ADRIAN

In what felt like an instant, my shift at the Queen’s was over, and I breathed out a sigh of relief.

After saying my good-byes to myFull novel: Resisting The Mobster Boss (BL) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

colleagues, I walked over to the locker room to fetch my bag. The first thing I did was pick my phone, my hand hovering over Giovanni’s contact and I wondered if I should call him or not.

"Call me when you get off work I’ll come by to pick you." I mimicked the way he had said it earlier, rolling my eyes as I shoved my phone into my pocket without calling him.

"I Love Him, huh?" I scoffed, heat spread across my face as I tried so hard to hide my grin. It was stupid that he had to save his contract that way, but I didn’t know why I was blushing.

Something must be wrong with my head.

Exiting Queen’s, I was greeted by the evening’s gentle caress against my skin, and I breathed deeply, feeling alive again after hours of recycled air.

"It’s donut O’clock!" I exclaimed as I took out my phone and quickly placed my order.

Every evening after my shift at Queen’s, I buy donut from my favourite spot. It was like a ritual, ever since I started working at Queen’s I have never go a day without eating that donut after work.

It was like a treat after working for long hours nonstop.

Getting to the shop, I peeked inside to see a lot of people inside. Relief washed over me knowing I wouldn’t have meet any had I not placed my order.

I walked inside and headed straight to the woman selling it, her wrinkle face lit up the moment she saw me.

Not to brag, but that woman loves me and she always make sure to add an extra piece of donut to my order.

"It’s a long day, huh?" I grinned when she handed me my box, she looked stressed for some reason.

According to her, the shop belonged to her dead husband but in order to keep the legacy, she had to renovate it and turned the shop from flower shop to a pastry shop, which worked out in my favour.

"You have no idea," she said, attempting a British accent that sounded more caricature

than genuine, making me chuckle at her endearing efforts.

"Alright, take care of yourself and... Thanks for the extra piece." I said, blowing her a kiss as I turned around to leave.

"Bye, Kid."

"See ya morrow, ma’am." I waved at the old woman selling donut as I clutched tightly onto my donut box and left.

The street of Nexus Point was always crowded around this time of the day,

walking home was always an hassle during the evening.

Getting home, I didn’t waste any second before I tore the box open and devore the donut like I had been starving all day. Or maybe I was.

I hadn’t eaten anything apart from the smoothie I had earlier at Berry Hour.

"Dude, this donut will be the death of me." I moaned out as I shoved the last bite into my

mouth.

I got off the couch and walked over to the refrigerator to grab a drink. Correct me if I’m wrong, but orange juice with donut after a long day is something everyone should do.

After I emptied the whole bottle of orange juice, I went back to the couch to clear the table. I came back to grab my backpack off the floor and go get a shuteye of one hour before heading to Great Fisher, my phone buzzed and I checked to see it was a message from my Matt, my boss at Great Fisher.

"Say what now?" I hissed loudly, glaring at the message he had just sent to me.

"Really, Matt?" I scoffed, throwing my phone on the couch. "You’re really a dick, aren’t you?"

I should take the day off? Really? He really thought he had it worse yesterday, didn’t he?

He thought it was easy for me to have Giovanni fucking Marino parading me throughout today was better?

"I fucking hope this is not his way of saying

’you are fired’." I sighed, plunging into the couch to wallow in regret.

Should I have not asked Giovanni for help?

Should I have let those bastards have their way with me? Fuck!

"Life shouldn’t have been this complicated.

I really love working at Great Fisher. Except for those horny freaks." I groaned out, rubbing my eyes as I thought of what I should used my free hours to do.

I don’t usually stay in at night. My day had been planned out since I got the three jobs.

Wake up in the morning and clock in at Berry Hour. Go to Queen Palace from there.

Come home for a quick change after the end of my shift at Queen’s and heads to Great Fisher.

Come straight home after the day’s work at Great Fisher and sleep. Now that I had extra hours on my free hours, I didn’t seem to know what to do with it.

"Should I just sleep?" I thought to myself, I was about to retire to bed at 7:45 when a soft knock came on the door.

"Adrian?" That was Carlos.

"Hey, buddy!" I grinned, rushed over to get the door for him.

Talk about perfect timing!

"Woah, what’s the occasion?" I smirked, stepped aside for him to enter before closing the door behind me.

Carlos stood in the middle of my small living room, his face was adorned in a light makeup that fit him perfectly. Carlos don’t usually do pass mascara and blush, unless he’s going out for get-together or school at school.

He wore a black leather pants that clung tightly to his lower half like a second skin.

