“Claudia, now that even you’re leaving, what am I to do from now on?” Wyatt’s mother wept bitterly, unable to contain her grief.

“Mom, I won’t go far, you can find me anytime.”

The household registration and passport were all with Wyatt Perry; she couldn’t leave even if she wanted to!Full novel: Reborn of the Billionaire’s Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Claudia Ross stood up and hugged Wyatt’s mother, wanting to cry out loud herself.

Wyatt’s mother cursed angrily, “That wretched woman Katie Poole, she’s deliberately trying to drive a wedge between me and Wyatt.

I scold her a few times, and she attempts suicide.

Now Wyatt hates me to death.

Why doesn’t she just die and be done with it, it would be cleaner.

Because of that wretched woman, Wyatt doesn’t even want his own mother anymore.

Claudia, what was the point of raising a son?

I struggled all alone to raise him, I suffered so much to get him to where he is today…”

So Katie Poole had attempted suicide!

In Claudia’s mind appeared the ridiculous scene of Katie Poole threatening to kill herself.

Katie was such a good actress, and Wyatt was completely taken in by her act.

“Was she seriously hurt?”

An actor’s injuries are surely not serious, yet it was pitiful how she’d gotten a bag of blood drawn for nothing.

The injury to her own body was probably much worse than Katie’s.

“Who knows?

She was making a fuss about dying or living, but it seemed quite convincing!” Wyatt’s mother looked at Claudia’s pale face and said sympathetically, “You shouldn’t have donated blood for her.

It would have been better if she’d died from losing too much blood.

Look at yourself; you’re nearly drained.”

Claudia touched her ice-cold face and gave a wry smile.

She hadn’t wanted to donate blood, but would Wyatt have let her off if she hadn’t?

If Katie Poole had really died from too much blood loss, she probably would have been dragged by Wyatt to join her in death.

Such was the brutal reality.

Claudia spent a long time calming Wyatt’s mother until her rage slowly subsided, then Claudia saw her off in her car.

After sending Wyatt’s mother off, Claudia felt incredibly drained, her legs as heavy as if they were filled with lead.

She walked slowly toward the parking lot, when suddenly everything went black, and she fainted.

Not knowing how long she was unconscious, Claudia opened her eyes to see a stranger’s handsome face smiling at her.

“You’re awake.” Without waiting for Claudia to ask, the man explained, “You fainted by the roadside.

The doctor checked you and you’re not in any danger, so I took the liberty of bringing you home.

Don’t be afraid, I’m not a bad person!”

Claudia thought sadly, if she truly had encountered a bad person and disappeared from this world, who would genuinely care about her?

While Claudia was lost in thought, the stranger handed her a steaming bowl of red date and peanut soup, “Are you hungry?

Drink it while it’s hot!”

The scent of red dates entered her nostrils and indeed, she felt famished.

She took the bowl and drank up, tilting it skyward.

The man told Claudia she had been asleep for fourteen hours.

No wonder she was so hungry.

The man chuckled and said, “When you’re pregnant, you need to eat more to get enough nutrients.

Anemia can affect the baby’s growth and development.

You can’t faint from anemia again.”

“What did you say?” Claudia’s eyes widened in shock.

“Pregnant?

Me?”

“Yes, you’re pregnant.” The man laughed.

“You didn’t know you were pregnant; you’re really careless.

Congratulations, you’re going to be a mom.

But forgive my boldness in asking – are you of age?”

“I’m of age…”

“Oh, that’s good then.” The man continued, “Quickly tell your boyfriend the good news, and get him to marry you and take good care of you.”

Boyfriend was such a foreign word.

In her twenty-two years, she’d never had a boyfriend, only a husband who was soon to become history.

A divorce should break cleanly; Wyatt Perry would never allow her to have the child.
