Leon lowered his gun and watched Ada Wong approach.

“What exactly happened?

Everything came out of nowhere.”Full novel: Resident Evil: Starting at the Gas Station with Leon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He gestured toward the detention room.

Ada Wong rested a hand on the iron bars and glanced inside, then turned to look at Leon and the others.

“I told you to leave this place.

You don’t want to end up like Ben, do you?”

As she spoke, she tilted her head slightly toward the brutally mangled corpse inside.

“You knew him?”

“He was my informant.

He provided reliable intel for my investigation.”

“…”

“So what he said just now was all true?”

Ada Wong looked at Ben’s body for a moment longer, then uncrossed her arms and turned to leave.

“Hey.

Can you stop walking away like that every time?”

Leon reached out and grabbed her forearm, only to be shaken off immediately.

Ada Wong frowned, her expression clearly displeased.

Claire watched the exchange.

That’s so you, Leon.

“I don’t even know your name.

I’m Leon S.

Kennedy.”

Alan Han covered his face.

Of course.

He had to introduce himself.

Ada Wong lifted her chin slightly, looking at Leon as if weighing something.

“Get out of here first, Leon.”

Her tone softened as she gestured toward the dark opening nearby.

“Leave while you still can.

We’ll talk outside.”

With that, she turned and walked away with that same feline grace.

“…My name is Ada.”

“My name is Alan Han.”

“Got it, kid.

Hope I see you outside.”

Ada Wong didn’t look back as she left.

Alan Han: Almost didn’t even get her to remember my name.

What a failure.

Wait…

how did I get pulled into this too?

Leon stared down the passage where Ada Wong had disappeared, then shifted his gaze to the ID card on Ben.

“I guess that makes it a deal.”

She said we’d talk outside, not go on a date.

You’re getting a bit carried away, Leon, Alan Han sighed.

Claire looked at the two men, each lost in their own thoughts, then crouched down and whispered to Sherry.

“Listen, Sherry.

If you ever meet a clingy guy like that, just stay far away.”

Sherry didn’t quite understand, but she nodded anyway.

Alan Han started searching nearby and picked up a tool that looked like a tractor key, stuffing it into his hip pouch.

Leon steadied himself.

Their priority now was to get out.

He picked up a work log from nearby.

The access system was missing electronic components.

They’d need to find them.

“Let’s go, Claire, Leon.

We need to hurry.

I don’t want to get crushed by that big guy.”

Leon agreed, and the group quickly left the holding area, returning to the parking garage and heading toward another section.

They made their way into a cleaning room.

It was pitch black inside, so Leon and Alan Han, leading the way, turned on their flashlights again.

After walking down a long corridor, Leon found a blue herb.

If he remembered right, it was used to cure poison.

After processing it, he continued forward.

In the next room, they saw several dog cages.

Some still held zombie dogs, while others were empty.

“The dogs that attacked us earlier came from here.

We can’t leave them.”

“Right.

Let’s put them down.”

Three gunshots echoed.

Claire blinked and looked at Sherry, who was watching from the side.

“Um… Sherry, these dogs eat people.

They’re bad dogs, so they had to take care of them.”

Sherry nodded.

“I know, Claire.

They’re not like normal dogs.

They bite people.”

Leon and Alan Han’s reputations were barely salvaged.

After dealing with the zombie dogs, Leon wandered into the morgue and started pulling out the drawers one by one.

To protect the reputations of those two heartless men, Claire stayed at the door with Sherry.

One drawer contained a zombie, which Leon shot immediately.

Another held a red herb.

When he pulled out another drawer, he found the body of a man in a suit, something clutched in his hand.

Taking it out, it turned out to be a key.

Alan Han glanced at it and noted it would be very useful.

They needed to keep it safe.

“Leon, we should head back to the police station later.”

“Huh?

Why?”

“Remember those locked doors?

This key matches the symbols.

It should open them.”

“Right, that’s true.

Then we can also check on Marvin.

Hopefully he won’t be too surprised.”

Alan Han opened his mouth, then hesitated, unsure how to respond.

Just as they were about to leave, the corpse suddenly twitched and came back to life.

“Got some serious waking-up issues, huh?”

Leon muttered.

Alan Han immediately fired two shots, putting it down again.

After finishing their search, they moved along the nearest corner.

Charging straight through would just draw every zombie in the area.

After a while, they reached a shooting range.

There was a note on the table and a yellow box.

Alan Han opened the box.

Inside was a car key, just like the note mentioned.

It was damaged, but it could still open the trunk.

If he remembered correctly, there was a pistol stock inside.

Leon pocketed the key and moved to a door that required a special key.

Using the key taken from the corpse, he unlocked it and found a roll of film inside.

After searching, Alan Han pushed the door open and was immediately tackled by a zombie from the right.

“Get off me!”

He twisted his body and drove his elbow into the zombie’s head, then shoved it away and fired two shots into its skull.

Watching it collapse, Alan Han let out a small breath.

His reflexes in combat were definitely improving.

“Be careful.

It’s too dark here.

There could be something anywhere.”

Leon stepped closer to check and relaxed when he saw Alan Han hadn’t been bitten.

If Alan Han ended up like Marvin, Leon would feel terrible.

They continued deeper.

This time, when a zombie tried to ambush them, Alan Han anticipated it and blew its head off.

After picking up some ammo in the shooting range, they moved on.

They stopped in front of a metal door.

It looked like it needed a tool to open.

Leon knew he didn’t have it, so he turned to Alan Han and Claire.

Claire waved her hand.

Taking care of Sherry meant she hadn’t searched much.

Looks like it’s my turn.

Alan Han took out the tractor-key-like tool from his pouch, inserted it into the slot, and opened the door.

Inside, Leon found a box of electronic components, while Alan Han located the main power control panel.

After restoring power, the indicator light on the exit door changed from red to green.

As they stepped out of the equipment room, a zombie dog appeared in the fenced-off special equipment area nearby.

Drawn by their movement and light, it lunged toward them at full speed.

Fortunately, the fence held.

“Leon, I’ll take this one.

My shotgun works well on them.”

Leon nodded and stepped aside.

Better to let him gain more real combat experience while things were still manageable.

It would only get more dangerous from here.

Now, Alan Han took the lead.