His black lace top did nothing to hide his chest.

"Um," Carlos cleared his throat, dragging my gaze back to his face. I smiled, pulling him to come seat on the couch.

"You’re not preparing for work?" He asked, looking at me from head to toe.

"No." I said, shaking my head. "I’m having a day off?"

Carlos looked at me in a way that said to drop the lie. "Day off? Is that even a thing at a bar?"

I barked out a laugh. "Apparently so. Matt think I need a day off to get my shit together."

"Whatever that was." Carlos mumbled, rubbing his hands together nervously.

I wondered what was wrong with him.

"Need a drink?"

"No. I’m okay." Carlos was quick to reject my offer. I gave him a hard look that said to spill the tea, his cheeks pinked and he dragged his bottom lip between his teeth.

"There’s this game night at the college, and I’m wondering if you could come with me." He wouldn’t look at me as he said those

words.

Carlos seemed nervous to ask me to a game night and I wondered why. This won’t be the first time I would follow him out to his school party or stuff. "When are we leaving?"

His face lit up and he almost jumped on me in excitement. "You really want to go?"

"Now you’re being weird. Don’t tell me you have been thinking I would decline, were you?" I asked, faking a gasp.

Carlos chuckled and smacked my chest playfully. "That’s not it. I thought you might want to stay in on your day off."

"Like heck I am. Thanks for inviting me, I was really bored." I said, standing up from the couch.

"So, um," Carlos cleared his throat, his eyes dropped to my chest for a second before moving his eyes back to my face. "We could leave now if you’re ready."

"Sure, give me a few minutes to get dress." I told him, bent over to grab my backpack.

"There’s no dress code or whatever, right?"

"Not at all. Just throw something on." He called out after me before I could disappear into my bedroom.

After rummaging through my closer for what feels like five minutes, I finally settled for a black pants and a red long sleeve shirt.

I had a quick shower and put on my clothes.

I didn’t have enough time to look in the mirror but call me cocky but I always looked good in everything.

"Did you order for a ride?" I asked as I walked into my living room to see Carlos standing by the door, his eyes lit up the moment he saw he making my way over to

him.

"Yes, I already did. The driver is outside." He said, in less than five seconds he looked between my feet, my crotch and my eyes.

Ignoring the way he was acting nervous like this was our first time going out today. I pocketed my phone and said. "Alright, let’s go."

"You look good." Carlos blurted out the moment we stepped outside. "You always look good in red."

Not just red but everything. But I’m never going to say that. Carlos had low self-esteem so that won’t look good on him.

I turned around and gave him a cocky grin.

"Oh, says the guy who’s rocking the perfect outfit. I bet no one would match your sexiness tonight."

His face turned red and oh God, the dude is super gorgeous. "You think I’m sexy?"

"Have you look at you?" I said, fanning my face in exaggeration.

"Thank you." He said, grinning like he had just got served his favourite snack.

We entered into the car and throughout the ride, Carlos had his hands wrapped around my arm as if I was going to disappear if he let go.

"Here we are." He announced the moment the car came to a halt. We stepped out of the car and I had my eyes fixed on a big house that could be used for a movie set.

"Doesn’t seem like there’s a party going on in there." I pointed out, craning my neck to stare at Carl who seemed to be having a second thought about going in there.

Is he really okay?

"It’s an indoor game night." He mumbled, wrapping his hand around my arm. I didn’t say anything, he would tell me if anything was wrong with him.

"I’m nervous." Carlos blurted out as we walked into the house.

I rubbed my hand over his hand wrapped around my arm. "Why are you nervous? I’m here with you."

"Thank you..." He was still staying when a couple of college folks walked in from a back door, sweating and smelling like sex and alcohol.

"Hey, Cally baby!" A girl waved at Carlos, she walked over to us leaving her group behind.

Carlos slowly let go of my arm, turning to welcome the girl. "Hi, Zarah. Hi, Tom."

The girl, Zarah, wrapped him in her embrace and I felt my face lit up with a smile. Carlos must have been her friend and I was fucking happy that he has friends in college.

I always worried he was alone at school.

Guess I had been worried over nothing.

"Who’s this sexy guy with you?" The girl, Zarah disengaged from the hug and turned around to face me.

"Oh, sorry." Carlos chuckled, taking my hand and pressed his palm on my chest.

"This is Adrian..." He said with so much energy that I wondered if this was the same guy who said he was nervous a while ago.

"He’s... Um, my boyfriend."

I whipped my head in his direction the moment the word "boyfriend" escaped his mouth.

Excuse me?!
