Looking at herself in the mirror, Wen Li suddenly felt like crying.
All those points weren’t spent in vain!
Although she couldn’t be called a beauty now, she at least looked human compared to before!
Having lost another twenty pounds, Wen Li’s whole body had shrunk. Her large eyes, previously squeezed into the size of mung beans by excess fat, had finally revealed their true form.
The pimples and acne on her cheeks had also disappeared. While her skin was still sallow, it looked much cleaner and fresher, no longer an eyesore.
What bothered Wen Li the most, her teeth, had also changed. When she smiled, she had eight perfectly aligned, bright white teeth.
“It’s really… not easy,” Wen Li sighed, putting down the mirror and walking to the door to wash up.
The sky had just begun to brighten outside. Wen Li had woken up very early; the biological clock of this body was like that.
Zhu Yan and Xin Yuan next door were not yet awake.
After washing up, Wen Li walked towards the kitchen.
It was time to prepare breakfast.
Wen Li entered the small kitchen and took out the wild chicken and potatoes from yesterday to wash them.
These were the ingredients. For breakfast, she planned to make a chicken and potato stew with noodles.
Yesterday, Wen Li had spent one point to exchange for a beginner’s ingredient gift package.
Wen Li had opened some seasonings, rice, and noodles.
The noodles were dried noodles, a whole box of them.
The system’s new user benefits were indeed quite generous.
For Wen Li, a box of dried noodles would last a long time.
But with Zhu Yan and Xin Yuan, it might not be enough, as both of them had large appetites.
Would they eat two or three bags at a meal?
Wen Li wasn’t sure.
She washed the ingredients clean, then moved them to the small kitchen and began to cook.
There was a stone stove in the small kitchen. The original owner only ate cooked food, so Zhu Yan had specially built it here to facilitate the preparation of cooked meals, which was convenient for Wen Li.
Wen Li first put in the chicken to make chicken soup, and after a while, added the diced potatoes.
The aroma wafted out of the small kitchen, with a few wisps drifting into Zhu Yan’s cave.
Xin Yuan, sensitive to the smell of food, instantly woke up and sniffed the air deeply.
“…What’s that smell?” Zhu Yan mumbled, half-asleep.
Meanwhile, Xin Yuan had already gotten up and walked towards the cave entrance.
It was already bright daylight, and the sun shone warmly on the ground.
Xin Yuan rubbed his eyes and looked towards the source of the aroma. Wen Li happened to be coming out with the cooked chicken soup and noodles.
“You’re awake. Breakfast is ready,” Wen Li said as she placed the pot on the stone table.
Then, she looked in Xin Yuan’s direction.
Xin Yuan had just woken up, his slightly curly brown hair looked a bit messy, making him inexplicably cute.
He looked at Wen Li’s direction with a hint of confusion, his eyes half-closed.
“What did you cook?” Xin Yuan asked.
“Potato and chicken stew, and noodles,” Wen Li said as she sat down on the stone stool. “Is Zhu Yan still asleep?”
Xin Yuan shook his head. “Brother Zhu Yan is still sleeping.”
After saying that, he walked towards the well, drew a bucket of water, and quickly washed up.
After washing up, Xin Yuan finally became fully awake.
He walked towards Wen Li, his gaze falling on her back. A hint of surprise flashed in his amber eyes.
Was it his illusion? Wen Li seemed to have lost more weight?
Xin Yuan tried to recall what Wen Li looked like yesterday, but found he couldn’t remember at all.
At this moment, Zhu Yan also walked out of the cave.
He yawned and scratched his short red hair.
“What’s that smell, so fragrant…”
As soon as he finished speaking, he met Wen Li’s gaze.
Zhu Yan closed his mouth, looked at Xin Yuan, who had just finished washing up nearby, and then at Wen Li, who was sitting obediently at the stone table.
Wen Li smiled at him. “We can eat breakfast now.”
After straightening her teeth, Wen Li felt much more confident. She didn’t deliberately purse her lips but revealed her eight shiny teeth.
“Oh,” Zhu Yan shifted his gaze uncomfortably and walked towards the well.
Strange, that ugly monster looks much more pleasing to the eye today… Zhu Yan wondered to himself.
