That shot killed the zombie dog chasing them and saved Chris in the process.
In the middle of that chaos, the helicopter pilot, Brad, saw the situation spiraling out of control and immediately took off in the chopper to save his own skin.
As for the others, under Wesker’s lead, they ran like mad toward the mansion.
No one knew how long they kept sprinting, but by the time all of them were nearly out of breath, they finally burst through the mansion doors.
And with the whole team charging inside, the plot of Resident Evil 1 officially began.
At that exact moment, the reincarnators’ public chat channel exploded.
Wesker, Jill, and Chris—faces that had also appeared in the movies—showed up one after another.
The others were both thrilled and terrified.
Thrilled because, at long last, they had finally seen familiar faces.
Terrified because one of those faces was Wesker.
Han Yue, who was already awake by then, saw the chat blow up and immediately grabbed his phone to check the time.
“Looks like the plot’s started.”
He quickly got out of bed, threw on his clothes, and ran straight toward the first-floor hall.
……..
Meanwhile, in the main hall, everyone discovered that Chris—who had come in with them—was suddenly nowhere to be found.
(In the game, there’s a Jill route and a Chris route.
If you play as Chris, Jill disappears; if you play as Jill, Chris vanishes for a while instead, and Barry stays close to her.
Since Rebecca isn’t here now, we’re obviously following the Jill-side setup.)
Then a gunshot rang out from somewhere deeper inside the mansion.
Wesker immediately ordered Jill to investigate.
Barry volunteered to go with her.
The two of them headed through the door on the left, which led into a huge, lavishly decorated dining room.
Then Barry noticed a pool of blood on the floor.
“Jill, see if you can find any other clues.”
“I’ll check this out.
Let’s just hope it isn’t Chris’s blood.”
Jill answered, then pushed open the side door and stepped into the corridor beyond.
There were no lights in the hallway.
Only a faint wash of moonlight spilled in through the windows.
Ahead was a corner.
Jill tightened her grip on her pistol and slowly moved forward.
And then she saw a scene she would never forget for the rest of her life.
A smile over the shoulder.
A zombie slowly turned its head toward her.
Its mouth was slick with blood.
And the corpse it had been gnawing on belonged to one of Bravo Team’s members.
Jill, who had never witnessed anything like this before, shuddered violently in fright.
The moment panic took over and she turned to run, she slammed straight into Han Yue, who had just come downstairs.
Feeling a girl suddenly crash into his arms, Han Yue could not help thinking that happiness had come a little too suddenly.
If you’re this proactive, I’m getting embarrassed.
Unfortunately, now was obviously not the time for flirting.
The zombie behind them let out a beast-like roar, as if to say: I object to this marriage.
Han Yue, on the other hand, was basically like: We’re clearly a perfect match, so since when does a zombie get a vote?
Then—he raised his pistol, aimed at the approaching zombie, and fired three shots in a row, putting down Mr.
One-Smile on the spot.
The sudden gunfire caught Barry’s attention, and he immediately rushed over.
Jill also realized at that moment that she did not know the man in front of her at all, and quickly pulled herself out of Han Yue’s chest.
“Who are you?” Barry stared at Han Yue with obvious caution.
Han Yue took out his ID.
“John.
Chief Researcher transferred from Chicago.
But after I arrived, I discovered that everyone in this place had turned into zombies.”
“Oh, right—are you with Raccoon City’s S.T.A.R.S.
team?”
As he spoke, Han Yue pointed at their uniforms.
“Yes.
My name is Barry, and this is Jill.”
Barry even reached out and shook his hand.
“I’ve got a friend in S.T.A.R.S.
too.
We only separated not long ago.
Her name is Rebecca—you should know her, right?”
“Rebecca?
The rookie?”
“Where is she now?”
“We split up this morning.
You have no idea how dangerous last night was…”
After that, Han Yue gave them a relatively brief summary of everything that had happened the night before.
The more they listened, the deeper the two of them frowned.
That was only because they had already seen zombies and zombie dogs with their own eyes.
If it had been anyone else telling them this, they probably would have thought they were listening to some kind of sci-fi story.
Even so, disbelief was still written all over their faces.
It was just that the zombie lying at their feet—and the Bravo Team member who had been chewed beyond recognition—were both silently telling them…
that what Han Yue was saying was very likely true.
“I saw Kenneth get killed by this monster.
Should we report this to Wesker?”
Barry nodded and gave a low grunt of agreement, then turned to look at Han Yue.
Han Yue smiled.
“I’ll come with you.
There are monsters everywhere in this place.
It’s too dangerous for me to stay alone.”
Neither of them refused.
So the three of them returned together to the main hall.
But Wesker was nowhere to be seen.
It’s not really mandatory—I’ll eventually upload all the chapters here—but it helps a lot in supporting me and allows me to dedicate more time to it.
