ADRIAN
Two things I loved the most today, if you take out the surprise kiss I got from Giovanni Marino earlier, what I loved was that we were having a good business today, and most of the customers were those who knew nothing about makeup.
I loved helping new people get familiar with the colorful world of makeup. I always loved the delightful look they always pulled on whenever I showed them that there were more to makeup than just mascara and lipstick.
This guy that was with me right now, Dave, came here to get makeup for his girlfriend as a gift and he knew little to nothing about makeup.
He had been following me around the store for the past thirty minutes as I showed him different things he could get for his girlfriend and she would love it.
Dave seemed to have loved everything I showed to him, but he didn’t know his girlfriend’s skin type which I found it cute.
"Believe me, I know she’s very cute and adorable but I knew nothing about colour type, skin number and all the rest you have been asking." Dave had said with an embarrassment smile.
He seemed to have loved everything but didn’t know where to start from. I made it easier for him by telling him to go check around the store if he would see anyone who’s skin matched his girlfriend.
"You. You have the same colour, texture and all that." He said to me, and that was fucking dope because I already know just what I would get for him.
After picking up several stuff, I had to use some on my face for him to confirm if it was something he was hoping for.
"This looks exactly like what I had envisioned." He chuckled and I couldn’t help the smile that crept up my face.
"So, are you getting all of the makeup I tested or you’re going with few?" I asked, turning around to face him.
Dave didn’t have to think about it because he said. "Everything. I’m taking everything."
Just kill me right now because what in the name of happy customer service this I just witnessed?
"Your girlfriend is lucky to have you." I said with a smile as I helped him with the makeup he had picked.
"I’m the one who’s lucky to meet her. You should meet my girlfriend, she’s everything I have ever prayed for." He beamed and I had to smile at her.
Dave was pretty much smitten with his girlfriend and I fucking love stuff like this, it made me want to cry at how beautiful love can be.
"Alright, Dave," I said, clearing my throat.
"You see that lady over there," I said, pointing at our cashier. "Go to her, you’re her customer now. My service is done."

"Thanks, buddy." Dave shook my hand before walking away to check his stuff check.
I walked around the aisle, looking for any other person I could help before my shift come to an end. When it didn’t look like there was anyone else who needed help, I turned around to see Giovanni Marino, standing there like a Hollywood star.
"Oh God, please kill me." I whispered as I drank him in. Giovanni was wearing a black tux that fitted him like the cost was carved and made just for him.
"How could I have not noticed this morning?" I wonder aloud, taking my bottom lip into my
•mouth and nibbled on it.
"Hey," I said, walking over to him. Giovanni seemed to be checking me out as well as I wanted to hide my face, forgetting I had a horrible makeup on.
"This is for you." He handed me a box of donut from my favourite shop and I wished I could just kiss him right now.

"Thank you." I said regardless, even though Giovanni had insisted he didn’t got the donut for me but just giving it to me out of act of service.
I watched him walked over to the door and all I could door was to get to the backroom and go eat the fuck out of the donut.
For the first time, I wasn’t really mad this man had ran a background check on me.
Walking back to the aisle, I found Dave, he was already standing there, looking like a lost puppy.
"Hey, Dave?" I called out to him, more like a question. "Is everything alright?"
"Oh, yes. Yes." He chuckled, walking over to me. "I’m sorry I didn’t help you pull out the makeup I made you wear." He added, taking out a facial wipes from the pack he had picked out earlier.
’It’s really alright, Dave. I’m glad you’re able to see what vou like." I said, smiling.
"Then what about your makeup? You want to leave it like that?" He asked, and I considered it. It seemed as though helping me e pull off the makeup would make Dave feel he didn’t owe me anything.
I nodded, totally understand him. "Sure.
Thanks for helping." I chuckled as I moved closer, giving him enough access to wipe the makeup off.
His fingers brushed gently against my cheeks and I loved how soft his fingers was. Dave was good with his hands, making me wonder just what the type of work he do.
"What the hell?!" The unmistakable voice of Giovanni Marino yelled from the entrance, I gently pulled away from Dave to check what was going on.
I was taken aback when Giovanni marched over to where I was standing, grabbed Dave by his throat and threw him against a shelf.
"Aaah!" Dave groaned out in pain when he landed roughly on the marble floor.
"The fuck is going on Giovanni?" I demanded, pushed over to where he was hovering over Dave and made to force him away from Dave but Giovanni didn’t budge, he hit Dave on his face over and over again.
"There’s a thug beating a customer over there." A voice yelled and I heard footsteps of the shoppers, running around the store.
"Let’s get out of here." Another voice yelled out, making my eyes burnt with tears.
"Since when did thug come in here?" Voice of an elderly woman could be heard as the sound of door opening and closing reached my ears.
"Oh God, I don’t want to get beaten up like that." Came a tiny voice.
Shame caught up with me as I watched Dave groaning in pain underneath Giovanni as he beat the fuck out of him.
Giovanni was beating someone because of me.
Not because I asked him, but because he thought I was been assaulted by Dave.
Another business day had been ruined by me and it made me fucking mad. Even though I understand have of what Giovanni did was because of me, I still couldn’t help it but got pissed that he did it without consulting me.
"The next time you lay your filthy hands on my boyfriend, I’ll break that hand and feed it to the dog." Giovanni threatened as he got off Dave.
He came to stand in front of me, a maniac smile plastered on his face as he wiped his bloodied thumb over his face, smearing
Dave’s blood on his forehead.
"Come with me." Giovanni said, he made to hold my hand but I slapped his hand off.
"Adrian?" He called my name for the first time, and I felt like shit as I looked around, seeing my coworkers staring at me with cold, disdain look on their faces.
They must be disappointed in me. First, for bringing a thug into the store and making him beat a customer who just raised my sales.
Second, the bastard thug had just called himself my boyfriend and they must have found me disgusting for dating a lowlife thug.
"Adrian..." Giovanni made to move closer to me but I backed away. The donut box dropping from my hand
"I said ’act like my boyfriend’ for just five minutes, not ’act like my fucking husband’ for the rest of your life!" I half-yelled, my fingers curled into a tight fist as I glared hard at Giovanni.
Glovanni Marino blinked slowly, taking his time to register every detail of my expression into his damn memory, as if he hadn’t expected me to get mad at him for beating a defenses less man to a musk.
"I don’t see a big difference between the two." Giovanni argued, closing the gap between us and cape to stand in front of me.
"Oh, for fuck sake! You’re a thug, but surely you’re not dumb, are you? Do you not know when to stop?" I scoffed, my anger growing thicker. My chest heaving as I stared at him with hatred.
First, he had cost me my Job at the Great Fisher, and now here.

"Sadly, I don’t seem to know what ’stop’ means. You made the sound of being someone’s boyfriend sound so great now I don’t think I wanna stop." Giovanni said, he tried to take my hand but I moved away, shaking my head at him.
"Get out of this place, and don’t let me ever see your stupid face ever again." I barked, curled my fingers into a tight fist as I rushed out of the store. Leaving Giovanni, my bag, my job and every other things behind.
I’m so fucking done with that damn thug.
