"How are they forged?" Alexander asked. In his hands he held a weapon that even the gods feared. Its aura wrapped around the entire room, dwarfing even Merlin’s presence.

"Chaos weapons are the result of countless deaths. They are created when a weapon witnesses a thousand wars. The blood and souls of fallen are drawn into the sword and that results in the creation of a weapon that can cut even reality itself," Merlin said. "Out of fear of these weapons, the gods and the demons forged an alliance in order to destroy every last one of these weapons. But it seems they failed."

The pulsing of the sword made Alexander’s skin crawl. Red energy seemed to leak out of it, and anyone who held it would be afraid.Full novel: REBORN AS HEIR TO THE TYRANT KING — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"But how did your people manage to hide this from the gods?" Merlin asked Xolo, who was recovering in bed.

"I have no idea why the gods didn’t come for this one. It has been in this kingdom for centuries, and they say it belonged to the great hero," Xolo said.

A smile grew on Merlin’s face. He finally realized why it was left alone.

"Fear. The weapon frightened them just like the man who once wielded it frightened them. A curse was probably placed upon it by the great hero Ademus," Merlin said.

"How strong was Ademus?" Alexander asked, curious to know about a man whose legacy spans centuries.

Merlin paused for a moment, reminiscing about his adventures with Ademus and his old friends. "He was the strongest mortal I have ever met, but he was also the kindest. He once punched a demon so hard that it crashed into one of the moons," Merlin said as he chuckled. "If there will be a person like him again, then the world will know peace once more."

A loud knock at the door interrupted their conversation. When Alexander opened the door, he saw a woman with dark hair and golden eyes. Her expression was one of fear, and her hands were shaking uncontrollably.

"Are you alright, my lady?" Alexander asked the strange woman. She pushed herself through the door and grabbed Merlin’s robe.

Merlin helped her stand up. "Do not fight him. For the sake of this world do not fight him. Only the golden child is meant to defeat him," she said, and slowly lost consciousness. Everyone in the room was puzzled by what the woman said.

"Who is this woman?" Merlin asked Xolo.

"She’s the great witch of our kingdom. She is the one that foresaw your arrival," Xolo said. "But she can also be weird."

"But what did she mean when she said do not fight him?" he asked, but even Xolo was clueless.

"I don’t know. We will just have to wait until she wakes up," he said.

Fear of the unknown made Merlin anxious. Who was she talking about? he thought to himself. But standing around wouldn’t solve anything, so he teleported out of the room, leaving Alexander behind.

THE SKY KING

Merlin stood on the tallest tree in the Sol Kingdom, watching over everything that transpired. The warning the witch left him still lingered in his mind. What was coming to this kingdom that wasn’t meant for him to fight? Merlin wondered.

Nothing in the kingdom seemed different, and the magical energy in the air didn’t feel corrupt. But something was coming, it was moving from continent to continent at a speed which would shatter reality itself.

"What the hell?" Merlin said to himself as the thing finally arrived. A lone man floating in the sky was all he saw, and he finally realized the warning the witch gave him.

He teleported back to the ship where he found Laila and the others still sunbathing. "Laila, Damon, take Dante inside the ship and start sailing," Merlin said, concerned about what would happen if a fight started. "Sail as far as you can. I will go get Alexander," he said and disappeared.

Merlin reappeared in Xolo’s room again. The fear on his face was obvious. "What’s wrong, Merlin?" Alexander asked.

"We have to go, now. If we stay here we will only bring destruction. The gods have somehow found us," Merlin said.

"We will help you fight whatever comes for you guys," Xolo said. But this was more complicated than fighting normal holy knights.

"They sent a general of the holy knights. One who has the blood of the gods in them, and I can’t fight against him because of the deal I made with the Anunnakis," Merlin tried explaining. "I’m sorry, Xolo, but we have to leave. Say goodbye to your father for me."

Merlin grabbed Alexander’s shoulder and teleported out. They landed on the ship, and Laila smiled when she saw Merlin back.

Their ship was now far away from the Sol Kingdom, and Merlin finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"What did you mean when you said you can’t fight against the enemy?" Alexander asked.

"I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but when I made the deal with the Anunnaki to spare. I was told to never fight against the gods, or anyone with their blood, which the generals of the holy knights carry in them," Merlin said. "If I ever lay my hands on the gods or their bloodline, then I risk the safety of this world."

"And you didn’t think to tell us earlier? Then what the hell is the chaos weapon for if you can’t even use it?" Alexander asked in anger.

"I was hoping you would use it. Plus our goal right now isn’t to fight the gods, it’s for you to get strong enough to face the fallen ones who took over your kingdom," Merlin said.

"Alright, but you will have to teach me—"

"Hello, great wizard," a man spoke over Merlin’s shoulder. Fear was the only thing Merlin felt at that moment.

The moment he turned around, he saw a man with bright blue eyes and brown hair standing right behind him. His silver armor lined with gold, and the white cape on his back showed just how important he was in the ranks of the holy knights.

"Who are you?" Merlin asked.

"I’m Sir William, a general in the holy knights. But most just call me the Sky King," he said with a sinister smile. "Anyway, I was sent here to retrieve that little monster over there," he said as he pointed at Dante.

"You think we are just going to let you get Dan—" Alexander’s head was ripped off his body before he could even finish talking. Laila gasped out in fear, but oddly Merlin just stood there and did nothing.

"I’m sorry for killing your blubbering friend, great wizard. I’m just here for the kid, so there isn’t any need for more deaths," Sir William said, as he dropped Alexander’s head on the ground. His demeanor was that of a man who has never known defeat.

But something started happening to Dante’s body that shocked sir William. His head was slowly regenerating and in a few seconds he had fully healed. Alexander got up and stretched his neck. His healing technique had saved him once more.

"What the hell?" Sir William muttered.

"As the boy was about to say before you rudely ripped off his head, you think we are just going to give you the kid?" Merlin said.

Sir William walked to a chair and sat down. He looked at Merlin and said, "You know you can’t hurt me. If you try that, then you will cause the deaths of billions, so just give me the kid."

Merlin laughed out. He was sick of this man and the disrespect he had endured because of the stupid deal he made with the Anunnakis. "It seems the gods have stopped teaching you brats about my kind. I can’t kill you, I know, but there are fates far worse than death."

"KÁ: WORLD OF EMPTINESS," Merlin chanted. Reality started glitching, and everything around them slowly disappeared until there was nothing but emptiness.

"Where are we?" Sir William said. Every direction he looked, he saw nothing but whiteness. His throat felt dry and it seemed like thousands of needles were stabbing his body.

"This is my KÁ. It’s a technique not a lot of people have. The technique allows the creation of an entirely separate world based on one’s soul, but sadly my soul empty," Merlin said. "You said I couldn’t hurt you, and you were right about that. But the deal never said anything about sealing your kind," Merlin said with a sinister smile.

"Don’t worry, you won’t age or die in this world, as time doesn’t move. Nothing exists here except a white light."

"You will doom us all you stupid wizard! Aren’t you curious why the king of hell himself came to this world to create a single child?" Sir William asked.

"I already know why he did it. That’s why I’m keeping an eye on the child," Merlin said as he started preparing to leave this separate world.

"I will leave this world someday and I will come after you and everything you love!" Sir William screamed out in anger.

"I will be waiting," Merlin said, as he teleported out of his KÁ.
