In this world, the humans had achieved the Dao and walked onto the immortal path.
This did not mean that all humans were immortals.
Only about three percent of all humans had the immortal bone, the requirement for one to become an immortal cultivator.
For the wena, this percentage was zero.
For some reason, the wena as a race did not have the ability to generate the immortal bone.
They were the only race to find themselves in this situation.
As the carriage moved towards Yue Immortal Clan, they passed through one village after another.
There were even a few towns, but they were all poverty-stricken and suffering from mortal ailments, just as all mortals were meant to.
The people wore rags and the roads were barely passable.
The villages were filled with huts and the towns had buildings that were on the verge of falling apart.
“The current level of human development, at least in this part of the world, can only be compared to that of the medieval ages back on Soul.
All power and success seems to be in the hands of the immortals.
I bet that the goal for any human is to be born with an immortal bone, as it is most likely the best way to live a decent life in this world.”
This was Kata’s assessment of the situation.
They soon reached the immortal clan, and his assessment was proved correct.
The immortal clan was built in a mountain range that gave off a mysterious aura filled with life and power.
Kata had gained the ability to manipulate all energy, and yet the energy that gathered in this place was out of his grasp.
“This must be the immortal qi I have been hearing so much about,” he thought.
The mountain range had seven peaks that were connected by magnificent golden bridges.
These peaks pierced the clouds above and had waterfalls of water so blue it blinded the eyes.
On these mountain peaks were immortal pavilions and palaces built with such magnificent designs that Kata had never seen anything like them.
This was a truly grand place, not fit for mortals to live.
“Yue Immortal Clan.”
These were the words on the sign above.
When Kata looked at the words, countless images of wars, magnificent victories, and dreadful beasts passed through his mind, making him fall to his knees.
He did not dare look at the sign after that.
The group was inspected from head to toe, and Kata had to answer countless questions before the two guards at the entrance allowed them to pass.
As he passed through the gate, Kata felt something like a curtain of energy pass through him, making note of everything he was.
He could have sworn that the moment he passed through the gate, it glowed with a faint red light that was barely restrained by the guards.
Now that they had arrived, the human servants went to their rightful places, leaving only Kata without anywhere to go.
He was told to wait by the gate and after a few minutes, a young woman came over on a flying sword.
She was clearly an immortal.
She gave off the same ethereal aura as Yue Juechen.
The woman was not the most beautiful, but she was more than enough for the kings of two small counties to go to war over her.
She did not get off her sword, instead stopping a few inches above Kata’s head.
She looked down on him with clear abhorrence.
Kata could feel her emotions towards him, but he remained calm and hoped that she did not cut him down with her sword.
He had a feeling that no one would punish her for doing just that.
“You will be coming with me,” the woman said.
Kata did not have the chance to object.
The next thing he knew, he was being lifted off the ground and in the next instant, the woman shot away with her sword, moving faster than sound.
Kata felt as though he had an invisible rope around him.
This rope was tied to the sword, pulling him along.
At this speed, a normal person could have died, but fortunately, Kata was a wena and his body had been refined by radiation.
He barely felt any pain or discomfort, but he knew better than to show this to his abuser.
The woman had clearly done this to remind him of his place in the world.
If he were to show that he was unbothered by her actions, she was sure to do something even worse.
Kata therefore screamed like a little girl, and when they reached their destination and he was thrown to the ground, he used his tongue to force himself to vomit. Visit g.com for the full chapter.
When he felt that the woman was fully satisfied by what her actions had brought about, Kata stood up on trembling legs and bowed deeply.
“This is a good start.
Now, give me your hand,” she ordered.
Kata gave her his right hand.
This was the one he could cut off if the need ever arose.
She grabbed his hand and forced a ring on his middle finger.
The moment the ring was put in place, Kata felt a coldness move to fill his soul.
The moment this coldness appeared in his Soul, the God Spark reacted instantly, releasing a warm wave of power that wiped it out instantly.
It was as though this power never existed from the very start.
“Now that you have put on the slave ring, you can be trusted to always follow orders,” the woman said.
Kata broke out in a sweat at this.
From everything that had just happened, he deduced that if he did not have the God Spark, the cold energy that had tried to fill his soul would have taken hold, overriding his free will, turning him into some sort of perfect slave.
The woman threw a small hammer onto the ground, right before Kata’s legs.
“Use that to smash your right hand,” the woman ordered.
Without thinking even for a second, Kata reached down and grabbed the hammer.
He placed his hand on the ground and brought down the hammer with all the power expected from a normal wena.
Bones shattered and blood splashed in all directions.
Since the woman said nothing to stop him from continuing, Kata raised the hammer and brought it down a second time.
There was a third and a fourth before the woman gave another order.
“Stop screaming,” she said.
Kata closed his mouth and brought the hammer down for a fifth and sixth time before the woman was convinced that Kata had truly been tamed by the slave ring.
Comment it and let me know. Thanks .
