"Where is it, where is it?" Merlin said as he flipped through the pages of a huge book.

He stood in a huge room inside the Zaloa museum. Old knight armor and paintings could be seen all around. Laila and Damon were behind him, also flipping through some books.

Laila’s eyes shined bright from excitement.Full novel: REBORN AS HEIR TO THE TYRANT KING — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Merlin? Damon? I think I found it. I think I found the sword of the Demiurge," she said as she carried the heavy book to Merlin.

They placed it on the table, and a loud thud echoed through the room. The book was titled "lost words of the demiurge."

"For the first men it was hope, for the gods it was fear, and for the primordials it was the end. A sword forged from the blood of the fallen Demiurge, creatures from beyond the stars," Merlin read the first page of the book.

"The sword lies between the kingdom of man and the kingdom of giants. A place only fools would dare go, and where heroes fall. But whoever wields this sword shall control the world," Merlin read from the second page. The look on his face didn’t look like one of hope; it was fear.

"Where is that? What lies between the kingdom of man and giants?" Damon asked.

"Only death lies there. No man has ever gone to that place and lived," Merlin let out a sigh of frustration. "They call it the land of monsters, and truly only fools go there."

Laila and Damon didn’t even dare ask any more questions. They knew if anything made Merlin feel fear, then it was definitely not worth chasing.

"So what now? Do we give up on it?" Damon asked.

"If I went alone, there is a higher chance I might survive ," Merlin said, but Laila didn’t like that idea. She insisted on following, but Merlin said no.

"What about me? I can’t die because of my curse, so can I accompany you," Damon said. Merlin thought for a moment but eventually agreed.

"You should know, though, it won’t be an easy journey," Merlin said. "It will take us around 8 to 10 months to return."

"It’s alright. I’ve been through worse," Damon said with a laugh. The man was mysterious, and Merlin didn’t even know where to start to ask about his life and how he was cursed with immortality.

"Alright, Damon. Then we shall start our journey tomorro-" A sharp pain in his chest made Merlin drop to the ground. When he looked over at Laila and Damon, they were both on the ground.

’This can’t be. Erebus?’ Merlin thought to himself. "REIRRAB," he chanted a spell and a barrier formed around Laila and Damon.

They finally managed to stand up, and the sharp pain in his chest stopped.

"What the hell was that?" Laila asked as she struggled to catch her breath. The magical aura that came at them was so immense that it made even Merlin drop to the ground. This was not the magic of any normal creature.

"I have to go. I will explain later," Merlin said as he teleported out of the room they were in, leaving Damon and Laila inside his barrier.

BLOOD OF TUEFEL

Merlin arrived inside the arena, and in front of him Alexander stood. He was draped in all black, and the sword he held gave off the most evil magical energy Merlin had ever felt.

He had found Perseus inside the arena. They looked at the students in the audience and they were all knocked out by the magical energy that came from Alexander’s sword.

"What the hell is that, Merlin?" Perseus asked, as sweat rolled down his face.

"It’s Darkness," Merlin said as his hands were twitching from fear. "It’s Erebus."

"Erebus? Who... what is that?" Perseus asked.

The deep breath Merlin took before answering was evident of how much this creature had tormented him. "He is a primordial being. Born from his own hatred, and the darkness that surrounded him," Merlin said.

"They say he was once a human, and he is the only mortal to have ever been given the status of primordial," he said as he clenched his fist. "And this bastard is responsible for the destruction of my kingdom, my world."

Tears rolled down Merlin’s face, and the pain he had closed off for so many years finally came out.

Alexander looked confused, as he was slowly being consumed by the darkness of Erebus. He tried to fight it off, but it was too late. His body was fully covered in black tar and a crown formed on his head.

A smile appeared on his face, and the black tar slowly changed to skin. The face that appeared on Alexander wasn’t his, and his white hair had turned black.

"Erebus," Merlin said to the creature inhabiting Alexander. It looked at Merlin with a confused expression.

"Who are you?" it asked.

"I am the great wizard Merlin. Brother to the great king, Arthur of Camelot. I shall destroy you for the crimes you committed in my kingdom," Merlin said in anger. He summoned both his staff and chaos weapon.

"I do not know who you are, mortal," Erebus said. "Now, move. I have to go burn some traitors."

Merlin’s anger overwhelmed him. He teleported right in front of Erebus, sword ready to stab the primordial being.

The sound of a sword crashing into armor echoed around the arena. Erebus had stopped Merlin’s slash with a single hand.

Black armor started covering Erebus, and he stabbed Merlin in the chest with the chaos weapon he had come out of. Blood gushed out of Merlin’s mouth, and his entire chest was split open.

"I don’t have time to deal with mortals today," Erebus said as he dropped Merlin’s body to the ground.

Merlin’s breath slowly faded. Perseus ran towards him.

"Merlin? Merlin?" he called out to him, but blood kept flowing from his chest. He tried performing a healing spell, but it wasn’t working. The chaos weapon prevented his wounds from healing. "Come on, Merlin, please wake up."

Erebus looked behind at Merlin. "You could have lived, mortal," he said as he prepared to fly out of the school.

The Uzu in the air started moving towards Merlin, and Erebus stopped. He looked at Merlin, and the Uzu in the air was slowly healing him.

A halo appeared on Merlin’s head, and wings faded in and out of existence. His blond hair shined brighter, and when his eyes opened, power blasted everything in sight to the wall.

Erebus smiled at the sight of Merlin. "The child of Tuefel. So you are Lucifer’s grandchild?" Erebus said.

Merlin stood up, and the power he felt inside himself was so immense. He looked at Perseus and he had a look of surprise on his face.

"You finally awakened?" Perseus said, overwhelmed by the power inside Merlin.

Every creature in this world felt the awakening of Merlin. Even the gods stood from their thrones that day.
