GIOVANNI
Waking up to the sound of my alarm blaring angrily into my ears like a bitch. I groaned, picked the source of the noise and I was about to throw it away when I realized it was my phone.
"Fuck!" I groaned, gripping the phone tightly and I was afraid I might actually break it it 1 didn’t let go.
"Why the fuck did I even set the alarm!" I barked angrily as I tossed on the bed. I now laid on my back, eyes glaring up at the white ceiling.
I moved my phone up to my face to see that the time was just 5:30 in the morning.
"That bastard!" I hissed, tossing my phone to one side before getting off the bed. I had almost forgotten that I had set up alarm to wake me up every morning just in time to get ready to pick Adrian up for work.
"What am I? His personal chauffeur?" I sneered angrily, picked up my pants and threw them on.
I walked over to the window and parted the curtains, letting the morning ray cascading down into my bedroom.
Staring down at the city from my window, I couldn’t help the anger that surge through me as I remember Adrian’s last words to me the
previous evening.
’Get out of this place, and don’t let me ever see your stupid face ever again." Really?
I scoffed, shut back the curtains as just the sight of the city was enough to make want to burn down the penthouse. Just what the fuck did he think of me?
"Fucking bastard son of a fucking gun!" I gritted my teeth, rage ignited fury inside of me as I sauntered over to my bed and grabbed my phone.
Taking the steps two at a time, I walked over to my kitchen to prepare myself a cup of coffee. Perhaps I would feel a lot better after that.
The image of that bastard who was touching Adrian in an inappropriate way flashed through my vision and I tightened my grip on the mug, the hotness from the mug burned my palm but I didn’t let go.
I was so fucking angry right now that I couldn’t even feel the pain.
"How dare him? How fucking dare him to touch what belongs to me?!" I growled angrily, hurling the mug against the wall and the shattering sound of broken ceramic filled the room.
The kitchen door pushed open, and heavy footsteps echoed behind me.
"Boss!" Dominic gasped out my name, rushing over to where I was standing.
I couldn’t say anything, all I do was stand there and stared down at the broken ceramic that littered the ground right beside my foot.
Anger covered my whole body like a blanket and the urge to punch something was so strong that if I remain in the same space as Domic, I might actually take out my anger on him.
Turning around to face him, the terrific look on my face made him stepped back a little.
Sighing, I said. "Clear the ceramic and make me a cup of coffee."
"Yes boss!" Dominic said, giving me a curt bow before setting up for work.
I walked out of the kitchen, heading straight to the gym. All I wanted was to keep myself busy so I wouldn’t think of that bastard, and what he had said to me, but it was so hard not to remember.
"I should have just killed him that night." I hissed out loudly, glaring hard at my exercise bike.
Working out when I was angry was one thing I didn’t see myself doing. So instead of getting on the bike, I turned around and entered into the smaller room at the far end of the long hall.
Iloved reading!
Reading was my therapy, and right now, I fucking need a therapy.
I entered into my mini library, and then shut the door behind me. I could have just bolted the door but I remembered having order Dominic to bring me a cup of coffee.
I flipped the light on and my eyes scanned the room. The ethereal aesthetic of my books on the shelves made my anger died down.
For the first time in twenty hours, I felt at peace.
"What should I read?" I asked aloud, clearing my throat as I walked straight to the empty shelf at the far end of my library.
I remembered having bought a new set of books from my favourite store and work had been hectic that I hadn’t even had a chance to set them up.
"I could do with this." I said, dropping my phone on the study and headed for the unopened box right at the foot of the shelf.
"’Let’s see what we got here." I sighed, lowered myself on the cold marble floor to start unboxing.
The sound of ripping box calmed my nerves and I moaned out happily. I fucking loved this.
I loved my alone time at the library without having to worry about the outside world.
"Babies!" I let out, my face lighted up with an unprovoked smile as I stared down at my new books. The smell of new books could melt a frozen heart.
My eyes landed on a book with a colourful cover and I picked it up from the box. I could just binge read the book and read it whenever I was free.
Five seconds later, I found myself dumping the book right back into the box as the door opened and Dominic walked in.
"Boss..." He was trying to announce his presence when I craned my neck to face him, my eyebrows shot up angrily as I grabbed a fistful of my hair.
I was trying to forget about Adrian, but it seemed like that little shit had his way of getting under my skin even when he wasn’t here with me.
His name was the first thing I saw on the book name and I already hated the character that beared the name even though I hadn’t gotten past the first paragraph.
"Bastard!" I cursed out angrily, my hands curled into a tight fists on my thighs.
"Boss? I, um..."’ He paused, holding tightly onto the mug.
I had my gaze strained on him but I wasn’t even seeing him. The little smirk on Adrian’s face as he told me to never show my face to him ever again was all I could see.
Dominic took a bold step forward, his body tensed up as I stood before me, his head held high.
"We’ve got a lead on Diego, boss. He’s planning to run away from the money he got paid from selling our drugs, sir." He announced, his jaw set as he gently lower his head.
Diego? I would have been interested in this information had. Dominic walked in a little early.
"I have a question." I said, blinking severally as I stared at him.
Dominic straightened up a little as if that was necessary, I watched his Adam’s apple bobbed as he slowly said. "Yes, yes. I’m listening, boss."
"What does it mean to hate someone so much but still want to have them?" I groaned out, cracking my knuckles as I wondered what Adrian was doing right now.
Dominic struggled for words. "I... I think you like them..."
"Wrong!" I growled, clenching my teeth as blood rushed over my ears. "I don’t like Adrian. I hate him."
How could I possibly like a stupid boy like
Adrian?
"Ah, em.. Okay?" Dominic said, placing my coffee beside me on the floor.
I grabbed the coffee, smirking as I stared into the mug: "I think I should just kill him."
