"What did you say?" Chen Cheng didn’t quite catch it at first.

What did he mean, "I’ll teach you how to get Legacy gear"?

Doesn’t this stuff purely drop from Abyss Party dungeons and hidden map bosses? Or from opening pots? The first two required a certain level of strength and luck, while opening pots relied entirely on luck. That was why Legacy equipment was so rare.

But... He quickly realized something, his eyes snapping from the computer screen to Chen Ye’s face in horror.

"Y-you’re not... using hacks, are you?!"

"Do you think I’m capable of that?" Chen Ye countered.

"No!" Chen Cheng quickly shook his head, but then immediately asked, "Then what is it? Tell me!"

If there was really a way to farm Legacy gear, or even Pink gear, he would make an absolute killing! Even if mass production drove the prices down, he’d still profit. However, he needed to know the cost first.

Chen Ye didn’t hide anything. He never intended to keep it a secret anyway; he had to use this short-lived bug to cash out quickly.

"I have a method to guarantee a Legacy item from a pot with a hundred percent success rate." Chen Ye held up two fingers. "Only two thousand."

"There wouldn’t... be any catch, right?" Chen Cheng immediately grew suspicious.

If what Chen Ye said was true—that he could guarantee Legacy drops—then this method was worth well over twenty thousand. Yet Chen Ye was selling it for a mere two thousand.

There had to be a catch!

Chen Ye already knew he would encounter such doubts, so he had prepared an answer in advance.

"This bug definitely won’t last long, and others will probably discover it too. You won’t be able to make that much money off it either, so there’s no need for me to charge an exorbitant price, right?" he said honestly.

"It’s a bug?"

"A bug."

"Deal! I’ll buy it. Teach me!"

Without another word, Chen Cheng pulled an envelope from his pocket and slapped it on the table in front of Chen Ye. Spending two thousand on it, even if he only made four thousand back, he would still be making a killing—not to mention he would definitely make far more than that!

Looking at the envelope next to the mouse, a smile finally appeared on Chen Ye’s face. He set the two thousand aside, asked Weng Jilin to make room, and used his account to demonstrate.

This bug actually exploited the game’s lag. When opening a pot, one simply had to click the very top of the game window to induce a stutter. During that split second of lag, the player could carefully observe what equipment was dropping from the pot. If it was a good item, they would immediately pause for a second before dragging the window to continue the stutter.

To increase the success rate of the lag, he even opened antivirus software like 359 Antivirus and Yinshan Duba to increase the computer’s CPU load.

After repeating this three times, if the stutter revealed Pink or Legacy gear each time, they could cancel the opening process and reopen the pot. This way, the equipment that ultimately came out would almost certainly be a Legacy item.

After Chen Ye’s demonstration, the equipment dealer, who was craning his neck beside him, was completely dumbfounded.

"I-is this illegal?!" It was the first question that popped into the dealer’s mind.

If he ended up behind bars just for a few tens of thousands, the loss would heavily outweigh the gain.

"Multiple batches, small amounts, quick turnarounds. Even Penguin would have a hard time tracing it," Chen Ye said confidently. "As long as you don’t get greedy."

"As long as I don’t get greedy..." Chen Cheng swallowed hard, muttering to himself.

The young man in front of him, Chen Ye, was the one who truly wasn’t greedy. By comparison, despite being eight or ten years older, his own mindset was far inferior. Just moments ago, he had been fantasizing about making hundreds of thousands with this bug.

"Alright. This money was well spent. I definitely learned a lot," Chen Cheng said, patting Chen Ye on the shoulder and nodding with deep emotion.

Chen Ye smiled silently, then said, "Since our business is done, we’ll be going now. Until next time, Chen."

"Until next time." Chen Cheng nodded again.

Seeing this, Chen Ye picked up the envelope and grabbed Weng Jilin, who had just shut down the computer, ready to leave. But before going, he placed the pack of cigarettes and the lighter in front of Chen Cheng.

"I’ll leave these smokes for you."

Without waiting for a reaction, he pulled Weng Jilin along and walked straight out of the internet cafe.

Meanwhile, Weng Jilin looked as if he had lost his soul. It wasn’t until Chen Ye gave him a swift kick that he finally snapped back to reality.

"Holy shit! Where did you learn all that?!" he jolted upright, his face filled with disbelief as he asked.

Chen Ye’s mature and seasoned demeanor was something he had never seen before. It was probably only slightly less polished than his father, a veteran businessman. But compared to him, it was a completely different league.

Just last night, he had wondered if Chen Ye insisted on tagging along today because he didn’t trust him and feared he would pocket the money. But now, Weng Jilin realized how incredibly wrong he had been.

His good brother really came to help him do business!

The catch was, the Chen Ye of the past and the Chen Ye of today were like two completely different people. Had his best friend been possessed? Or awakened some sort of past-life memories?

"Where did you learn all that?!" he couldn’t help but ask again.

"I learned it in a dream," Chen Ye explained with a smile.

Hearing this, Weng Jilin realized Chen Ye wasn’t willing to divulge his secret. He didn’t press further; he understood that everyone had their own secrets. Even if they were as close as blood brothers, Chen Ye wasn’t obligated to tell him everything.

The most important part was that Chen Ye had brought him along to make money!

In truth, Chen Ye could have found anyone to make this money with him, or even borrowed money and done it solo. Yet, he chose him. This was trust! This was love!

Between bros and gold, Chen Ye clearly chose his bro! Since his bro loved his bro so much, there was no way he could choose gold.

"I’ll take two thousand out of this eight grand, that’s enough for me. You can have the rest! And you don’t even need to pay back that three hundred!"

Weng Jilin pulled the stack of cash from his pocket, peeled off twenty bills for himself, and shoved the rest into Chen Ye’s hands. He didn’t even want the three hundred yuan he had loaned him last night. He wasn’t short on cash; he merely enjoyed the thrill of making it. But Chen Ye truly needed the money.

However, Chen Ye shook his head and shoved the two thousand from the envelope into Weng Jilin’s hands.

"I said a fifty-fifty split, so it’s a fifty-fifty split. Even blood brothers need to keep clear accounts." With that, he pulled out another three bills and handed them to Weng Jilin, then wrapped the remaining cash in a plastic bag and stuffed it into his pants pocket. "The two thousand is from selling my technical product, so I won’t be sharing that with you. As for this three hundred, since it was borrowed, it must be repaid."

Weng Jilin looked at the envelope in his hand, then up at Chen Ye’s smiling face. His nose prickled with sudden emotion. Filled with immense pride, he patted Chen Ye’s shoulder.

"Don’t worry, man. I’m putting it out there right now—as long as it’s something I can do, just say the word and I won’t ever turn you down!"

Chen Ye looked at Weng Jilin with a strange expression, utterly baffled as to why the guy had suddenly gotten so fired up.

Were eighteen-year-old boys all highly flammable? They’d spontaneously combust at the slightest bit of heat? He was merely dividing the profits according to their previously agreed-upon ratio. Wasn’t that how it was supposed to be? Repaying debts was perfectly natural, too. He simply couldn’t understand the mindset of a hot-blooded, second-generation rich kid.

Mentally thirty-four years old, Chen Ye shook his head and sighed inwardly.
