By the time he was done, Kata’s hand was a mess with bones, flesh and muscle coming together to form a kind of horror very few people get to see or hear about.

The woman left him outside the small pavilion after giving him a few orders.

Kata crawled into the house and there, his body rapidly healed.Full novel: Rebirth of the Boundless Tyrant — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Within a few seconds, he was back to normal and the pained look on his face was replaced with that of hatred beyond measure.

Kata had only cried out because that was what was expected of him.

He had gone through pains greater than this and so there was no reason for him to cry out so much and even have his snot and tears form such a sorry appearance.

“Every dog has its day,” he said before sitting down on the small bed.

This pavilion had been assigned to him as his home.

As a personal slave, he was spared from living with the other slaves.

The pavilion had three rooms and a kitchen.

There was even a small backyard with a few plants growing there.

Kata looked through the house and after getting used to its layout and making note of all the escape routes, he began thinking about his next plans.

‘Now that I am in the real world, I can get more information about this world and find a way to blend in.’

The black ring on his left hand looked normal, but he knew that if it had not been for the God Spark, he would not be the perfect slave, only thinking about what was best for his master.

When night came, Kara came to the pavilion, escorted by Yue Juechen.

The two walked over the walkway in a slow manner.

They casually chatted and the smile on Yue Juechen’s face made Kata realize that things were about to become more complicated.

For the first time since he came to this world, Kata ate some good food.

This was brought over by Kara.

She said that it was a gift from their master.

Kara also did not have a slave ring.

Two years later.

Kata understood that he was a slave and had to keep a low profile.

In these two years, Kata did as he was ordered.

Yue Juechen’s first order was for Kata to install indoor plumbing into his pavilion.

Yue Juechen’s pavilion was far grander than the small one where Kata lived with his mother.

Kata was introduced to a blacksmith, a human slave who worked for the Yue clan.

The man was in charge of forging all sorts of mundane items such as knives for the clan.

From this man, Kata learned as much as he could as they forged the pipes and other things he needed for the plumbing job.

Kata installed the items and when he was done, news of this new miracle spread through the clan.

Over these past two years, Kata became the plumber of this immortal clan.

He had to keep his head down and install running water, bathrooms and modern toilets in all the pavilions and palaces in the clan.

Through this, Kata became one of the most valuable slaves.

He was of course ordered to teach everything he knew to a group of slaves and Kata did not dare object.

He gave away this knowledge without feeling any pain.

To him, this was outdated science used in the dark ages of Soul/earth.

With his two years of loyal service and the slave ring on his finger, Kata finally gained some level of trust and through this, he got access to books about history, geography and everything in between.

This was basic information, but for a slave, it was more than they were owed.

Kata also got permission to visit the slave camp.

He used the excuse that he wanted to visit his friends.

Kata did not have any friends, but the Yue clan did not know this.

Since he had the slave ring, they also believed that this was meant to somehow benefit his masters and so they let him go.

After Kata left over two years ago, she had wisely returned to the camp as Kata had suggested.

This way, she stayed away from the whims of the new immortal lord.

Kata spent a few minutes speaking with Lasu.

Kata had by now learned how to read and write using the new language of this world.

After confirming that Lasu knew how to read, Kata handed her a few papers on which he had written detailed instructions on what she had to do in his name.

After that, Kata wasted no time.

Over the past two years, he had not taken in any more radiation and so he had not increased his power at all, but he had mastered the power he could produce, gaining more control than before.

In this time, he had gained a new ability.

He was now able to see the flow of energy in the world.

In the forest, his eyes glowed with a green light.

At first, everything was blinding.

If he had not practiced for years, he would have to give up now and go back.

In this kaleidoscope of power, sunlight wasn’t simply illumination; it was chaotic high-frequency radiation that triggered molecular explosions of photosynthesis.

Trees were translucent towers that contained neon-like veins of flowing water surrounded by electromagnetic auras.

The earth glowed with thermal heat from decomposition and a pulsing bio-electric network due to fungal highways.

He saw air currents swirling about and cosmic rays slicing through the canopy.

Kata blinked a few times and he finally managed to focus on the energy he was interested in.

He focused on a high-frequency beacon cutting through the forest’s natural flow.

This unnatural luminescence left a thermal trail of ionized air and decayed matter.

He followed the bright, vibrating line of unstable energy until he reached the swamp where he had hunted the cockroaches.

He did not hesitate before jumping into the depths of the swamp to continue following the radiation.
