They watched as Marvin noticed them and started walking their way.

Alan Han handed the fuel to Claire, while he and Leon tightened their grip on their guns.

I want to send him off myself.”

Alan Han looked at Leon, then slowly put his gun away.

I wonder what you’re thinking right now… Leon.

He stepped back with Claire, leaving Leon to face Marvin alone.

This was the last meeting between two officers, once comrades, now enemies.

“Captain, I’ll stop all of this.

I promise.”

Leon took a deep breath and slowly raised his gun, aiming at Marvin’s head.

At the very moment Marvin lunged forward to bite.

Leon clenched his teeth and pulled the trigger.

The orange-red flash reflected in Leon’s eyes, and for a moment, he seemed lost.

A heavy thud followed.

Alan Han looked at Marvin’s motionless body and understood.

Almost all of Leon’s colleagues in the police station were gone.

Alan Han walked up beside Leon but said nothing.

Claire stood nearby, quietly holding Sherry’s hand, waiting for Leon to recover.

“Let’s go, Han.

We need to get out of the police station as soon as possible.”

“Got it.”

Before leaving, Alan Han placed the fuel, which was a bit of a nuisance to carry for now, on a table in the lobby, then rejoined the group.

The three adults and the child set out once again to escape the Raccoon City Police Station.

Relying on his memory, Alan Han led Leon and Claire to the second floor of the lobby, into the office where the Raccoon City guidebook had been, and then out into the corridor beyond it.

There was an iron door here that required that tractor-key-like tool to open.

As the door slowly lifted, they walked inside.

After a few steps, they spotted a staircase leading up to the third floor.

On the stairs, Leon noticed there was quite a bit of ammunition stored in the cabinets.

The three of them opened several and gathered some supplies.

After finishing the search, Alan Han opened the door on the right and went in first, with Claire following behind.

Inside was a storage area.

On top of a crate sat a gear, another key item.

Alan Han was starting to feel worn out.

The constant escape and searching had left him dizzy, and he was starving.

He weighed the gear in his hand.

It was barely manageable.

Then he glanced at a zombie not far away, growling as it tried to crawl toward him.

A sharp cracking sound rang out.

Alan Han brought the gear down hard onto the zombie’s head.

“Wow, this gear works pretty well.

Great for stress relief.”

“Han, let me try.”

Claire took the gear and smashed the zombie a few times with force.

“Hey, isn’t this a bit much for a kid to see?”

Alan Han turned to look beside him but didn’t see Sherry.

So she wasn’t with Claire after all.

“Hehe, I’ve been protecting Sherry the whole time and haven’t gotten to fight at all.

It’s been driving me crazy.”

After smashing the crawling zombie a couple more times, Claire finished it off with a shot.

That felt good.

Chances like this, with just one zombie and no boss, were rare.

Alan Han took the gear back and awkwardly secured it to his hip pouch, using the zipper to keep it from falling, then returned to Leon.

“Han, this door leads outside.”

Leon opened another door and gestured to him.

“And it’s pouring.”

They both sighed, but stepped out anyway.

“Claire, you and Sherry stay inside.

It’s raining.

Wouldn’t want Sherry catching a cold.”

Alan Han turned back to say this.

“Alright.

I’ll meet up with you somewhere else.”

Claire nodded and led Sherry down the stairs.

Alan Han had wanted to tell her to stay put, but knowing her personality, that was not going to happen.

Out in the rain, Leon prepared to climb down a nearby ladder.

“Hey, be careful, Leon.

That ladder doesn’t look very sturdy.”

Alan Han called out from above, remembering how badly Leon had fallen in the game.

“Got it, I’ll be careful.”

“Ah!”

Leon had only taken two steps when the section he was holding with his left hand snapped off.

The ladder jerked under the pull of gravity and his weight, then dropped away.

Luckily, Leon was ready.

He let go, landed, and rolled, barely avoiding injury.

“Damn… Hey, Han, what about you?”

Alan Han looked down at the height and hesitated.

He was a bit afraid of heights.

“Leon, have you ever caught someone mid-fall?”

Leon blinked.

“Yes!”

Hearing that, Alan Han tossed the gear down to Leon first, then sat on the edge, turning his body around so he could hold onto the wall.

He lowered himself a bit more, grabbing what remained of the ladder to reduce the drop.

“Then I’m counting on you.”

Leon kicked aside the broken ladder and signaled he was ready.

Alan Han pushed off the wall slightly, let go, and jumped down at an angle.

Leon stepped back, braced himself, and caught him.

The impact forced him back a few steps.

That was close.

Good thing nothing twisted, or it would have been a problem later.

“Thanks, Leon.

Good thing you didn’t slip.”

“If I had, you’d owe me a big medical bill.”

They shared a quick laugh.

“But we can’t go back the way we came.”

Leon looked up at the broken ladder, handed the gear back, and turned to move on.

After rounding a corner, Leon looked toward a spot on the right where flames were flickering.

“Is that the helicopter that crashed earlier?”

This seemed to be where the helicopter had taken the impact head-on.

Opposite its tail should be the back door where they had seen Claire earlier.

“We need to put out the fire.

Then we can get back.”

Alan Han warned him not to get too excited.

Even if they could go back, they would run into something far worse.

Using a nearby staircase, they made their way down to the outside of the boiler room.

They quickly cleared the zombies outside and opened a nearby water valve.

After that, they went into the boiler room to rest for a bit.

Being soaked through was miserable.

Alan Han sneezed.

Leon glanced back at him.

“Want to warm up by the helicopter fire?”

“Thanks, but I’d rather stay alive.”

They searched the boiler room for useful supplies and found a fancy key stuck to a whiteboard.

They exchanged a look.

With this, most of the doors in the station could be opened.

After finishing, they returned to the helicopter wreckage and turned a nearby handle, causing water to pour from the pipes above and extinguish the flames.

Once the fire was completely out, they quickly ducked into a nearby room.

They took out some herbs and ate them, feeling a bit warmer afterward.

Alan Han thought the herbs tasted like mint mixed with green tea, with a bitter aftertaste.

He had been fooled by Leon’s expression.

It tasted awful.

After that, Leon was about to squeeze through the gap near the tail of the helicopter when, unexpectedly, someone lifted the tail section straight up.

Black gloves.

A black trench coat.

A black hat.

A towering build even larger than the helicopter.

The Tyrant expressionlessly raised the tail high, jamming the helicopter into the wall and forcibly clearing a path.

Then it stepped toward them with a steady, rhythmic pace, accelerating as it came.

In the next moment, it threw a punch.

“Oh my God.”
