Chen Feng and Senior Sister Meilin flew across the mountain ranges on a flying sword.
The sword was narrow, and Chen Feng stood right behind Meilin.
Looking down at the endless cliffs and deep valleys below, his face gradually turned pale.
“Senior Sister Meilin, how much longer will it take to reach the Blood Moon Valley?” Chen Feng asked nervously.
“It will take about six hours,” Meilin replied calmly.
Chen Feng swallowed and glanced downward again.
“Senior Sister Meilin, can you fly a little lower and slower?”
Meilin raised an eyebrow.
“Why?”
Chen Feng hesitated for nearly a minute before speaking.
“Because…
I’m afraid of heights, and this sword is quite narrow.”
A sarcastic smile appeared on Meilin’s face.
“Oh?
A cultivator who is afraid of heights?”
Before Chen Feng could reply, she suddenly increased the speed of the flying sword.
Whoosh!
The wind roared past them.
“Aaaah!”
Chen Feng instantly lost his composure.
Terrified that he would fall, he wrapped both arms around Meilin’s waist with all his strength.
Meilin’s eyes widened in shock.
“What are you doing?!”
Startled by the sudden embrace her heart beat was beating very fast, she lost control of the flying sword.
The sword wobbled violently before plunging toward the ground.
Boom!
Fortunately, both of them were cultivators.
They quickly protected themselves with spiritual energy and landed without suffering any injuries.
After getting up, Meilin forcefully removed Chen Feng’s arms from around her waist and glared at him with angry eyes.
Chen Feng looked back innocently.
“Senior Sister Meilin, don’t look at me like that.
I told you I was afraid of heights and asked you to slow down, but you sped up instead.”
Meilin wanted to argue, but no words came out.
Her cheeks turned slightly red as she looked away.
Without saying anything further, she picked up the flying sword from the ground.
“Fine,” she said coldly.
“This time I’ll be more careful.
You don’t need to worry.”
She then narrowed her eyes at him.
“And don’t try to grab me again.”
Chen Feng nodded repeatedly.
“I won’t.”
A few moments later, they stood on the flying sword once more and continued their journey toward the Blood Moon Valley.
After six long hours of travel, they finally arrived at their destination.
In front of them stood the entrance to the Blood Moon Valley.
The valley was surrounded by dark crimson mountains that resembled dried blood under the setting sun.
A cold wind blew from within, carrying a chilling aura that made one’s skin crawl.
The entire place radiated danger.
Even Chen Feng could feel the thick killing intent lingering in the air.
Meilin landed her sword and stepped onto the ground.
“Flying inside the Blood Moon Valley is extremely dangerous,” she explained.
“The spiritual fluctuations from a flying sword can easily attract powerful spirit beasts.”
Chen Feng nodded.
“We’ll enter the valley and first find a safe place to stay for the night,” Meilin continued.
“Tomorrow morning, we’ll begin searching for the Spirit Tempering Grass.”
“Understood, Senior Sister.”
“This is Blood Moon Valley,” Meilin said.
“Stay alert.
The corrupted energy here can affect the minds of weak cultivators.”
Chen Feng nodded and followed closely behind her.
The two carefully moved deeper into the valley.
The deeper they went, the darker their surroundings became.
Ancient trees towered above them, blocking most of the sunlight.
Strange cries occasionally echoed through the forest, making the atmosphere even more unsettling.
After walking for nearly an hour, both of them suddenly stopped.
Not far ahead, they noticed torn sect robes scattered across the ground.
There are torn robes of many sects.
Several trees had been split apart as if a fierce battle had taken place there.
Deep claw marks covered the earth, and dried blood stained the rocks nearby.
Chen Feng frowned.
“It looks like a battle happened here recently.”
Meilin crouched down and examined one of the torn robes.
Her expression immediately became serious.
“These robes belong to disciples from the Azure Cloud Sect.”
Chen Feng’s eyes narrowed.
“Do you think they were attacked by spirit beasts?”
Meilin looked at the massive claw marks and shook her head.
“Perhaps.
But something feels strange.”
A cold breeze suddenly passed through the forest.
At that moment, both of them sensed a faint killing intent watching them from the darkness.
The two exchanged glances and immediately became alert.
Something was hiding nearby.
And it was watching them.
