weird since morning.
Don’t tell me you’re an alien who took over my friend.” Rex rolled his eyes.
“Stop your nonsense and get going.
I’ll meet you in class.” He paused slightly before adding, “And I won’t be staying in the dormitory anymore.
I’ll switch to a normal schedule.” Sandy blinked.
“What?
Why?
Didn’t you hate that place before?” “It’s not about liking or disliking,” Rex replied calmly.
“There are things I need to do.
I can’t do them from here.” Sandy shrugged.
“Whatever.
We’ll still meet every day anyway.” After class, Rex went to the staff room.
“Mr.
Rowan, I would like to change my current arrangement.
I want to shift to the schedule of a local student.” Mr.
Rowan looked at him for a moment.
“Are you sure?
You’ll lose your dormitory.
And given your family situation… will this not affect your studies?” Rex met his gaze steadily.
“It won’t be a problem, sir.” There was no hesitation in his voice.
After a brief pause, Mr.
Rowan nodded.
“Very well.
It will be processed.
You can leave tomorrow.” The next day, Rex packed his belongings and left the dormitory.
Standing outside, he looked at the bustling street.
For a moment, he remained still.
Then he took a deep breath and stepped forward.
In the cab, he leaned back slightly and asked inwardly, “Alice, where are the subordinates I received?” [THEY ARE STORED IN SYSTEM SPACE.
THE HOST MAY SUMMON THEM AT ANY TIME.] “…Good.” When he arrived, Rex stood in front of the old mud house.
His home.
The place where everything had once begun… …and where everything had fallen apart.
His eyes turned cold for a brief moment.
“…This place.” Memories surfaced- arguments, tension, silent suffering.
He suppressed the emotions quickly and stepped inside.
Everything was the same.
The small kitchen to the west.
The storeroom to the east.
Two rooms to the north.
And farther left, the area where they kept their cows.
Nothing had changed.
Yet everything felt different.
Inside, he saw his mother.
She sat quietly, working on a piece of cloth.
Her movements were steady… but slow.
Tired.
Rex’s steps unconsciously slowed.
“…Mom.” Jasmine looked up.
A gentle smile appeared on her face, though the fatigue in her eyes couldn’t be hidden completely.
“How are you?
You came back early.” Rex nodded slightly.
“I changed my schedule.” She didn’t question further.
Instead, she stood up and walked inside, returning a moment later with a small box.
“This is for you.” Rex looked at it, slightly confused.
“A phone,” she said softly.
“Your father bought it.
He said you’ll need it for your studies.” Rex froze.
“A… phone?” In their current situation, even small expenses were carefully considered.
And yet- His father still bought this for him.
His fingers tightened slightly as he took it.
“…Thank you.” He lowered his head slightly, hiding the emotions in his eyes.
In his previous life… he hadn’t noticed these small things.
Now- They felt heavier than anything else.
After a simple meal, Rex quietly left the house and walked toward the lake nearby.
The surroundings were calm.
Isolated.
Perfect.
He stopped and looked ahead.
“Alice… summon the royal grade butler.” A faint light appeared.
Then- A middle aged man materialized.
His expression composed.
His posture straight, his aura calm yet imposing.
“Greetings, Master.” Rex observed him silently for a moment.
“What is your name?” “Jonathan Jones.” Rex nodded.
“Jonathan… you will go to the Cosmic Corner Company.” His tone was calm, but firm.
“Take control of it.” He paused briefly.
“I will assign you personnel.
Use them as needed.” His gaze sharpened slightly.
“Your first priority is to assist my father in resolving the land dispute.” “And…” “…gather evidence.” There was no need to say more.
Jonathan lowered his head slightly.
“I understand, Master Rex.
I will not disappoint you.” Rex looked at him for a moment, then nodded.
“Alice, summon fifty subordinates.” Light flashed.
Figures appeared one after another.
Rex glanced at their data briefly.
Peak human condition.
Efficient and reliable.
“For now, you will follow Jonathan,” Rex said calmly.
“Carry out his orders.” His voice lowered slightly.
“Remain low-profile.” “This is only the beginning.” The group responded in unison.
“Yes, Master.” Rex looked at them, his expression calm.
But within his eyes- Something had changed.
The first move had been made.
And this time- He would not lose.
