Several of the female educated youths saw Qin Siyu and Feng Jiaojiao arguing and hurried over to stop them. They couldn’t let things escalate into a fight.

“Educated Youth Qin, let’s talk things out calmly. We’ve all lived together for so long. Don’t let a little disagreement ruin everyone’s relationship. Wouldn’t that just make us a laughingstock?” Wang Yan tried to mediate.

“Exactly. Feng Jiaojiao, did you do something that hurt Qin Siyu? Hurry up and apologize to her.”Full novel: Reborn into the 1970s: Starting as the Cannon-Fodder Female Supporting Character — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Zhao Meili had never liked Feng Jiaojiao much. Now that the two had fallen out, she was practically delighted to watch the drama unfold.

“This has nothing to do with any of you. Please go outside for a while. We’ll settle this ourselves.”

Feng Jiaojiao knew they needed to clear things up. She absolutely didn’t want to be branded as the woman who stole her best friend’s beloved man.

She still had to live here.

A woman with a ruined reputation was in a dangerous position.

Before long, all kinds of thugs and shameless men might start coming after her.

“This…”

“Just go outside.”

Wang Yan was worried the two girls might actually start fighting and was about to say something else, but Qin Siyu interrupted her.

She wanted to hear what Feng Jiaojiao had to say.

“Let’s go! We tried to help, and now we’re getting blamed for it. Let them sort it out themselves. Otherwise, what if they make up later and we end up being the villains?”

Zhao Meili dragged Wang Yan and Song Laidi back to the east room they shared.

The educated youth compound consisted of three main rooms, two side rooms, a kitchen, and a storage room.

The west room was slightly smaller and was occupied by Qin Siyu and Feng Jiaojiao.

The larger east room belonged to Wang Yan, Zhao Meili, and Song Laidi, who shared it together.

The two side rooms housed the four male educated youths—Zhao Gang, Li Hongyu, Xiao Zhifeng, and Zhang Qiang—with two people to each room.

Now that only the two of them remained inside, Feng Jiaojiao no longer had any reservations.

She loosened the front of her clothes.

“You… Feng Jiaojiao, what are you doing? Have you gone crazy?!”

Qin Siyu never expected Feng Jiaojiao to start undressing.

“Weren’t you asking what happened? This is why.”

Feng Jiaojiao pulled off her clothes in one motion, leaving herself in nothing but her undergarments.

When Qin Siyu saw the bruises covering Feng Jiaojiao’s body, her eyes turned red with anger.

She wanted nothing more than to scratch Feng Jiaojiao’s face to pieces.

It was that face that had seduced An Jianjun.

“You… shameless! Are you showing off to me?”

Feng Jiaojiao was just about to explain when, suddenly, she heard a voice.

I really want to scratch her face to pieces. It’s that face that seduced Jianjun.

Feng Jiaojiao stared at Qin Siyu.

Qin Siyu’s lips had clearly only spoken the first sentence.

But the words that followed…

Could those be her thoughts?

This woman wanted to destroy her.

She wanted to ruin her.

But… how could Feng Jiaojiao hear them?

Could this be her cheat ability after transmigrating into the novel?

Was this Heaven’s gift to her—a way to change the fate of the supporting female character?

Her thoughts raced.

She couldn’t break Feng Jiaojiao’s original character.

So she immediately filled her eyes with tears and choked out,

“Siyu, you… you’ve ruined my life!”

Since Qin Siyu was so good at acting, Feng Jiaojiao might as well play along.

“I ruined your life?”

Qin Siyu stared at Feng Jiaojiao in disbelief.

It wasn’t as though she had forced Feng Jiaojiao into An Jianjun’s bed.

How could she possibly be blamed for this?

“If you hadn’t… Waaaah… If you hadn’t insisted on taking me to the An family, how could this have happened to me? It’s all your fault!”

Feng Jiaojiao cried even harder, large tears rolling down her cheeks.

According to her memories, the original Feng Jiaojiao was always like this—spoiled, willful, and prone to crying.

