He wanted to know the location of his last home for two reasons.
First is simple, he wanted to check on his last family.
He doesn’t have much hope of finding them because it has been seven years.
They could’ve moved away by now.
Or changed houses.
There is a low chance of him encountering them.
He also doesn’t really truly want to meet them.
Maybe one look would be enough to calm his damaged heart.
If he knows that they’re doing okay then he won’t feel so guilty anymore.
Second thing that he wants is to check on two places.
First is the place where the foundation for little girls and second is Mr.
Michel’s resident.
He only going to check because so much time has passed.
There is no chance that the foundation still exists and there is a low chance for Mr.
Michel to be still in that house.
Either the resident is not rented by someone else or who knows what else could be happening.
Country of the Poor is ever changing.
One place looks entirely different from the past.
Perhaps, it is because the government is trying to make this country work somehow.
Or it is a political thing.
Whatever the case, he just hopes that he won’t encounter Mel or the suspected Madam Tallia who might be the one who killed him in past life through some mysticism.
‘It is impossible for them to recognize me though.
I look entirely different from my past self.
I might just be scaring myself.’ He lampoons inwardly to calm his nerves.
He won’t be going to Daz side any time soon.
He lacks enough money to get a ride there.
He has no interest in going there on foot.
As they’re going back, they don’t buy anything anymore and only look around the places.
Mar doesn’t have any money left, Kek seems to be satisfied with his previous purchase and Joy just doesn’t want to waste his money anymore.
So, they just move while looking through things while unable to get any.
The shops have become even crowed and it seem like the bazaar has just started.
More bets are happening all over the place.
There are even more drunks fighting with each other and a lot more shops that just opened.
This makes Joy think of something.
‘Who does manage this place?
There is no way that such an event can happen without some sort of order or agreement between the people.
People form the underworld?
Or maybe just random illegal dealers came towards to make this happen.
Honestly, how is this possible?
Is government that unaware of what exactly is happening in this country?’ He criticizes the government in disbelief at their incompetence.
Soon, they are at the dog betting tent.
In no time, they also find Ziggy and Poen.
However, Poen doesn’t look good.
Everyone makes a guess that they lost all the money.
And to confirm that Poen speaks.
“We were winning at first but then they brought a big dog out. We thought that it could dominate the round so we put everything on it. But that big just ran away the moment the match started and then… and then all the money disappeared that we all made. I did everything that my big brother told me I don’t know why did this happen.”
Only thing that came in everyone’s mind, ‘Stop listen to your big brother.
He is clearly a bad influence on you.’ However, none of them speak that out loud.
Without anything to do, Ziggy just started strolling around the various shops in search of anything.
However, without money he can’t really do anything here. This story is hosted at g.com.
So, soon he will just get bored and will return.
That is what everyone wants too.
Mar has been staying behind Kek and joy.
He doesn’t want to get Ziggy’s attention.
Even though he looks calm from the outside.
He is actually really angry about losing the bets.
So, if Mar were to come out in front of it.
Then he would insult him for buying a girly looking bag for sure.
Joy only hopes that all of this is over soon so he can return.
He is tired and it is probably passed midnight now.
It is getting too late.
He has to wake up early tomorrow and do work.
He sighs inwardly and looks around him again.
Suddenly, he finds a person who is suspiciously looking at them.
This alarms him a little but then he calms himself.
It isn’t too odd for people to look at children going through a place like this.
People either be looking out of concern or are just annoyed to find children even here.
However, this man was also here before.
He was betting on people using psychedelics but also looking at them from time to time.
At first, Joy didn’t think too much of it.
But now he is starting to suspect that he is being observing them.
Or even following them.
‘How long has he been watching us?
What they want form children?
Are they kidnappers?
However, I shouldn’t worry too much.
They won’t just pick up children in front of everyone’s eyes, right?’
He tires to reassure himself but instead he just makes him worry even more.
What can an alone child can do?
However, then he remembers that he isn’t alone right now.
So, he tugs on Kek and Mar’s clothes to get their attention.
Then without it suspicious, he speaks casually.
“I think we are being watched. Look at the right side but don’t make it obvious.”
Mar instantly is too terrified to look, so, Kek is the one who look from his peripheral vision.
He finds a man who seems to be looking around the shops.
But at times observing where they’re going and moving behind them at a distance of just 15 or 20 meters.
Kek nods casually.
Letting Joy know that he sees him.
However, he also seems puzzled at what is happening.
He doesn’t act racially.
It is important to tell Poen and Ziggy.
But Ziggy is unpredictable.
He isn’t sure what will he do if he found out someone is following them.
He can just imagine him going straight for a fight and dragging them into it too.
Joy has the same thought as him.
That is why he told Mar and Kek first who are more rational of the group. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
If Poen were to know they would straight up tell Ziggy without any hesitation.
Kek speaks while pretending to be casual.
“What do we do?”
Mar seems to shrink down and grow quieter.
That basically means he has no idea.
Joy is the one who think carefully about what to do.
‘It would be suspicious if we suddenly quicken our pace.
We have no idea how many people are with that man.
Also, we can’t really ask for help around here as I don’t think anyone cares.
Not to mention, Poen’s brother would just make things difficult.
It is better to just wait and see what will happen.
We can’t be rash.’
So, all three pretends that they didn’t see the individual following them.
But they’re just cautious and observant to anything that is happening.
Time passes and nothing usual happens.
Even the man who was tailing them is gone.
However, they’re just cautious enough to not let their guard down.
Especially Joy, it is hard to see it on his face but he has been very stressed during this whole time.
He even kept a close eye on Mar, Kek, Poen and Ziggy.
Making sure that nobody was doing anything suspicious to get other’s attention.
Ziggy, being the way he is, kept on stopping to look at things that are far past his budget.
Sometimes, he even argued with people for no particular reason.
However, it didn’t lead to anything great.
So, he took a sigh of relief.
In no time, they’re out of the illegal Bazaar.
The place is silent again and there are no more people who are drunk or fighting with each other or being perverted.
Just simple silent night that is normal to everyone here.
Ziggy yawns almost fall to the ground.
But before he can, Poen catches him and puts him on his shoulders.
He looks very uncomfortable while trying keep him on his shoulders.
However, he manages to keep him up with all his strength.
Then he speaks.
“You guys go back. I’ll go home with big brother. He won’t be able to walk normally anymore and last time I found him sleeping in the streets. He got a very high fever after that. So, I don’t want that happen again. Sorry but you guys have to go by yourself. See you tomorrow.”
Poen waves his left hand and leaves.
Everyone else sighs like a big boulder have just been lifted form their shoulders.
Ziggy was very troublesome to deal with.
His drunken self was even worse.
But now, he has finally left so they can rest assured.
Kek speaks.
“Let’s get back as soon as possible. I didn’t see anyone following us outside but we should still leave now.”
Joy has no objection to that.
He also wants to return back to his hut as soon as possible.
Not only because he is cautious of the kidnapper but also because he is too much tired and wants to rest.
However, as they’re about to move.
Joy sees a man approaching them from the darkness.
Joy was sure he wasn’t there a minute ago.
But now suddenly, somebody is there walking towards.
Joy is the first one to notice and he tenses up.
Thinking of anything that could help him get away from that man.