With the system’s built-in buff, others would only notice that Wen Li had changed but wouldn’t dwell on it.
Zhu Yan and Xin Yuan finished washing up and sat down at the stone table.
Wen Li opened the lid, and the aroma from the pot filled the air.
The fragrant smell early in the morning invigorated both of them.
“I stewed yesterday’s potatoes and wild chicken together, and also cooked noodles. Try it,” Wen Li said.
Then, she opened the wooden basin filled with noodles.
Wen Li couldn’t quite gauge their exact appetites yet, so she only cooked one packet of dried noodles.
A whole packet of dried noodles yielded a considerable portion, and Wen Li even felt it was too much.
However, she thought the two of them should be able to finish it.
“What is this?” Xin Yuan asked in surprise.
He had never seen noodles before; such a processed product was too advanced for them.
“Food, it’ll fill you up,” Wen Li said concisely.
Zhu Yan, however, was quite cautious. “Where did you get these?”
Wen Li fobbed him off, “I found them in the cave. My mother left them for me.”
After bringing up her deceased mother, neither of them asked further questions.
Xin Yuan’s attention was focused on the noodles. “How do you eat this?”
Wen Li first scooped out a portion of noodles, poured soup over them, and then added potatoes and chicken. A simple bowl of potato and chicken noodle soup was ready.
She didn’t keep this bowl of noodles for herself but pushed it towards Xin Yuan.
“Try it.”
Xin Yuan looked slightly surprised but didn’t refuse. “Thank you.”
Zhu Yan watched this scene with a cold smile in his heart, then looked away.
Wen Li continued to serve noodles and pushed a bowl towards Zhu Yan. “This is yours.”
Zhu Yan hadn’t expected Wen Li to serve him noodles as well. He visibly froze for a moment.
The surprise in his eyes hadn’t had time to be concealed.
“Thank you,” he replied dryly.
Wen Li smiled at him.
Zhu Yan uncomfortably averted her gaze.
Then, Wen Li continued to serve noodles for herself.
She served herself a small portion because her appetite was naturally smaller.
The three ate breakfast in silence. Zhu Yan, who had been eating with his head down, suddenly looked up and glanced in a certain direction.
Wen Li noticed his movement and looked over as well.
“What’s wrong?” she asked curiously.
Zhu Yan wrinkled his nose slightly and said, “Yan Ci is here.”
Yan Ci.
Wen Li almost forgot she had another beast husband.
Speaking of which, Bai Yan Ci was the one among all her beast husbands who hated her the most.
Wen Li felt a little uneasy, repeatedly looking back, but still couldn’t see Bai Yan Ci’s figure.
“There’s no one…” she muttered.
Zhu Yan said, “He’s nearby. I can smell him.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Bai Yan Ci appeared within Wen Li’s line of sight.
Bai Yan Ci, in the distance, was bathed in sunlight, exuding an ethereal aura. He had long, ink-black hair tied back with a ribbon.
His skin was pale, much whiter than Wen Li’s, a female. His features were delicate and striking, with upturned eyes that added a touch of allure.
Wen Li hadn’t looked closely before, but now she realized that this Bai Yan Ci was truly beautiful, even though he had no expression on his face at the moment.
Bai Yan Ci was completely different from Zhu Yan and Xin Yuan.
Zhu Yan was a tough guy, Xin Yuan was a beautiful boy, and Bai Yan Ci was a beautiful, super great beauty.
Wen Li stared openly. Bai Yan Ci also noticed her gaze and looked back from afar.
His light green pupils were as beautiful as gems in the sunlight.
Having not seen her for two days, Bai Yan Ci didn’t recognize Wen Li upon seeing her again.
Wen Li’s transformation was too drastic. Bai Yan Ci only vaguely felt that the female not far away looked somewhat familiar.
However, he wasn’t so slow-witted and soon realized that the female before him was indeed Wen Li.
“Yan Ci,” Zhu Yan greeted him proactively.
Bai Yan Ci nodded at him, then turned and left.
Without a hint of hesitation.
Wen Li saw it. When Bai Yan Ci looked at her, the disgust in his eyes was almost overflowing.
Just how much did this Bai Yan Ci hate her?
