Chad understood that Spence was out of his mind.
If he didn’t do as he was told, Spence would really shoot.
With no other choice, he dropped his pistol onto the floor.
“Good.
Now kick it over here,” Spence ordered.
Although Chad was reluctant, he had no choice but to nudge the gun toward Spence.
Keeping both weapons trained on the group, Spence slowly squatted down and picked up the dropped pistol.
He was now dual-wielding handguns, completely controlling the room.
“Why are you doing this?” Rain asked, a look of profound betrayal on her face.
She couldn’t fathom how a comrade assigned to protect the laboratory could murder everyone inside and steal the virus.
It was a complete betrayal of his duty.
“You’ve seen what this research is worth,” Spence replied calmly, not hiding his greed in the slightest.
“Someone on the outside offered a price far higher than what Umbrella pays.” “So what if you get the virus?” Rain mocked, her voice cold.
“Betray us for money, and what good does it do?
Aren’t you going to die down here with us anyway?” Spence ignored Rain and turned his gaze to Alice.
“We still have a way out.
Come with me!
There’s more money out there than you could ever imagine.” His voice carried a deceptive warmth as he tried to tempt her step-by-step.
He didn’t care whether the rest lived or died, but he wanted Alice to leave with him.
Even though their marriage had been a fake assignment, after spending time together, he couldn’t deny his attraction to her.
“Do you really think everyone shares your pathetic dream?” Alice rejected him directly, her eyes cold.
A flash of disappointment crossed Spence’s face.
Seeing him momentarily distracted, Rain took a sudden step forward, attempting to disarm him.
Click!
Spence reacted instantly.
He snapped out of his daze and leveled his second gun directly at Rain’s forehead.
Rain froze, knowing the opportunity had passed.
With two guns in his hands, Spence held absolute control.
“You still have your uses, so don’t force my hand,” Spence warned Rain coldly before turning back to Alice.
“I’ll give you one last chance: join me, or suffer the consequences.” “I have nothing to say to you,” Alice replied coldly.
“Fine.
Don’t blame me then.” Spence’s expression hardened into ice.
“Go open the blast door.” “Are you crazy?!” Chad yelled.
“It’s crawling with zombies out there!
Opening that door is suicide!” “Either clear a path for me or die right now,” Spence declared, staring them down with indifference.
“I’ll count to three.
If no one opens the door, I’ll start shooting.” He began his countdown, his fingers tightening on the triggers as he swept the gun barrels across the group.
Facing his coercion, Alice, Rain, Chad, and Matt felt a wave of rage and sheer powerlessness.
Spence was a trained operative; rushing him bare-handed meant instant death.
opening the door meant dying to zombies, but refusing meant dying right now.
Cold sweat broke out on their foreheads as despair settled over the room.
“That’s enough.” Just as the panic reached its peak, Chu Feng stepped out from the back of the group, interrupting Spence’s countdown.
Up until now, he hadn’t wanted to get involved in their internal mess.
But Spence was simply too ruthless—killing innocent researchers for money, and now forcing others to act as living bait just so he could survive.
Growing up under the Red Flag, Chu Feng’s moral compass couldn’t stand such vile behavior.
Even if it meant exposing his abilities, he had to put a stop to this.
“What did you say?” Spence glared at Chu Feng in anger.
“A nameless survivor dares to interrupt me?
You’re courting death!” To Spence, Chu Feng was just a helpless civilian.
If special forces soldiers and elite agents couldn’t stop him, how dare a minor survivor challenge his authority?
Enraged, Spence turned his gun and fired straight at Chu Feng’s head.
BANG!
A shot echoed through the room as a bullet flew straight toward Chu Feng’s face.
He’s dead!
was the single thought in the minds of Alice, Rain, Chad, and Matt.
At this distance, Spence’s marksmanship was lethal.
An ordinary college student had zero chance of dodging.
Facing the fatal shot, Chu Feng stood straight, staring directly at Spence without a trace of fear.
Then, a miracle happened.
Just before reaching Chu Feng’s face, the high-speed bullet suddenly jerked sideways in mid-air.
It completely missed Chu Feng, slamming harmlessly into the steel door behind him with a loud spark.
