RAMIREZ PACK

ROSALIA’S POV

“If only I had known Patricia was the chosen one from the prophecy all along, things might have been different,” I heard my father whisper to my stepmother, and I stopped in my tracks.Full novel: Rejected The Alpha, Bound To The Wolfless Bastard — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They were in the hallway next to mine.

“Yes, the situation has gone quite unexpectedly,” my stepmother replied, sounding disappointed.

“Exactly,” he instantly replied.

“Everyone already thinks Alpha Ramirez should be with Patricia, so why won’t he reconsider?”

That wasn’t a particularly nice thing to hear your father say on the day of your engagement party.

But I was used to it.

‘From the Moncaro pack, an heir will be blessed by the Moon Goddess and have a rare ability that allows one to bring prosperity to a pack.’

That was the prophecy a temple keeper at the Moon Goddess temple had told my father and me when I was 7 years old.

I entered their hallway and approached them.

My father turned to look at me.

An annoyed expression appeared on his face.

“Father, I’m ready,” I said, ignoring their comments when I reached them.

“What took you so long!?” He demanded.

“I apologise,” I said, but I wasn’t even that late.

He just wanted to nitpick.

He should be complimenting my engagement dress, but he doesn’t.

Alpha Ramirez, my future mate and husband, had gifted me the baby pink dress.

He had also gifted me the expensive gold jewellery I wore, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

No matter, I didn’t need my father’s approval anyway.

Alphonso would lift my mood and make me forget about my father, as he always did.

However, he wasn’t here.

We should enter our engagement party together, but he told me he had some work to finish off.

So he told me to start without him.

I took out my phone and quickly texted him.

“Entering the party now, see you soon.”

When I saw him, I had something important to tell him.

Something I had been waiting for the right time to confess.

“Where’s Patricia?” I asked, noticing she wasn’t with them.

“She’s already inside.” My father answered curtly.

My stepmother smiled suspiciously at the question.

Ramirez sentinels stood on guard by the large double doors to the ballroom.

They opened them for us, and we entered.

Classical music drifted through the ballroom.

The smell of expensive perfumes and finger foods filled my nostrils.

The light from the endless chandeliers scattered across the high ceiling was blinding.

All the guests turned to look my way as I walked in.

‘Why is she entering alone?”

“Where is Alpha Ramirez?”

The crowd began to whisper.

I paid them no mind as I began my duties as Alphonso’s fiancé and future Luna, greeting the guests.

The guests gave me judgmental looks.

I was used to receiving them.

“Can’t believe he’s actually going to marry her even though her sister is the obvious choice.” I heard a distant whisper.

“Clearly Patricia is the one the prophecy talks about.”

So much confidence in that walk of hers for a failure.”

“She always seems so proud.”

“At least Rosa is not wolfless. It could have been worse.”

As usual, I ignored the comments and continued greeting them.

Many of them were Spain’s most powerful Alphas.

They were all terrifying, as you would expect from the most powerful Alphas in the country.

They all seemed to stare at me with an odd curiosity.

I’m sure they were wondering why Alpha Ramirez, one of the most powerful Alphas in the country, still insisted on the marriage.

I recalled when they fought to make me their future luna or to be a part of their pack in the past.

They gave up once I turned 18 and did not awaken an ability.

In a world where wolves with abilities were rare, it was common for the most powerful packs to collect them.

Alpha Ramirez was the only one who remained interested.

It had been too long since I entered the party, and Alphonso still hadn’t arrived.

He hadn’t responded to the message I sent him earlier either.

Growing worried, I left the room to look for him.

I checked his bedroom first, as it was the nearest to the ballroom.

Empty.

Memories flooded my mind from all the things we’d done in there.

Next was his office.

I couldn’t believe he was still working up to now.

I walked down the long ornate hallways.

Several jewels decorated the walls.

The Ramirez pack specialised in the mining and selling of rare jewels.

As I neared the office, suspiciously loud sounds caught my ear.

Groaning.

Moaning.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

When I reached the door, I slowly opened it to find Alphonso and my older half-sister, Patricia, inside.

They were by his desk.

A loud groan escaped Alphonso as he gripped Patricia tighter.

“Patricia, we have to go to the party; Rosa’s waiting,” he panted as he thrust into her.

“It’ll only be for a second, and then we can leave,” she replied.

“Alphonso?” I called out his name in shock, stepping fully into the office.

They both turned to face me, and horror crossed his face.

“Rosa?” He said my name.

He suddenly pulled out of Patricia.

I frowned in disgust and turned on my heels, leaving the room.

“Wait, Rosa!” He called after me.

Patricia had always been attracted to Alphonso, but I never thought he would entertain her.

Tears began streaming down my face as I rushed out the door and ran down the hallway.

‘I don’t care that you don’t have the ability; I love you.’ He had told me.

Just when I thought finally someone had loved me for me.

I should have known that no one would.

My father taught me that well.

“Find her!” Alphonso’s voice echoed.

I assumed he was ordering guards after me.

Suddenly, a pulsing heat coursed through my hands.

I looked down and saw them begin to glow.

No.

Not now.

Shit.

I couldn’t let anybody see like this.

Especially not Alphonso.
