Luo Yunxi paid no attention to where Feng Moxi was putting all the supplies.

She quickly found a large hiking backpack and stuffed it full of candy, chocolate, biscuits, ham sausages, instant noodles, canned food, and anything else that looked filling.

These kinds of food kept hunger at bay and were easy to eat on the move.Full novel: Reborn Apocalyptic Boss with a Space — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Just as the two of them were finishing up, the back door suddenly burst open.

The bearded Wan Yong strode inside with his broadsword in hand.

Black blood still dripped from the blade, and the lingering aura of battle clung to him.

He frowned as he looked around the convenience store, which had already been picked over. There didn’t seem to be much left.

The young man with the metal-element ability let out a chuckle. His gaze fell on the bulging backpack strapped to Luo Yunxi’s back, and he snorted.

“You two sure know how to take advantage of an opportunity.”

As he spoke, he grabbed a backpack of his own and began stuffing supplies into it without restraint.

Luo Yunxi curled her lips in disdain.

Feng Moxi acted as though she hadn’t heard a single word and ignored him completely.

“Damn it, what kind of lousy convenience store is this? Not even a pack of toilet paper left. What rotten luck.”

The young man cursed while glaring viciously at Luo Yunxi’s overstuffed backpack.

There was an unmistakable greed in his eyes.

Luo Yunxi instinctively shielded her backpack behind her.

“I didn’t see any either. Maybe someone else took them already.”

Feng Moxi couldn’t be bothered arguing with them.

She had already noticed the small shop next door.

It appeared to be a seed store.

The mysterious space inside her mind suddenly came to the forefront of her thoughts. If it truly contained farmland where crops could be grown…

The idea alone made her eager to find out.

No matter how many supplies one stockpiled, they would eventually run out in the apocalypse.

But if food could be grown…

Four years after the apocalypse, people had become so desperate that even insects and ants weren’t spared.

If the researchers at the academy hadn’t eventually discovered that the meat of mutated animals was edible, human flesh might well have become a sought-after commodity.

Without another word, she grabbed Luo Yunxi and headed next door.

To their surprise, both the front and back doors of the seed shop were still securely closed.

Inside, baskets of seeds were neatly arranged everywhere.

There were also countless small packets of vegetable, grain, and flower seeds.

Feng Moxi collected every single one.

Only then did both of them finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Luo Yunxi dug two ham sausages out of her overstuffed backpack and happily tore into one.

“So good! It’s been ages since I’ve been able to eat like this.”

Feng Moxi peeled open one herself and slowly took a bite.

As she chewed, her thoughts drifted toward the shop next door.

It looked like a seasoning store.

She definitely couldn’t leave that untouched either.

Wan Yong and the others had probably worked up quite an appetite by now. They were likely busy eating and drinking in the convenience store and wouldn’t have time to pay attention to the two of them.

Once they had finished eating, they quickly forced open the seasoning shop.

Like the convenience store before it, the earthquake had knocked countless glass bottles from the shelves.

Broken glass and spilled seasonings covered the floor.

The place looked as though it had already been looted.

Even so, Feng Moxi immediately spotted five large boxes of salt stacked in one corner.

Without hesitation, she stored away four of them.

Then she selected a variety of intact seasonings and spices.

Luo Yunxi’s eyes widened in astonishment.

No matter how slow she might be, she now understood.

Feng Moxi possessed the legendary storage space.

Even more unbelievable was the fact that it seemed to hold an endless amount of supplies.

Noticing Feng Moxi’s questioning look, Luo Yunxi hurriedly covered her own mouth and shook her head frantically.

“I don’t know anything! I didn’t see a thing!”

“Good girl.”

Just then, He Ping walked into the shop.

His eyes casually swept around before settling on the remaining box of salt.

A faint glimmer flashed through Feng Moxi’s eyes.

This man had foresight.

People could survive without many things, but in the future, salt would become one of the most valuable resources of all.

