At five in the morning, the sky was only beginning to brighten when Yu Xia heard her parents speaking quietly downstairs. She tiptoed down the stairs and saw her father checking the documents inside his briefcase while her mother prepared the things they would need to go out.

“Dad, Mom, what are you getting ready to do?” Yu Xia asked curiously.

“We’re getting revenge for you. Today, I’m going to make them homeless and send them back to their old house in the countryside!” her father said angrily.Full novel: Rebirth: I’m Busy Farming in the Apocalypse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Husband, is everything ready?” Lin Fengxia asked in a lowered voice.

Yu Jianguo pushed up his glasses and patted his bulging briefcase. “The property certificate, ID cards, notarization documents, and power of attorney are all here. I even found the original temporary residence agreement your elder brother signed back then.”

Lin Fengxia handed over two baseball caps and masks. “Put these on. There are surveillance cameras in the residential compound.”

The three of them then drove to the residential compound where Uncle Yu’s family lived. On the way, Yu Jianguo explained the plan in detail. “This house was bought when your mother and I got married. The property certificate has always been under my name, and I have kept the original document all these years. Your uncle was only staying there temporarily. Now we’re taking the house back, along with everything they owe us.”

Yu Xia looked out at the gradually brightening sky, her heart beating faster.

“We’re here.” Her father’s voice pulled her back to reality.

The three of them pretended to be residents out for their morning exercise and slipped into the compound. Yu Xia had already checked the place beforehand and confirmed that her cousin had not yet been discharged from the hospital, while Uncle Yu’s entire family was still there taking care of her.

As soon as the property management office opened, Yu Jianguo walked in with the documents.

“Hello, I’m Yu Jianguo, the owner of Building 3, Unit 502.” He handed the property certificate and his ID to the manager on duty. “I need to urgently sell this property.”

The property manager was a middle-aged man in his forties. After carefully checking the documents, he looked troubled. “Mr. Yu, the current residents, Mr. Yu and his family, have been living here for many years…”

“He’s my biological older brother.” Yu Jianguo had already prepared for this. He took a notarized document from his briefcase. “This is the original House Use Agreement from back then. It clearly states that they only have the right to reside there. As the property owner, I can take the house back at any time.”

While the manager looked through the documents, Lin Fengxia thoughtfully handed him a box of premium tea. “We know this isn’t exactly standard procedure, but we really have an urgent need for the money. Please accept this as a small token of our appreciation.”

Ten minutes later, the manager personally accompanied them to inspect the current condition of the house. Yu Xia quietly took photos of every room with her phone. These could become useful evidence in the future.

“Old Liu, I have a house under my name that I need to sell urgently.” Yu Jianguo called an old classmate. “Jinxiu Garden, 128 square meters. The current market price is around 5.2 million yuan, but I’ll let it go for 4.5 million in cash today.”

An excited voice came from the other end. “Old Yu, wait for me. I have several cash buyers on hand!”

In less than two hours, three investors came one after another to inspect the house. Yu Jianguo introduced it with ease. “It’s fully furnished and ready to move into. If my company weren’t having trouble with its cash flow, I wouldn’t be selling it at this price.”

In the end, a well dressed middle-aged man made the decision. “4.8 million yuan. Let’s sign the contract now!”

The transaction center was exceptionally busy that afternoon, but the documents Yu Jianguo had prepared made the transfer process surprisingly smooth:

The original property certificate

The original ID card

The notarized power of attorney

The property condition confirmation

The tax payment certificate

A staff member routinely asked, “Do you need us to notify the current residents?”

Yu Jianguo answered calmly, “No, I’ve already informed them.”

When the text message confirming that the 4.8 million yuan had been deposited arrived, Yu Xia nearly jumped for joy. Another large sum of money had come in, which meant that there were even more bricks for her apocalypse fortress.

“Let’s go to the hospital and give your uncle the ‘good news.’” A cold glint flashed in Yu Jianguo’s eyes.

