Their little group practically roared with laughter, pointing and mocking at the girl while taking pictures of her pathetic state with their phones.
That poor girl was …
Eliana or me now.
The footage was shaky, but I could still see Audrey’s face clearly.
She and her group dragged Eliana by the hair into the girls’ bathroom, locked the door, used a scissors to cut up her uniform and then shoved Eliana’s head into the toilet holding it down while the others laughed and clapped.
The poor Eliana struggled, kicking and gasping when they finally let her up for air, only to be shoved back down again.
Dirty water dripped from her hair and face as Audrey pulled the camera even closer to show Eliana’s face up close.
Eliana sobbed so hard her whole body shook, and the girls around her laughed even harder as she cried.
When the video ended, I stared at the blank screen in silence.
My blood boiled and my teeth chattered so loudly it could be heard.
I wanted to kill Audrey.
I wanted her to go to hell and be tortured by the devil himself.
Before the devil could get to her, a darker part of me wanted to do it myself.
“Where did you get these videos?” I asked Damien.
Damien pulled his phone away, and for a moment his face hardened, as if he were swallowing the same anger I felt.
“I…I had people dig them up for me,” he said softly.
“They’re professionals,” he added when I stared.
“People who know how to search old archives, school records, private uploads, all the stuff regular users can’t find.
They went deep into her past and pulled anything that showed the real her.”
Hiring people like that must’ve cost a fortune, but for someone like Damien, it probably wasn’t a problem.
“I want to kill her,” I blurted before he could finish.
My eyes locked on his with a fierce look, so he’d know I wasn’t playing.
“Audrey.
I want her to feel every bit of the pain she put me through.”
After seeing the rotten things she had to go through, the things her family did, her father, her half mother, her sister, I felt nothing but uncontrollable anger on her behalf.
“Then let me help you.” Damien had no intention of calming me.
Instead, he poured gasoline on my burning rage.
“I’ve asked some people to upload those videos into their contents.
They’ll probably start appearing in an hour or two.
Do you want to give her a small chance to redeem herself or let her fall completely?”
“Let her fall,” I said coldly.
“Don’t give that bitch any way out and don’t let her get one bit of sympathy from anyone.”
Steal her father my ass.
Eliana’s childhood was kind of cruel and complicated.
Her mother, Olivia was a doctor that was doing pretty okay, at least until she stumbled upon Arthur Whitmore, after he was rushed into the hospital she was working at.
Olivia just so happened to be the doctor assigned to take care of Arthur and coincidentally ended up falling deeply in love with him.
And since Arthur also found Olivia attractive, and her occupation as a doctor was a plus, they both quickly got into a relationship.
Their relationship lasted about two years before Olivia suddenly found herself pregnant.
When she told Arthur, he immediately ordered her to have an abortion and even handed her money to make it happen.
But Olivia secretly chose to keep the baby.
It might sound sweet, right?
A mother trying to protect the child in her womb even though the father rejected it.
The reason Olivia refused to abort the baby wasn’t because she loved it.
In truth, she felt no affection for the child at all, it wasn’t like she’d ever even met the child after all.
The reason Olivia kept the child was because she sincerely believed that if she gave birth to the child and it was boy, Arthur would have no choice but to take her back in, after all he needed a heir.
Unfortunately Olivia gave birth to a girl, Eliana, but she contacted Arthur about it all the same, it was at this point that Olivia finally found out that Arthur was married and his wife also gave birth to a girl child not to long ago.
Olivia fell into serious depression, and even ended up getting sacked from her job.
She even started taking out her misery on Eliana.
She beat her, starved her, and left her small body bruised and malnourished.
When Eliana was three, Olivia died of a severe illness, and that was when Arthur suddenly returned to claim his daughter.
For a brief moment, Eliana thought her father might love her in a way her mother never had.
But she was wrong again.
Arthur hadn’t come out of love.
He only took Helcia in because he needed her as a prop for his fundraising event.
Standing in front of cameras and flashing lights, he admitted to cheating on his wife, but twisted the truth.
He claimed it wasn’t his fault, that a despicable doctor had drugged him and decided to trap him with a child on purpose.
Even so, with a solemn look for the crowd, he declared that he would “take full responsibility” and accept Eliana as one of his precious daughters.
Eliana was treated as nothing more than a tool by her parents, people who didn’t even bother to pretend they loved her.
When you really think about it, Olivia was really pitiful, falling for a married man who lied about being single only to get pregnant, give birth and die out of depression.
“If that’s what you want.” Damien looked at me with something deeper than anger toward the Whitmore family.
There was slight pity too, a kind of sorrow for everything I—although it was Eliana, not me—had been forced to endure.
