Call me stupid because I think I deserved it.
Even though I had cursed at Giovanni and told him off never to come see me again, I still half
expected to see him leaning against his car when I walk out of my door this morning.
The disappointment I felt when I walked out of my apartment this morning and there was no Giovanni Marino waiting for me made.
That made me wish I hadn’t yelled at him like that.
Maybe I was really stupid for feeling disappointed when Giovanni had clearly done exactly what I had asked of him.
Throughout my shift at the Berry Hour, I was looking out of the door every time someone walked in, hoping it would be Giovanni Marino.
But he never came, same thing when I was working my shift at the Queen’s. If I had known I wouldn’t lose me job at the cosmetic shop, maybe I wouldn’t have reacted that way towards Giovanni.
I groaned, hissing as I restocked the beer. "He didn’t even put up a fight. He just stopped coming as if he had been wanting to stop coming."
Idiot. Why should he put up a fight when you literally chased him away?
My subconscious growled in discontent, triggering a physical response. I clenched my jaw, capturing my lower lip between my teeth, the gentle bite a manifestation of my inner turmoil.
I hissed very loudly as I delivered beer to a group of jocks that had came to celebrate their wins tonight. I didn’t even care to know their story.
’’Make sure you don’t drink pass your limit." I said to the men as I walked away from their table.
I had never noticed working at the Great Fisher to be this peaceful before. I would have gone to the restroom to clean myself at least twice since I clocked in.
I noticed the thugs that had always chased after me were extra quiet tonight and I wondered if it was because they were having bad night or because Giovanni had served a warning through one of them.
’That bastard." I cursed under my breath, walking back to the bar. "How could he just stopped pestering me after helping me?"
I mean, I didn’t even understand. Why would he even introduced himself to both Grace and Tobi as my boyfriend when he wouldn’t even keep to his claim?
"Hey?" Someone said, calling out to my notice before I bumped into them.
I hastily looked up to see Noah grinning at me with his hands filled with empty bottles.
Groaning, I mumbled. "Hey, Noah."
Noah went to discard the bottles in his hands before coming back to stand beside me at the bar. His eyebrows drew together as we both stared at the full house we were having tonight.
"I guess it finally worked in your favor, huh?"
He said, smiling.
Having not know what he was talking about, I turned my gaze to stare at him. "What’s working in my favor?"
Noah shrugged off his shoulders. "Those bastards over there," he said, pointing at a table at a corner that had my abusers on it.
"They are absurdly quiet tonight. Giovanni Marino must have hit that guy really bad."
Noah chuckled when he pointed to the jerk Giovanni had beaten to a pulp. He had a bandage wrapped around his head and I sneered.
"Never noticed he came tonight." I smirked, smiling at the ugly bandage he had on.
It would have been better if he broke his legs as well. Maybe that would remind him everytime he sees me never to think of sticking his stupid dick in my ass.
Noah nudge me with his shoulder and grinned. "Oh, dear. You should have seen him when he got in, he looked scared."
"That serves him right." I said with a smile. I was still smirking when the idiot turned in my direction, our eyes met for a brief seconds before he looked away.
"Right." Noah nodded, throwing his hands inside his pockets. "Your boyfriend is really scary, no doubt he’s even scared to look this way."
"Giovanni Marino is not my boyfriend." I groaned, glaring at Noah.
I didn’t even know what gave all of them the idea that Giovanni was my boyfriend. I mean, they could have just guessed that all of this was just a favour.
"Oh, say that to my ass." Noah smirked, fixing his studs. I automatically moved my hand to my ears, and it was only then I remember I wasn’t putting on studs today.
All thanks to a certain person that occupied my mind leaving no space behind.
"Not funny." I hissed, shoving Noah lightly.
We watched the Jocks leave the bar and i heaved a sigh of relief. Guess I won’t have to make unnecessary phone calls to some jocks guardians tonight.
"T-Jay is playing tonight." Noah said, and I had my head snapped in his direction at once.
"Really?!" I gasped, my lips curved into a smile.
Tyler Hanson, T-Jay was a popular gay singer and my favourite. I had been listening to his music ever since he came out about seven years ago. I became his fan when I heard his story through one of his radio show when I was in middle school and I couldn’t be more sad to finally know what it felt like to be abandoned by your own family after the same thing happened to me three years ago.
It was as if I could finally connect with him in a way that no one else will.
"Yeah." Noah grinned. I raised my eyebrows in question, wondering how he got to know because he was never a T-Jay fan.
"Woah." Noah laughed, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Before you ask I didn’t stalk your all-time favourite artist on social, okay?"
"Hmm?" I grinned, crossing my arms over my chest.
Noah groaned out. "Really. I just overheard someone said T-Jay would be playing at our hangout club tonight."
"Thanks to the person who said it." I smiled, giving Noah a look that said I know he was hiding something.
"You don’t believe me?" He asked, as if he was offended.
I shook my head, giving him a polite smile.
"Oh, baby I do believe you."
"Want to go!"’ He threw another question my way. Noah looked somehow desperate about this and even though I would not want to miss T-Jay’s show for anything, I would never say no to my friends.
"Fuck yes. I’m almost done here anyways." I said, pointing at his wristwatch for him to see I only have a few minutes left on my shift.
Noah could leave anytime he want because he was only helping Matt out since Matt was his uncle and they lived together.
"We could go together." Noah said, beaming happily.
"Huh? Isn’t today your sweet little Angela’s birthday?" I asked, still feeling confused as to why Noah would want to spend tonight out when he could spend it with his girlfriend who just became a full adult.
Immediately I said that, Noah’s expression turned cold and I noticed the redness in his
eyes.
"Don’t remind me." He scoffed angrily, rubbing his arms. "We broke up."

"Fuck. I’m so sorry about that." I said, biting down on my lower lip.
I wasn’t an asshole to remind someone of their ex lovers. I wouldn’t have said something like that if I had known about it beforehand.
"It’s okay." Noah sighed, forcing out a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "I think I need a night out after work."
I nodded instantly, giving him the I understand your point look. "Of course, let’s get shitface at T-Jay’s show."
• We watched a group of men walked in and Noah was quick to pick his note.
"Hope you won’t mind bringing someone who isn’t your boyfriend to your fave artist show?"
He asked before walking out to get the men settled in.
"Be my boyfriend tonight then." I grinned, winking at him.
Noah laughed, raising his hand to wave me off. "No way in hell I’m looking for Giovanni Marino’s trouble."
Groaning, I yelled after him. "I hate you."
"Well, you don’t." Noah smirked and I laughed.
My boyfriend, hmm?
I mean, if Giovanni didn’t have a bad blood with my father it wouldn’t be bad if I date him for real, right?