Inside the VIP ward of the Municipal Women and Children’s Hospital, Uncle Yu’s family was gathered around the newborn, laughing and celebrating. Uncle Yu’s wife held her grandson in her arms, her face glowing with happiness. “This child really looks just like his father…”

The hospital room door was suddenly pushed open.

“Big Brother, congratulations on the new addition to the family.” Yu Jianguo’s voice instantly silenced the laughter.

Yu Xia looked around the room. That annoying Grandma Yu was actually not there. Thank goodness!

Uncle Yu’s expression changed drastically. “What are you doing here?”

Yu Jianguo calmly took the property transfer documents from his bag. “We came to tell you that I’ve already sold the house in Jinxiu Garden. The new owner should be changing the locks right now.”

“What?!” Uncle Yu suddenly jumped to his feet, his face turning deathly pale. “Yu Jianguo! Have you gone crazy? That’s our home!”

“Legally speaking, it has always been my house.” Yu Jianguo pushed up his glasses. “My name has always been the only name on the property certificate.”

The baby in his cousin’s arms suddenly began crying loudly, and she screamed, “Where are we supposed to live? The baby was just born!”

Yu Xia stepped forward and said sweetly, “Cousin, don’t panic. Doesn’t the hospital allow new mothers to stay for a few more days? If all else fails, you can go to your husband’s family. And if that still doesn’t work, don’t we still have our old home in the village?”

Uncle Yu’s wife trembled with anger and pointed at Lin Fengxia as she cursed, “You’re trying to force us to our deaths!”

“Force you to your deaths?” Lin Fengxia sneered. “Compared with what you did to my daughter, this is already merciful enough.”

The ward instantly fell into an oppressive silence. Uncle Yu’s eyes flickered, and he did not dare meet Lin Fengxia’s gaze.

“Let’s go.” Yu Jianguo put an arm around his wife and daughter’s shoulders. Then he turned back and added, “Oh, right, Big Brother, I’ll give you three days to move out your personal belongings. The new owner won’t be nearly as easygoing as I am.”

On the drive home, Yu Xia looked at the 4.8 million yuan balance in her mobile banking app and let out a long sigh of relief. “Dad, this money is perfect for buying some gold. It’ll be useful as currency after the apocalypse.”

“We’ll exchange it for gold tomorrow.” Yu Jianguo turned the steering wheel. “And I’ll contact the renovation company as well. The solar energy system and water purification equipment all need to be the best.”

Lin Fengxia tightly held her daughter’s hand. “In this life, no one will ever hurt my precious daughter again.”

Yu Xia looked at the hospital gradually disappearing in the rearview mirror, the corners of her lips curling into a cold smile. This was only the beginning.

Over the next few days, Yu Jianguo and Lin Fengxia left early and returned late, frantically purchasing supplies. Yu Xia stayed at the villa, supervising the renovation team while cultivating the spiritual farmland and taking care of the livestock in her space.

The villa renovation was progressing at full speed. The bulletproof glass enclosure had already been partially completed, and the workers were installing the solar panels and energy storage system. Wearing a baseball cap and holding a checklist, Yu Xia carefully checked each item one by one: the bulletproof glass enclosure, solar power generation system, concealed ventilation system, safe room, and automatic water purification system.

Although the workers were curious about why this family was turning their villa into an “apocalypse fortress,” none of them asked questions because of the generous pay.

Once the renovation team finished work for the day, Yu Xia immediately slipped into the space and began her life as a “Peach Blossom farmer.” Holding a hoe, she awkwardly turned over the spiritual soil, which was so dark that it seemed to shine. After only half an hour, blisters had already formed on her palms, and her aching back was so sore that she could barely straighten up.

“Ugh… ‘The farmer hoes the grain beneath the midday sun’ really isn’t a job for humans…” she groaned through gritted teeth as she shook her hands, but when she looked at the neat rows of farmland, she could not help smiling with satisfaction.

