ROSALIA’S POV

“What is the meaning of this!” Alphonso shouted.

A look I could only describe as horror was on his face.Full novel: Rejected The Alpha, Bound To The Wolfless Bastard — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

How do I handle this situation?

I quickly thought to myself.

Helio just messed up the initial aftermath plan I had with David.

Could it still work with Helio?

“I don’t know what you have planned, but don’t think I’ll wait to find out!” I snapped in a whisper to Helio.

His eyebrow cocked at me.

I turned back to Alphonso, who had reached me.

He pushed Helio away from me, and he fell to the floor.

“What have you done!?” Alphonso demanded.

Alphonso lowered himself and placed his hands to my face.

He appeared so stricken as his eyes lingered on the blood from my lip.

Behind him were some of his servants and my parents.

Patricia was distraught as she followed after Alphonso.

I began to cry, trying to look as sympathetic as possible.

“I don’t know Al,” I started.

“I was getting ready for the ceremony when Patricia suddenly came in here with some servants. They held me down, and she told me I wasn’t going to bond with you, then took my dress and locked me in the room.”

I stopped briefly as I continued to cry.

“Then the door opened, and this man forced me to bond with him.”

Pure horror crossed Alphonso’s face.

“That’s not true. I didn’t send this man to her. I just locked her up, I swear it, Alpha Ramirez!” Patricia cried out.

“Shut it!” Alphonso snapped at her.

“You expect me to believe that!”

I wasn’t out right blaming Patricia for everything, and I didn’t have to.

The situation made her look bad regardless.

If I had bonded with David, he would have corroborated my story and said Patricia promised him money.

Thereby further incriminating Patricia.

I wasn’t sure how Helio would respond.

Regardless of what he claimed, I would feign ignorance.

My word against his.

However, he didn’t refute my lie and just kept quiet.

He knew I was lying.

Strange.

Alphonso turned his attention back to Helio before grabbing him again.

“Exactly as she stated. I made her bond with me,” he said nonchalantly.

“You insolent…” Alphonso snapped and punched him in the face.

Helio spat out blood and laughed.

“Alpha Ramirez, if you do anything drastic to me, you might harm Lady Moncaro,” Helio said as if taunting Alphonso.

Alphonso looked even angrier but stopped himself as he noticed something.

“You’re wearing a Salvador uniform. What were you sent to do?” Alphonso’s eyes narrowed.

Helio only smiled at him.

Why was he acting so arrogant?

Was he trying to trigger Alphonso?

“Call for Alpha Salvador now! Get a Temple Keeper in here to confirm the bond, ” Alphonso ordered one of his attendants.

“Yes, Alpha,” he accepted and ran off.

Minutes later, Alpha Salvador entered the room.

My eyes widened.

He looked just like… Helio.

What in the world?!

Helio had told me he was acting on his own.

Helio had lied after all?!

“What is the meaning of this, Alpha Salvador?” Alphonso demanded.

“The meaning of what?” Lorenzo Salvador stepped forward.

His eyes darted from me to Helio.

He looked taken aback, as if shocked.

I wanted to roll my eyes.

Why is he acting innocent when he surely sent Helio to me?

He probably knows about my ability.

Up close, the resemblance between Helio and Lorenzo was uncanny.

They must be siblings.

The only difference was that Helio had a ‘rougher’ appearance.

I didn’t know Lorenzo had siblings.

To my knowledge, he was the only legitimate heir.

But why did Lorenzo send Helio to do it instead of bonding with me himself if that was the case?

An alpha would want the power for himself.

Will he reveal my ability here?

“We have always been cordial with each other, Lorenzo. I never imagined you would disrespect me like this. Is this Salvador starting a war with the Ramirez Pack?” Alphonso challenged him.

Exactly, I thought to myself.

You don’t pull a stunt like that unless you want to start a fight.

Stealing and bonding the woman of another pack is incredibly daring.

Lorenzo’s eyes narrowed in contemplation. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

He looked at Helio for a moment with a look I couldn’t quite read.

It seemed like anger.

But why would he be angry?

Moreover, there was a shift in Helio’s demeanor as he stared back at Lorenzo.

What was going on between them?

“Well!?” Alphonso demanded, waiting for Lorenzo to answer him.

Lorenzo finally looked away from Helio and surprisingly started laughing.

Everyone in the room gasped.

I thought I saw a vein pop in Alphonso’s temple.

“You find this situation funny?” He snapped.

“You think Salvador is to blame for this?” Lorenzo asked.

“Are you feigning ignorance, or are you insulting me? You send your relative, the spitting image of you, to steal my bride?”

“Why are you pointing the blame at me, when the fault lies solely with you? This would never have occurred if your mistress hadn’t hijacked your wedding. You can’t blame Salvador for your failure to manage your women,” Lorenzo went on.

An irritated look crossed Alphonso’s face.

“Those are fighting words,” he hissed.

“Do you realise how you would look to start a pack war over what everyone else here has seen was your own mistress doing?” Lorenzo said.

“But why did you go after her in the first place!?” Alphonso tried to interrogate.

“Regardless of the reason, we are not the ones who attacked first,” Lorenzo pressed on.

You could cut the tension with a knife as the two men glared at each other.

The Temple Keeper arrived and went to Alphonso.

Temple Sentinels soon entered as well.

Some stayed by the dressing room door to prevent others from entering.

“Check their bond,” Alphonso ordered.

The temple Keeper came to me and placed his hand over my head, his long robe swatting my face.

He muttered words in the ancient language.

Once he was done, he went over to Helio and did the same.

“These two are now legally bonded. The mate bond has made them one,” he confirmed.

“No,” Alphonso breathed out.

Disappointment in his voice.

“Can you break it?”

“Alpha, you know we don’t do that. It’s strictly forbidden,” he answered.

“She was supposed to be my bride! I bonded Patricia without consent!” Alphonso complained.

“Be that as it may, you still said your vows to her and sealed the bond.”

“This is ridiculous!” He refused.

“There must be some way to remove it!”

“Alpha Ramirez, it’s dangerous. Miss Rosalia Moncaro is now this sentinel’s mate, and you are Miss Patricia Moncaro’s. There is nothing that can be done,” The Temple Keeper explained.
