Large manhood is better in theory than in practice.
Unfortunately, so many men who fall into the bigger category think that’s good enough… A sweating, muscular body writhed on top of Adela.
Her nails dug into his impossibly hard shoulders, but there was no other reaction from her.
There never really was.
At least not in a long time.
“Brandon…” she sighed his name for good measure, hoping it would pacify him.
As he began to shudder on top of her, she knew that she had hit something.
Her pheromones tended to be enough.
“You used to be more reactive,” he muttered as he rolled away from her and began zipping back up his pants.
Of course, she had to be naked.
As he stood up from the low bed, he found a towel and tossed it to her carelessly.
She flinched.
She had a black eye and a split lip from another alpha.
“Jumpy,” Brandon commented with a smirk.
Cleaning between her legs, she kept her deep blue eyes down so he wouldn’t see her as defiant.
She couldn’t tell him that she used to be more reactive because she wasn’t used to being taken against her will every night by one of three men.
Now she was numb.
It was her way of surviving.
“I was younger then,” she reminded him, referring to his earlier point.
“Sixteen.” It was as if he hadn’t heard her.
“Get cleaned up,” Brandon insisted.
“It is your turn to take care of Her Majesty tonight.” “Yes.” How could she forget?
She had big plans tonight When he was gone—without locking the door, she noticed—Adela rushed to her bathroom and took a fast shower.
There was no need to wash her hair, but washing his scent off of her was a must.
She would also have to make sure to suppress her pheromones from here onward.
Soon she was presentable with a grey hoodie over a white tank top and camo cargo pants on her lower half.
The pants were perfect for carrying a lot of useful items, such as a knife.
She exited her room.
There was no point in sparing it a last glance.
This compound was built into the side of a cliff, and many of the more protected residences were carved deep into the rock.
That was where her room was.
It was noted that the old Queen’s home was further off on the fringe.
It was the alphas’ silent way of saying she wasn’t a high priority to them anymore, as they waited for her to wither away.
She knocked once before entering the small, dark home.
There, the Queen lay in her bed.
It was the same place she had been since falling ill and would likely be where she was until her last breath.
She was the only thing standing in the way of Adela becoming Queen of the Werewolves.
All she had to do was make sure the old woman hadn’t died prematurely.
She also gave her a bit of water and saw most of it dribble out the side of her mouth.
Adela felt conflicted.
This woman was never cruel to her like the others.
She steeled her expression.
This wasn’t her problem any longer.
After allowing the sun to dip below the surface and darkness to take over, only then did Adela walk away from the house.
With each step to the west, she reminded herself to hide her pheromones.
And then, the second she made it to the forest, Adela began to run as fast as she could in the hiking boots she had chosen.
The forest smelled fresh compared to the werewolf compound.
It held onto the rain even though the rainy season was far past them.
It was the only place she found comfort when she was first forced to move here.
For now, all she had was the hope of freedom.
It had to be enough.
But as soon as the burning of her bond began, she found herself on her knees in the forest.
She was pulled in four directions, but the three from the alphas she left behind were the most convincing.
Adela lifted her eyes ahead of her and, with great control, managed to keep running forward.
There were a few things being half-werewolf had granted her.
She could see well in the darkness.
Even if she couldn’t access her wolf form easily, she was still faster than most other beings that would be in the forest.
A gasp escaped her lips when she heard a howl in the distance.
“Shit,” she cursed.
Had they already noticed?
No matter what, she had to keep running.
She had to get out of there, or she was going to be punished.
They wouldn’t stop at the split lip or black eye.
No, her body would be violated the way it was when she first thought she had agency over herself.
Tears fell from her eyes, but determination shone through the burn of her bond to those werewolves.
And then she heard them running through the forest to catch her.
It wouldn’t be long.
They were faster than her—stronger than her.
Adela’s boot caught a root, and it sent her flying as she tripped.
What she hadn’t seen before was a ravine.
She tumbled downward.
When her motion stopped, she was facedown with her arms covering her head.
Her body ached.
The sounds of the werewolves tearing through the forest to find her were getting closer and closer.
Even if her pheromones were stopped.
She was certainly bleeding, and they would track her down.
“No, no, no!” she cried.
“Hell would be better than this.
S-Send me to Hell.” The earth shook.
Suddenly, a flash of red overtook her, and the temperature started rising.
She screamed.
When she came to, she heard the noise of chains as she lifted her head.
That was all she could move.
She was bound to a chair.
The room was hot.
“Well, well, well…” A deep voice was heard, and her eyes snapped open, tears beginning immediately.
She didn’t recognize this man.
“Where are they?” she demanded, her voice wavering.
“D-Don’t send me back to them.
I will do anything.” Her head hung as she sobbed.
The man crossed his arms, his black eyebrows lowering as he stared with his piercing red eyes.
He was kind of offended that she was more scared of whoever “they” were than the man who dragged her to Hell.
He leaned down until he was inches away from her ear.
“Who says what I do with you won’t be worse than whoever was chasing you?” he whispered.
