ALPHONSO’S POV
“I’ll get ready now. See you soon,” Rosalia said, and she kissed me.
I bit my lip as I watched her walk away.
Dark chestnut brown long hair, dark red full lips, smooth olive skin.
A slender, yet curvy body.
Rosalia had grown into quite a beautiful woman.
She had a confident walk and always held her head high.
Despite everyone talking down on her, she had this outward aura of confidence.
Last week I was worried when she asked to call off the engagement.
I knew how sharp she was and that she would yell at me after catching me with Patricia.
I liked that about her, but I never imagined she would want to end our engagement altogether.
I’m glad to see she had got the message quickly and returned to normal.
I paid a hefty price for her and her sister to that idiot father of hers who was drowning in debt.
She wasn’t about to slip away just like that.
Most importantly, I wasn’t about to lose her.
Not to mention how we genuinely align on so many things.
We can look back at that time in the future and just think of the small blip we had gone through.
Rosalia will always be the Luna.
No matter what happens with Patricia, Rosa will always come first.
If I have children with Patricia, that won’t affect Rosa’s children.
Her children will be the legitimate heirs.
Rosa has nothing to worry about.
I turned to Rosa’s parents, who were standing in the temple entrance hall, and chatted with them about the day’s events.
Patricia then came forward.
“Alpha Ramirez, I’m being called for an emergency just outside with the sentinels. I’ll be back soon,” she told me.
“Fine,” I replied.
She then stood up on her tiptoes, and I realized she wanted a kiss.
I placed my hand on her face and caressed her cheek.
“Not here, Patricia.”
A look of disappointment crossed her face.
“Yes, Alpha,” she accepted, and then left.
I wanted to keep their times separate.
Today was Rosa’s day.
What I did in the office during the engagement party was careless.
That was neither the time nor the place for that.
I’ll have to be mindful of that going forward.
I left Rosa’s parents to handle some final adjustments for the day, and once I was done, went straight to the ceremony room.
Luckily, I came already dressed in my suit for the ceremony.
The decorated room was filled with guests who were chattering away.
As I walked down the aisle, they looked at me.
Rosa’s parents were seated in the front row.
Patricia hadn’t returned, still taking care of that issue.
Beside them in the front row were some powerful Alphas.
In particular, Alpha Ventura, Alpha Salvador, and Alpha Chavez.
Together, the four of us were the wealthiest and most powerful Alphas in Spain.
The ‘core four’, most people called us.
15 minutes later, I received the message that Rosa was finally ready.
The doors at the end of the aisle opened, and she entered holding her father’s arm.
Her usual confident gait was a little off.
Perhaps she’s nervous?
Today was a big day after all.
When she reached me, I took her hand and helped her up the podium, and we took our positions.
Her unmistakable scent filled my nostrils.
It was sweet and floral, and I immediately felt at ease.
My eyes raked down her body, and the dress I purchased looked perfect on her.
I raised my hands to completely remove the veil that covered her face.
“Wait, I’m a little nervous,” her soft voice said.
My eyes rested on the tiny mole near her lip.
Something I had grown to find adorable.
“It’s okay,” I said understandingly.
The Temple Keeper and Moon Goddess priest stepped forward and stood in front of Rosa and me.
“Today we are gathered for the union of Alphonso Dameano Ramirez of the Ramirez Pack and Rosalia Moncaro of the Moncaro Pack.”
Once he finished the introductory speech, Rosa and I began chanting the ancient language used for the mate bond.
My hands went up to her face, and I placed my lips on hers.
A strange feeling came over me.
Rosa’s kisses were usually energetic.
I could understand she was currently overwhelmed.
But it’s almost as if her lips… felt different.
However before I could process further she suddenly bit into my lip.
I too did the same.
As I bit into her lip the feeling of her wolf came.
Then something else.
A power?
Rosa had an ability?
No, she didn’t.
Something is wrong.
As the sensation coursed through my body the feeling became clearer.
Healing, is what settled.
But it was too late, the bond was already sealed.
“You are not my bride!” I growled then snatched the veil off her head.
The crowd gasped in shock.
I grabbed her face and squeezed it hard and carefully scrutinised it.
“Who are you?”
She shrieked in fear as she stared at me.
My eyebrows furrowed as I processed her face wondering what the hell was going on.
She looked like Rosa perfectly.
Down to the mole on her lip and her chestnut brown hair.
It must be the makeup.
She even smelled like her.
Then I noticed the tracks in her hair and snatched off the wig.
Jet-black hair came into view.
“Patricia?” Shock in my voice.
Of course, her sister, who had enough physical similarities to Rosa, had me fooled.
I should have known from the way she walked in that something was wrong.
Even so, how had she mimicked her voice?
“What have you done!?” I screamed into her face.
“I can be a Luna, Alphonso. I can prove it to you. Everyone already thinks I should be your Luna.” She said to me.
My face scrunched in confusion.
“You foolish woman! You clearly don’t know your place!” I didn’t even know how to begin to explain just how serious what she had done was.
In front of all these people…to embarrass me like this.
Including the other core four alphas!
If she wasn’t useful, I would kill her right here and now.
Not to mention the bond would prevent me.
I turned to her father, who sat in the front row.
“Did you know about this!?”
“No, Alpha!” He replied in horror.
“Where is she?” I demanded, Patricia, and shook her.
“She’s locked in the dressing room,” she coughed out.
Fuck.
I rushed out of the room as everyone stood up, whispering amongst themselves.
Dealing with the engagement party was one thing.
I was able to control that.
This, however, I couldn’t control.
I opened the dressing room doors and found Rosa kissing another man.
No.
The blood trailing from their lips caught my eyes as a feeling of horror came over me as I feared what may have occurred.
