Chen Feng caught sight of Senior Sister Meilin’s graceful figure, and his nose immediately started bleeding.
“Ah!”
Meilin quickly grabbed her clothes and rushed behind a nearby bush to get dressed.
Chen Feng hurriedly stopped his nosebleed and put on his own clothes.
A few moments later, Meilin emerged from behind the bush.
Her face was red with anger as she pointed her sword directly at Chen Feng.
Chen Feng became nervous.
“Senior Sister, I came here to wash myself.
I didn’t know you were bathing here,” Chen Feng explained hurriedly.
Meilin glared at him with cold eyes.
“I know you wouldn’t dare spy on your senior sister on purpose.
However, you have still seen my entire body.
This matter is not small.”
Chen Feng smiled awkwardly.
“Senior Sister, there are only two of us here.
No one will ever know what happened today.”
Meilin thought for a moment before lowering her sword.
“Fine.
But if you tell anyone what you saw today, I will personally kill you.”
Chen Feng immediately nodded.
“I understand, Senior Sister.”
Afterward, Chen Feng returned to his hut and changed into clean clothes.
Standing in the courtyard, he felt refreshed.
His spiritual energy flowed smoothly throughout his body without any obstruction.
He practiced the Void Steps for several hours but failed to make any significant progress.
At that moment, the communication jade at his waist lit up.
Master’s voice sounded from within.
“Come to the main hall immediately.”
Chen Feng quickly headed toward the main hall.
When he arrived, he saw Master Bai Ruyu sitting in the center seat.
Senior Sister Bai Jingyun sat on one side, while Senior Brother Han Li stood nearby.
Chen Feng respectfully bowed.
“Greetings, Master.
Greetings, Senior Sister Bai Jingyun.
Greetings, Senior Brother Han Li.”
Just then, Meilin entered from behind.
She greeted everyone before standing quietly beside the hall.
Chen Feng turned toward her.
“Greetings, Senior Sister Meilin.”
Meilin merely glanced at him coldly before nodding.
Chen Feng felt a chill run down his spine.
Master Bai Ruyu spoke.
“The sect has issued a mission for Chen Feng, Chen Ling, and Qin Su.”
“However, Chen Ling is currently in the middle of a breakthrough, and Qin Su has just begun cultivating.
Neither of them can participate.”
“Therefore, Meilin will accompany Chen Feng on this mission.”
Chen Feng’s heart nearly stopped.
“Master has no idea what happened earlier today.
If Senior Sister gets angry during the mission, I’ll be dead.”
He quickly stepped forward.
“Master, there is no need to trouble Senior Sister Meilin.
I can handle the mission alone.”
Master Bai Ruyu smiled.
“I know what you’re thinking, but the outside world is dangerous.
You were recently injured by a demonic cultivator.”
“My injuries have already healed, Master.”
Before Chen Feng could continue, Meilin suddenly spoke.
“Master, I am willing to accompany Junior Brother Chen Feng.”
Chen Feng stared at her in disbelief.
Master nodded with satisfaction.
“Very good.”
“It is settled.
Meilin and Chen Feng will depart today.”
Chen Feng could only sigh inwardly.
Master continued.
“The mission is an investigation of Blood Moon Valley.”
“The valley contains a rare herb known as Spirit Tempering Grass.
Your task is to collect it and investigate the recent disappearances reported in the area.”
“The mission is dangerous.
Blood Moon Valley is filled with both demonic beasts and spiritual beasts.”
“Demonic beasts feed on cultivators and absorb their blood and spiritual energy.
They thrive on the corrupted energy that fills the valley.”
“As for spiritual beasts, they consume spiritual herbs and treasures to cultivate.
Some possess intelligence equal to humans and can even take human form.”
“Do not underestimate either of them.”
Both disciples nodded.
“We understand, Master.”
After dismissing them, Chen Feng returned to prepare for the journey.
He took out the storage bag he had obtained from the demonic cultivator.
Since its owner was dead, it now belonged to him.
He packed several sets of clothes, healing herbs, fasting pills, and other necessities.
Before leaving, he visited Chen Ling and Qin Su.
After saying goodbye, he headed toward the main hall.
Meilin was already waiting outside.
Chen Feng approached respectfully.
“Greetings, Senior Sister.”
Meilin simply nodded.
Without another word, she summoned her flying sword.
The sword expanded to several meters in length.
Both disciples stepped onto it.
Whoosh!
The flying sword shot into the sky like a streak of light.
Their destination—
Blood Moon Valley.
