On Thursday afternoon Goddess temple.
Joy and friends were doing his job while chitchatting.
After the illegal bazaar all of them has started being even more amiable towards him.
Mar is usual with him chatting about various things.
He has also come to realize due to these interacts that he is very soft spoken and a little bit literate too.
This makes him think that he has gotten some tutoring.
Or maybe his parents have him a little bit Coosma and how to count.
His soft nature does make it fun to tease him.
However, Joy doesn’t do it too often has he isn’t very fond of it too much.
But it would be lying if he didn’t say that his embarrassed face isn’t quite amusing.
Kek now has been very helpful in many tasks.
He helps him do particular jobs that he used to leave it up to Joy.
These interacts with his guy has also helped him found out what he had bought from the illegal bazaar.
It is just some sleeping drugs.
According to him, his father is an insomnia after an incident during work where his coworker passed away.
After that, it became difficult for him to sleep at night cause of the reoccurring dream of his coworker’s death.
This sleeping drug will help him get some rest.
However, Joy did suggest that he should tell Priest about this predicament.
He has come to realize that dream is also a domain.
Or maybe a branch of some domain.
So, as he suspects that the priest knows about the magical world.
He surely will send someone to help Kek’s father.
Now Poen interactions with Joy.
Nothing drastic has happened between the two.
Perhaps, because he didn’t suffer through same trauma of being chased by a kidnapper like how Mar, Keka and Joy did.
But he has started teasing Joy too.
Of course, he isn’t that easy to tease because he is aware of his methods and tricks.
So, in simple terms Joy has also become Poen’s pranks and he gets to listen to his bragging too.
These interactions did help Joy understand that people really talk a lot and like to gossip about anything.
If you have your sources then they can tell you about various things without much effort.
This is an important thing to keep in mind.
Having acquaintances is fine but keeping an amiable relationship with them is even better.
Gathering information becomes easier when you are not the only one.
Joy nods to himself as if he has understood more about the world.
Soon, it is time for lunch but before that.
All of them are called to meet at the entrance of the temple.
Someone is there to meet them.
Kek is the first one to speak to the group when they get called.
“Maybe it is related illegal bazaar. Do you thing we will be at trouble?”
Poen replies.
“No way. We did nothing that would account for a punishment.”
Kek says.
“I didn’t say that we will be punished.”
Poen then argued back with.
“You were implying it. Also, if it was related to illegal bazaar then they would call for my big brother instead.”
So, why are you so obsessed with him?’
Nobody lets their thoughts to be known by Poen.
Maybe they will be a chat about his obsession someday.
For now, they should focus on the present time predicament.
Mar is the next one to speak.
“Maybe… they are here to ask us about the incident.”
Everyone understood what he was referring to the kidnappers that attacked them while returning.
No of them are sure what exactly happened at that night.
Except for Joy, he knows that mysticism was involved in it.
So, he is prepared even if this calling is related to that.
All he has to do is act normal and be innocent.
It would become even easier with others around.
So, he isn’t too worried about it.
After this little chitchat, all of them together went to see why are they actually called.
As they are approaching the entrance.
Mar, Kek and Joy sees a familiar figure.
It is officer Ben.
This policeman was the one who saved them from the kidnapper and then went with them until they were back home.
He was very gentle with them and was also quite friendly.
So, they don’t feel any immediately fear or anything like that.
Except for Poen, he wasn’t there so he is a sweating right now.
When they reach Officer Ben, they see Priest Nors with him too.
Both were chatting and laughing with each other.
This also helped making the atmosphere light.
Ben notices them and he speaks.
“How are you children? I hope you didn’t encounter anything after that night?”
Everyone shook their heads, letting him know that nothing of that sort happened to them.
Then he spoke again.
“Does anyone of you remember the face of the man who was following you?”
Poen had no idea what had happened.
Even after knowing the details from his friends, he is still puzzled about various things.
So, he is of no help to the police officer.
Mar and Kek has seen a man in the illegal bazaar.
He man could be an accomplice of the one who had attack them.
But they don’t remember every detail of that man’s facial features.
It is really had to even imagine it in their heads.
Only thing that they’re able to tell is that the man had very short hair and had dark side.
Everything else is a blur.
Joy was the only one who knew the face of the man very well.
However, he didn’t spoke and instead watched everyone else’s description.
When it was his turn to speak, Ben spoke first.
“You don’t have to be scared. It would help us catch the bad guy and make this place safer.”
He isn’t sure if Ben had assumed his caution as hesitation.
But it didn’t matter much either way.
He can’t really hide away.
Natural thing to do is to let them know how he looked.
But he doesn’t have to describe the face too perfectly.
He can just be vague as it would be odd for a child like him to give a detailed description of the accomplice of the kidnapper.
He speaks.
“Man had short hair and he was very tall. His eyes were… blank and he seemed to have a picture on his right arm. He had a mustache and no beard. He looks very scary and… wore a grayish shirt.”
As he spoke, the image of the man was made in his head.
Man’s short hair that almost made him look bold.
His height that didn’t surpass above two meters.
His eyes were black in color and on his right arm, he had a tattoo of a serpent.
The man’s mustache almost looked fake because it didn’t match his hair so perhaps it was a fake mustache.
His grayish shirt looked ordinary and quite thin.
That made him see that his physique was very thin.
The image of the man that surface in Joy’s mind kept itself shape and didn’t disappear.
It is like the image of the man has turned into a portrait all by itself.
This confused Joy but he didn’t pay too much attention to it.
After all, thinking about face doesn’t make one picture them.
Officer Ben smiled at Joy and then said.
“Good job. This will be really helpful in our search for the kidnapper. You all can return to your sleep.”
Joy didn’t understand what he meant by sleep.
But all of them did as they were told and left to get back to the temple.
Then he woke up.
‘WHAT?
That was a dream?’ He looks around in panics but when he doesn’t find anyone around him.
He calmed himself down.
Then he tries to make sense of that just happened.
‘Officer Ben actually never came to the temple today.
We chitchatted and worked all day.
After that we returned back home.
Does that mean that police officer had invaded my dream and made that dream world to gather information from everyone?
Did he invade their dreams too?’ It all made sense to him now.
What he was dreaming was a reflection of his day.
But there was an added scenario made by Ben so he can recover the image of the accomplice.
That is also the reason why when he thought of that man’s facial features it turned into a portrait.
After ten minutes of making sense of everything around him.
He finally lays back into his bed.
Then he thinks.
‘Dream domain is terrifying if this ability is in the hands of an enemy.
They can know any secret of mine without any resistance.
Or maybe the ability is limited as officer ben had to make add a scene in the dream to communicate with us.
So, perhaps the ability is limited to the imagination of the wielder.’ He thinks harder also make a guess that this ability probably also only works when the perhaps is asleep.
However, he isn’t sure if through this ability.
The person can harm the one who is in a dream too.
Joy sighs and goes back to sleep.
Now that the officer has gotten what he wanted he probably won’t bother him.