Apparently, she had quite a talent for acting.

“This… Could it have been Big Brother An…? No, that’s impossible. He…”

Qin Siyu couldn’t believe it.

Big Brother An was such an upright man. How could he possibly have forced her?

Besides, in what way was she inferior to Feng Jiaojiao?

Why couldn’t Big Brother An see her?

“After you left, I… I sat in the courtyard. Then I heard hoarse sounds coming from inside the house. I thought someone might have gotten hurt, so I went to check.”

“I never expected… he would drag me inside.”

“I… I was forced, Siyu. You have to believe me!”

Feng Jiaojiao grabbed Qin Siyu’s arm and shook it, looking as pitiful as a flower drenched in rain.

“You’re lying. He would never do something like that. You two have barely even met, and you’ve hardly spoken to each other.”

Qin Siyu refused to believe that An Jianjun was some kind of frivolous man.

Every time she saw him, he deliberately kept his distance, precisely because he was afraid of damaging a girl’s reputation.

And he behaved the same way toward other girls.

How could he possibly do something like this?

“He… he said someone had drugged him and he couldn’t control himself… so…”

Feng Jiaojiao’s large, round eyes filled with aggrieved tears as she looked at Qin Siyu.

Qin Siyu was already filled with regret.

Why?

If… if she hadn’t brought Feng Jiaojiao to the An family that day, would she have been the one who ended up with An Jianjun?

Feng Jiaojiao stared at Qin Siyu in disbelief.

Seriously? The female lead likes An Jianjun this much?

Looks like my life is going to be difficult from now on.

Thankfully, Heaven hasn’t completely abandoned me. It even gave me a cheat ability that lets me hear the female lead’s thoughts. At least I won’t be completely defenseless.

I just wonder whether I can hear everyone’s thoughts or only the female lead’s.

Still, I absolutely refuse to become a cannon-fodder supporting character.

Since I’m already here, my goal has to be surviving until a ripe old age.

“So… what are you planning to do?”

Qin Siyu cautiously asked Feng Jiaojiao.

She wanted to know what Feng Jiaojiao was thinking and whether she had any feelings for An Jianjun.

Feng Jiaojiao raised her head and looked at Qin Siyu.

“Waaah… An Jianjun said he wants to marry me. What do you think… what should I do?”

Then Feng Jiaojiao suddenly said angrily,

“Or… you can come with me to the police station right now. I want to report him for rape. I want to ruin his reputation and make sure he can’t remain a soldier! He’s the one who ruined my life. What am I supposed to do now?!”

Qin Siyu had originally wanted to persuade Feng Jiaojiao to pretend that nothing had happened.

But the moment she heard that Feng Jiaojiao wanted to destroy An Jianjun, she immediately stopped her.

“No!”

“Why not? Even you won’t help me?”

Feng Jiaojiao looked at Qin Siyu with hurt and confusion.

Idiot. How could I possibly let you destroy Jianjun? He’s such a good man. You’re not worthy of him at all!

But for now, I can only persuade Feng Jiaojiao to give up on reporting Jianjun.

As for what happened between the two of them, I believe that with Feng Jiaojiao’s troublesome personality, Jianjun won’t be able to put up with her for long.

“Jiaojiao, it’s not that I don’t want to help you. It’s just… in situations like this, women are usually the ones who suffer.”

“Besides, if you do this, wouldn’t everyone find out that the two of you were together? You’d also offend the An family and the brigade leader for no reason. Who would be willing to marry you after that?”

“And you want to leave this place, right? If you offend the brigade leader, he could hold back your documents and make it impossible for you to leave. You could be trapped here for the rest of your life. Your entire future would be ruined.”

If Feng Jiaojiao hadn’t been able to hear Qin Siyu’s true thoughts, she really might have believed that this woman was genuinely looking out for her as a good friend.

“What am I supposed to do, then?”

“I don’t want this… Waaaah!”

Feng Jiaojiao threw herself onto the kang and began sobbing.

“Jiaojiao, do you trust me?” Qin Siyu coaxed gently.
