In the morning of Wednesday in Goddess temple.
Joy doesn’t hear lecture from old Nors.
It might be because he doesn’t want Joy to know that he had send someone to monitor him.
Or he really is just clueless about it.
Of course, he doubts the latter.
Currently, he is the only one who is working at the Goddess temple.
Others hasn’t arrived yet.
Perhaps, they’re too tired or too frightened from yesterday’s events.
He could’ve also slept a little more.
But he didn’t feel like doing so as to distract yourself it is best to put yourself into work.
It is both better for your physical body and mental health.
However, not everyone can be like him.
So, it is also fair to take a little break to relax your body.
Every person has different bodies so they themselves are the one who knows how to take care of it.
If not, then it is also their fault for not taking care of their bodies.
‘Sigh.
Life is sure a tiring hobby.
Ha.’ He makes a joke that only he would understand because he is the only one who reincarnate to a different body after death.
So, in a sense it is a hobby that he can’t really drop.
Now that he has encountered people are actually has even more powerful ability that surpass human limitation.
It is nature for him to feel fear.
He had never thought that through these rituals people can gain ability to literally control shadows.
Or place people into dream world.
However, he still feels like something is missing.
The ability ritual that he come to understand from the cursed book.
Those rituals aren’t as powerful as shadow control or dream bending.
It is also true that many pages were missing form the cursed book.
So, it could that he has missed a lot of important information.
Like a way to advance yourself even further.
The ability ritual does give inhumane abilities.
But the body of the person still remains human.
Even if the ability itself can be strengthening your body to a certain degree.
That is due to the ability ritual, it doesn’t sound right.
Perhaps, there is a way to strength your soul and body through another ritual or something else.
But Joy has no clue as to what it requires or what does he has to do to find it.
The super human body of that police officer and the kidnapper sure were part advance than what Joy knows.
This is made him again hesitant to go outside.
He has gathered info about where his 2nd incarnation home was but he isn’t sure if he can go there with his current strength.
Not to mention, he doesn’t have any money for travel at all.
In his savings, there are only thirty and the coin left from his illegal bazaar shopping is thirteen.
So, in total he has forty-three.
This isn’t enough for travel at all.
Just going to the Daz side would take about thirty to forty trupees.
And he has to add the amount for his return journey as well.
So, approximately eighty.
Then there are food and other supplies which will also amount to twenty or so.
So, in total he needs more than hundred trupees.
He already gets food and shelter from the Goddess temple so they don’t pay him.
Only occasionally when there is some overtime then they pay with one or two trupees.
So, this saving is actually has taken him years.
Only thing that he can do is ask priest for extra work so they can pay him a little for his work.
It would be hard as there aren’t any work to be done.
But weekends are quite a working day as there is food delivered to them and that delivering takes a lot of labor.
If not delivery.
He might gain some for maintaining the food for the Goddess temple.
They won’t disagree with him as it is also a serve for the Goddess’s believers and they won’t mind paying him for it.
This would increase his work though and it isn’t a fast way of earning money at all.
As he will only earn four or five trupees with it on weekends.
It will take him few mouths for sure.
He will talk about this to Old Nors.
Maybe he can tell him some other way to other money too.
Joy sighs inwardly as his future seems to be filled with a lot of work.
He can only pray to Goddess that he won’t collapse from exhaustion while doing this tiring work.
***
In the evening of Wednesday in Goddess temple.
He has talked with old Nors about his plans for the futures.
Without any surprise, priest has agreed with him and also told him if he can do a little overtime everyday after his other duties.
Then he can come to him and help him sort out Goddess’s scriptures and other written material.
Joy has never told anyone that he can read and write Coosma.
It could be suspicious for a kid to know this language without going to school or taking any tuition.
So, he has acted like an illiterate for years.
However, he does let everyone know that he can count up to one hundred or so.
That is with the help of priests of the Goddess temple.
In reality though, he knows addition, subtraction, multiplication and division too.
But unfortunately, he can’t let anyone know that.
‘Sometimes, it is frustrating to act all illiterate when I actually know everything.
What a curse…’ He lampoons inwardly.
His job with old Nors is simple.
He just has to count scriptures and place them in a sorted fashion.
It isn’t a hard job at all and if he finishes soon then he can also return early.
This overtime and weekend food maintenance will earn him 7 Trupees per week. New chapters come out on novelping.com first.
The regular laborers of other stable job earn 10 trupees a week.
So, he is basically earning as much as an adult as a six years old boy.
He chuckles inwardly and listens to old Nors’s instruction about how to sort these materials.
The sorting method was simple is easily understood by him.
Sorting will be done based on four methods; time of making the scripture, who made or written the scripture, what type of theory is provided in the scripture and what laws are described in the scriptures.
With relation to all these methods the sorting should be made.
Joy doesn’t really have to worry about these methods though as he just has to count them.
But he basically understood the just of it when old Nors was describing him the materials.
The most interesting part of these scriptures is that they sound more related to ‘science’ than actually scriptures.
If he didn’t know it before he would’ve thought that he is looking at some files or a science lab.
He doesn’t know much about science.
But from Goddess’s teachings, he has grasp that everything in this world works on a principle.
Like how the earth revolves around the earth or why sky changes color or what actually are the stars in the night sky.
Some of this information written in these scriptures are revolutions provided by Goddess herself.
Others are found out by curious people who worshipped Goddess and followed her path to learn more about the world.
But he isn’t really interested in knowing everything about this thing called ‘science’.
It is complicated and he doesn’t really have much time to look at all the papers individually.
He has to act like an illiterate so he can’t really do anything about it.
However, he does find one of the scriptures to be much more interesting than others.
This scripture is a story written by a scientist who got a revolution from Goddess in his dream.
His name was Alishan Bokmorn
According to him, the Goddess is sort of a libertarian.
She moves from planet to planet and gives her wisdom.
She brings peace to her believers and let them know of many the secrets of the cosmos.
The story goes even deeper about different planets and galaxies.
But he doesn’t have time to read it all.
So, he leaves it all.
However, this does bring up a question in his mind.
‘Doesn’t that mean that she is actually the ‘Goddess from Cosmos’ and not the ‘Goddess of Cosmos’.
She doesn’t have an authority over it or at least not full authority.
So, she actually like a messenger of sorts.’ This thought does sounds like blasphemy to him.
But he isn’t doubting her.
He is just correcting her name with what he read from the story of Alishan.
However, it still makes him feel unease so he apologizes to Goddess for thinking that way.
It is common for believers to make their Gods sound mightier or every more powerful than other Gods.
It is basically what people do with whatever they believe in.
It is human nature to exaggerate the truth a little bit.
So, both names are true in a sense.
Joy shakes these thoughts away form his mind.
He should contain his curious mind and never tell anyone what he had just thought.
It is best for his own life of peace.