Meanwhile, the open storefronts nearby allowed the monsters to hear voices from inside.

More and more of them gradually converged on the area.

The farther they advanced, the greater the number of monsters they encountered.

The alleys also became increasingly narrow.

Collapsed buildings and wrecked vehicles blocked almost every intersecting road.

The distant sounds of barking dogs and crowing chickens echoed eerily through the streets.

Before long, it became impossible to push any farther.

Without anyone realizing it, the sky gradually darkened.

In the distance, countless monsters began growing restless.

Their roars became louder and more frequent.

He Ping approached the two women and spoke quietly.

“It’s getting dark. What are your plans?”

Feng Moxi remained expressionless.

“This place isn’t safe.”

He Ping felt exactly the same.

Monsters became far more active after nightfall.

These doors and windows might not be enough to keep them out.

More importantly, he still had elderly people and children traveling with his group.

Wan Yong and the others were also nearing the end of their strength.

He Ping lowered his voice.

“We’re pulling back. We’ll return tomorrow.”

In the end, they carried off the last remaining box of salt and quickly began retreating.

Seeing this, Luo Yunxi hurried back into the convenience store and came dragging out a large sack of rice.

Grinning proudly, she said,

“I can still carry it!”

Feng Moxi was instantly speechless.

She hurried over, took the sack from her, tossed it into her storage space, then rushed back into the convenience store.

With a casual sweep of her hand, every remaining item inside disappeared.

The entire store was emptied in an instant.

The two of them quickly withdrew.

By then, Wan Yong and the others had already disappeared without a trace.

As they crossed the bridge, they conveniently dragged several wooden obstacles over to block the entrance.

Only after finishing those preparations did they leave with peace of mind.

By the time they returned to the small two-story house, He Ping’s group had already gathered in the courtyard and begun eating dinner.

When they saw Feng Moxi and Luo Yunxi return with nothing more than the same backpacks they had left with, several people secretly shook their heads.

These girls are still too inexperienced.

They don’t understand how hard life is in the apocalypse.

How can they expect to stay full without bringing back staple foods?

Tomorrow’s clearing operation will be even more dangerous.

He Ping held a bowl of steaming white rice topped with a generous serving of cabbage, potatoes, and canned meat stew.

Smiling warmly, he called out,

“If you two don’t mind, come eat with us.”

Luo Yunxi’s eyes immediately lit up at the sight of food.

Feng Moxi wasn’t much different.

But after noticing more than a dozen pairs of eyes staring at them like hungry wolves, Feng Moxi replied casually,

“No thanks. We have food of our own.”

The two women turned around and headed toward the separate little house.

From the day’s fighting, Feng Moxi had already formed an assessment of the group.

Their teamwork and combat coordination were excellent.

Unfortunately, there were simply too many ordinary people.

Among them, only Wan Yong, He Ping, and the young man with the metal-element ability possessed supernatural powers.

Even then, none of them had mastered their abilities very well.

Most of the time, they still relied on conventional weapons.

If they hadn’t all been young, physically fit, and worked together so well, they probably wouldn’t have lasted this long.

As soon as they entered the house, Luo Yunxi began complaining.

“What a bunch of people. They started dinner before we even got back. They obviously never planned on inviting us. Hmph, I wouldn’t have eaten with them anyway.”

Back when they were starving, she’d even eaten moldy steamed buns.

There wasn’t really anything she would turn her nose up at.

“Xiaoxi, what should we eat?”

Feng Moxi looked toward the brick stove in the kitchen and the pile of firewood stacked beside it.

The disaster had struck without warning.

Both the electricity and the water supply had long since been cut off.

“Let’s keep it simple. We’ll cook some instant noodles.”

“Sounds good!”

Luo Yunxi enthusiastically unpacked the supplies she had collected from the convenience store.

“I’ll start the fire, you do the cooking.”

She rummaged through the pile of firewood until she found a lighter.

After several attempts, the flames finally caught.