As planned, she planted the first batch of crops: fast growing vegetables, staple crops, and medicinal plants. Xiao Tao’s voice rang out in her mind, informing her that the acceleration effect of the spiritual farmland had been activated and that the crops would grow three times faster.

Yu Xia was delighted to discover that the seeds she had just planted had already begun sprouting tiny green shoots.

Inside the livestock sheds, the chicks and ducklings crowded together, chirping noisily, while the lambs bleated. Even the smallest calf adapted quickly and leisurely chewed on the tender grass growing beside the spiritual farmland.

Yu Xia crouched beside the stream, watching fish and shrimp swimming through the clear water. Unable to resist, she reached down and scooped up a handful.

“This water… can really cleanse the body?”

She raised the water to her lips and took a sip. It was sweet and refreshing, and the fatigue in her body immediately eased considerably.

At dusk, Yu Jianguo and Lin Fengxia returned in a fully loaded small truck, the back packed with newly purchased supplies: medical equipment, weapons, and daily necessities.

Yu Xia smiled and handed some spiritual stream water to her mother to help relieve her fatigue.

When Yu Jianguo saw the broken skin on his daughter’s palms, he frowned with concern. “How about hiring two people to help you with the farming?”

“If that were possible, that would be wonderful, but I’m the only one who can enter the space. No one else can get inside!” Yu Xia explained helplessly.

“Then you still can’t work yourself this hard. Make sure you get enough rest.” Lin Fengxia hurried over and began bandaging her daughter’s palms.

“Don’t worry, Mom. I’m fine. The water I just gave you is from the stream in the space. It can strengthen the body and improve your health. I’ve been drinking it too, so I’m sure I’ll become super strong before long. Haha!”

As she spoke, Yu Xia raised her arm and flexed it playfully.

“Yes, yes, super strong. Now let’s disinfect your hands first, so don’t move.” Lin Fengxia spoke with loving affection.

At dinner, the doorbell suddenly rang sharply.

Yu Xia checked the surveillance camera, and her expression instantly darkened. It was Uncle Yu and Grandma Yu!

Ignoring her parents’ astonishment, she turned around, pulled a spiked mace from the storage room, and yanked open the front door. With a loud clang, she planted the mace firmly on the ground.

The moment Grandma Yu saw her stance, she instinctively stepped back half a step, but she quickly put on the airs of an elder again.

“What are you doing? I’m your grandmother! Even your father was raised by me. Are you trying to rebel against heaven now?” Grandma Yu said arrogantly.

“An elder?” Yu Xia sneered. “Grandma, do you remember when you last saw me? It was when you and Uncle Yu dragged me to the hospital to donate blood just to save a few cents! And you still have the nerve to call yourselves my elders? You’re worse than dog shit!”

Uncle Yu flew into a rage. “I didn’t come here today to argue with a little brat like you. You sold the house our entire family was living in, so you owe us compensation for the emotional distress!”

Yu Xia slowly raised the spiked mace, the steel spikes gleaming coldly.

“Uncle Yu, my father’s name is on the property certificate. Legally, that house was never yours.”

She stepped forward and slammed the mace down beside him with a loud clang, sending sparks flying.

“Now get out.”

Grandma Yu stumbled back in fright, while Uncle Yu’s face turned livid. He grabbed Grandma Yu and immediately turned to leave. As they walked away, he continued cursing.

“You uneducated little brat! No wonder you can’t find a husband. You deserve to be alone for the rest of your life!”

Yu Xia picked up the spiked mace and began shouting wildly, looking so ferocious that it seemed as though she might actually kill the mother and son. Terrified, they hurried away.

Yu Xia slammed the door shut with a bang. When she turned around, she found her parents staring at her in stunned silence.

Yu Jianguo swallowed nervously. “Sweetheart, when did you become… this fierce?”

Yu Xia rested the spiked mace on her shoulder and grinned. “It came free with the rebirth.”

For the first time, Yu Xia truly understood the saying: going crazy for a moment feels great, but going crazy all the time feels even better.
