Dr. Diagnosis’s words about having his own personal council remained in Liam’s mind even after the conversation in the chatroom had continued. The more he thought about it, the more obvious the idea seemed. He had countless races scattered across his planet, each developing in completely different ways, yet he still relied heavily on observation and the occasional direct intervention whenever something caught his attention.
He slowly rubbed his chin. "Why didn’t I think of that?"
A council would allow him to gather the most significant deceased individuals from his world into one location, where he could directly communicate with them and hear their thoughts. Instead of constantly watching countless settlements through spectator mode, he could simply summon representatives and allow them to report everything themselves.
The idea seemed almost embarrassingly simple. Liam immediately opened the System.
"System, how do I use Consciousness Space?"
[To access Consciousness Space, you must first enter it.]
[The transition will be similar to shifting from an ordinary point of view into Intangible Spectation.]
Liam nodded. "Alright, let’s see what this thing can do."
He activated Consciousness Space.
The instant the ability responded, Liam felt something completely different from anything he had experienced before. It wasn’t pain, dizziness, or even the sensation of movement. Instead, it felt as though his consciousness itself had become weightless.
His awareness began stretching.
It expanded farther and farther, as though some invisible force had taken hold of his mind and pulled it beyond the boundaries of his physical existence. The world around him gradually lost its meaning. Sound disappeared first, followed by his surroundings, until even his sense of distance seemed to become meaningless.
Then everything stopped. Liam opened his eyes.
He was standing somewhere completely unfamiliar.
He then slowly turned around.
There was nothing. Not even a ground that he could recognize as being made from any ordinary material.
Everything around him was white.
The emptiness stretched in every direction as far as his eyes could see, creating the strange sensation that he had somehow been placed inside an endless white room with no walls and no ceiling.
Liam looked down at himself.
His body was still there.
"Huh..."
He turned around again, becoming increasingly confused by the complete lack of scenery.
"System, I can’t see anything aside from my body and these white surroundings. What happened? Did something go wrong?"
[Incorrect.]
[Consciousness Space currently contains nothing.]
[It is merely an empty void.]
[There are no system malfunctions.]
Liam stared into the blank distance.
"So this place is literally empty?"
[Correct.]
"Then how am I supposed to add something?"
The response came almost immediately.
[Visualize it.]
[Anything successfully visualized within Consciousness Space will manifest within it.]
Liam blinked. "Visualize it?"
[Correct.]
He looked at his hands again.
"So whatever I imagine can appear here?"
[Within the limitations of Consciousness Space, yes.]
Liam went silent, then a strange realization slowly settled within him.
"Wait." He looked around once more.
"Am I omnipotent here?"
[Correct.]
Liam’s eyes widened.
"Seriously?"
The System gave no further explanation, but Liam didn’t need one.
He had always possessed enormous power within his world, yet even then, there were limitations. His abilities were tied to System functions, Evolution Points, Skill Points, environmental restrictions, and countless other factors.
This place was different.
Here, his imagination itself could become reality.
Liam raised his hand. "Lemme start with something simple."
He thought about an apple. Not merely the concept of an apple, but the exact shape, color, texture, stem, and smooth surface.
A few seconds passed. Then something appeared directly in front of him.
A bright red apple floated in the empty white space.
Liam’s eyes widened. "Woah..."
He reached out and grabbed it. The fruit felt completely real beneath his fingers.
He rotated it slowly, examining the tiny details along the surface before bringing it closer to his face.
"It actually worked." He took a bite. The crisp sound echoed strangely through the empty space.
Liam chewed for a moment before smiling. "It even tastes real."
He finished the apple while continuing to stare at the endless void around him.
Then another realization struck him.
"If I’m going to create a council here, I can’t just leave everyone standing around in an empty white void."
He imagined dozens of important individuals sitting together.
That image quickly developed into something larger. "I need a proper place."
Liam closed his eyes.
He began thinking about architecture.
