Hearing the voice, Yun Mojiu looked up to see Xie Tongtong and Sun Xiaoxuan standing at the entrance.

Sun Xiaoxuan still had that delicate, pitiable demeanor.

Her complexion looked even worse than a few days ago.Full novel: Remarried to the Capital’s Elite: I Use Metaphysics to Rule! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The dark aura above her head had grown thicker.

Xie Tongtong, on the other hand, held her chin high with an air of arrogance.

When she got a clear look at the outfit Yun Mojiu was wearing, a flash of jealousy quickly passed through her eyes.

Damn it, the clothes suited Yun Mojiu perfectly.

Wearing them elevated her entire aura several notches, making her look like a celestial crane soaring above the clouds: elegant, sacred, and unattainably noble.

Xie Tongtong had never shopped in this kind of boutique before.

She had only been passing by, but now, she felt an inexplicable urge to try something on.

Sun Xiaoxuan also felt a surge of jealousy the moment she saw Yun Mojiu.

However, she hid it well, unlike Xie Tongtong, who wore her emotions openly.

At the same time, alarm bells rang in Sun Xiaoxuan’s mind.

The old Yun Mojiu had been pretty, but merely pretty, nothing particularly striking.

Yet the Yun Mojiu now, whether in demeanor or presence, exuded an undeniable magnetism.

Paired with her current outfit, she appeared even more ethereal and untouchable.

In any crowd, she would undoubtedly be the most dazzling one.

Jealousy festered wildly in Sun Xiaoxuan’s heart.

But then, the corners of her lips curled into a smile.

So, what if she was beautiful? Xie Jingling had still abandoned her and chosen Sun Xiaoxuan instead.

That proved she was the better one!

“Sister-in-law, let’s go try some on too!”

Xie Tongtong tugged Sun Xiaoxuan into the store.

Sun Xiaoxuan pretended to hesitate but followed without missing a step.

The two each picked out an outfit to try on.

Xie Tongtong emerged from the fitting room, feeling quite pleased with herself, and proudly stood next to Yun Mojiu.

But when she caught sight of her reflection in the mirror, her expression instantly darkened.

Next to Yun Mojiu, she looked like an ugly duckling!

Yun Mojiu was half a head taller than her, with a slimmer waist, and most importantly, she carried the outfit effortlessly.

Xie Tongtong, on the other hand, looked like a scheming concubine who had stolen the elegant empress’s robes, even draped in finery, she appeared awkward and out of place.

“These clothes are hideous!”

She huffed angrily.

“Miss, we have many other styles,” the shop assistant quickly reassured her.

Xie Tongtong picked out several more outfits.

But no matter what she wore, she felt mismatched and inferior compared to Yun Mojiu.

Frustrated, she flung the clothes aside. “Why are all the clothes in your store so ugly?”

The shop assistants nearly rolled their eyes.

How could she call their clothes ugly when the previous young lady had looked stunning in them?

Blame the clothes for her own lack of beauty, how unreasonable!

While Xie Tongtong fumed, Sun Xiaoxuan was equally dissatisfied.

She had a sweet, delicate appearance but wasn’t particularly tall, a full head shorter than Yun Mojiu.

On top of that, she was pregnant, her belly slightly rounded, and her face fuller than before.

At first glance, the outfit she wore didn’t look bad.

But compared to Yun Mojiu, the difference was like heaven and earth.

As the saying goes, it’s not scary to wear the same outfit, what’s scary is being the uglier one.

Though their styles were different, Sun Xiaoxuan couldn’t shake the feeling that no matter what she wore, she paled in comparison to Yun Mojiu.

Both women were seething inside.

Xie Tongtong had no outlet for her anger until she spotted the price tag on the clothes. She pursed her lips and smirked.

Got it!

Changing back into her own clothes and stepping out of the fitting room in her high heels, she cast a haughty glance at the shop assistants.

“A word of advice, when you’re busy helping people try on clothes, you’d better ask first if they can actually afford to buy them. Otherwise, all that effort for nothing would be such a waste.”

The shop assistants’ expressions darkened at her words.

What did she mean by “helping people”?

Sure, they were in the service industry, but the way she spoke made it sound like they were lowly servants, and it was downright insulting!

At the same time, her words did affect them.

Their eyes involuntarily shifted to Yun Mojiu.

Come to think of it, no one had ever tried on so many clothes at once before.

If she didn’t end up buying anything, wouldn’t it really be a waste of effort, just as that woman said?

“Wrap up everything I’ve picked out.”

Just then, a cool, composed voice broke the silence.

The shop assistants brightened instantly.

Xie Tongtong, however, looked at Yun Mojiu in disbelief. “You’re buying all of that?”

That pile had at least twenty-something items!

She had checked… the clothes in this store weren’t cheap.

The cheapest set cost tens of thousands.

Yun Mojiu didn’t have a job. After marrying her brother, she had been pursuing her master’s degree and had just graduated. She had never earned a single penny.

And she hadn’t taken a cent in the divorce.

Her family, the Yuns, weren’t super wealthy either. Dropping hundreds of thousands on clothes in one go, even Xie Tongtong wouldn’t splurge like that. Did Yun Mojiu even have that kind of money?!

Her eyes were filled with skepticism.

It wasn’t until Yun Mojiu handed over her card and completed the payment that Xie Tongtong was completely stunned.

She actually bought everything!

“Can you deliver the items to my home?” Yun Mojiu asked the shop assistants.

One of them eagerly nodded, beaming.

“Of course! Just leave us your contact information and address.”

Having secured a huge sale, the assistants were all in high spirits.

“Alright.”

After leaving her details, Yun Mojiu turned and walked away gracefully.

“Are you two planning to make a purchase?” one of the assistants asked Xie Tongtong and Sun Xiaoxuan.

“Buy what? Who’d want such ugly clothes anyway!”

Xie Tongtong snorted and dragged Sun Xiaoxuan out of the store.

“Pfft, if you can’t afford it, just say so. No need to act all high and mighty.”

“Exactly. Blaming the clothes for being ugly when the real problem is her face.”

The assistants didn’t bother lowering their voices.

Normally, they wouldn’t mock customers like this, but Xie Tongtong’s earlier remarks had been too rude.

She really needed to be taken down a peg.

Xie Tongtong: !!!

These people!

Fuming, she wanted to storm back and argue, but Sun Xiaoxuan quickly pulled her away.

“Let it go. They’re not worth your time. Let’s check out other stores.”

Only then did Xie Tongtong suppress her temper.

As Yun Mojiu walked, a handsome young man suddenly stepped in front of her.

“Hello, miss. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Chen Zicheng flashed what he thought was a charming smile.

Yun Mojiu lifted her gaze to the man blocking her path.

Handsome, yes, but with a somewhat boyish charm. However…

A mole on his “Deceit Gate” indicated a lascivious and unfaithful nature.

His peach-blossom lips suggested eloquence, skilled at sweet-talking and flattery.

But it also meant his words were empty, not a single one to be trusted.

“Hmm.”

Yun Mojiu gave only a faint acknowledgment before sidestepping to walk around him.

Yet he moved forward again, blocking her once more.

Yun Mojiu was getting annoyed.

“Move aside.”

Her voice carried a hint of chill.

“Miss, I feel we have a special connection. I own a French restaurant upstairs, would you honor me with your company for dinner?”

But Chen Zicheng failed to notice her impatience.