There were countless architectural styles he had encountered throughout his existence, but Gothic architecture had always fascinated him. He liked the towering structures, intricate details, enormous halls, dramatic bell towers, and the feeling that the buildings themselves carried a sense of history.
"I’ve always been fond of Gothic architecture."
He began visualizing. At first, nothing happened.
Then a faint outline appeared in the distance.
The white void started bending around it.
A foundation emerged first, spreading across the empty expanse.
Stone began forming piece by piece. Walls rose from the ground. Massive pillars took shape.
Tall windows appeared along the structure, each one containing intricate designs that Liam had carefully imagined. The building continued growing until enormous towers rose above the landscape.
At the highest point, Liam imagined a tremendous bell tower.
The tower extended toward the sky, its dark structure contrasting beautifully against the bright surroundings. A massive bell rested inside it, large enough that its sound would probably echo across the entire Consciousness Space.
But Liam wasn’t finished.
He wanted the structure to be more than a simple meeting hall.
He envisioned an enormous courtyard surrounding the main building.
The empty ground expanded outward, becoming wider and wider until it covered an area larger than a football field.
Trees began appearing along the edges.
Stone walkways stretched toward different entrances.
Then Liam began adding the interior.
Large corridors appeared. Spacious chambers formed behind the walls. Meeting rooms, storage areas, libraries, observation chambers, and countless other rooms developed throughout the enormous structure.
It almost looked like a commercial building from another world, except every detail carried the elegance of a grand Gothic castle.
Finally, Liam imagined the center of the entire structure.
A gigantic circular room formed around a massive round table.
He wanted exactly twenty-four seats.
Each seat appeared around the table with perfect spacing between them. The table itself looked enormous, large enough for every representative to sit comfortably while still having enough room for documents, food, or whatever else might be necessary during future meetings.
Liam added intricate jewelry-like decorations around the edges.
Small gemstones were embedded into the table. Metallic patterns covered the surface. The chairs were decorated with similar designs, giving the entire chamber the appearance of something built for kings.
He stepped back and examined his creation inside his imagination.
"Not bad."
Then he considered the scenery. The building itself was impressive, but he didn’t want everyone to feel like they were trapped inside a giant stone structure.
So he imagined a peaceful landscape surrounding the entire area.
He even created several small lakes and waterfalls that flowed through the landscape, their waters sparkling beneath the sunlight.
Liam slowly opened his eyes. "Alright."
He looked at the empty white void. "Let’s make it real."
The moment he finished speaking, the entire Consciousness Space began to tremble.
The white surroundings twitched violently. The space began behaving almost like a broken mirror. Cracks of distortion appeared throughout the white emptiness, spreading outward in every direction.
Then the fragments began moving. Pieces of the void stretched away from one another before snapping back together, like countless shards of glass being forced into their original positions.
The empty white surface began changing colors. Everything flickered so quickly that Liam could barely follow what was happening.
The ground appeared beneath his feet.
Stone spread across the landscape. Grass grew rapidly across the newly formed earth.
Trees erupted from the ground in seconds, their branches extending toward the sky as leaves unfolded one after another.
The mountains emerged in the distance.
Water began flowing through newly created rivers.
The sky itself transformed from pure white into a breathtaking blue.
Clouds appeared overhead.
The enormous Gothic building rose from the ground with astonishing speed, its towers extending higher and higher until the final structure stood proudly above the landscape.
The massive bell tower was the last part to finish. Its bell settled into place with a deep metallic rumble.
Then a tremendous gust of wind struck him.
He opened his eyes, and the endless white void was gone. In its place stood a breathtaking world.
The massive Gothic building dominated the landscape, its towering architecture illuminated by the warm sunlight pouring through the clouds. The enormous courtyard stretched before him, surrounded by gardens, trees, rivers, and distant mountains.
"What a beautiful, calming place..."
Liam stood silently for a moment, enjoying the scenery he had created.
Then he looked toward the enormous building.
His smile grew wider. "Now all I need are twenty-four people worthy of sitting around that table."
