Akhil’s entire body froze when he saw her.
“Why is my luck so bad?”
He cried inwardly.
He stepped forward and greeted her awkwardly.
“Hello, Mam.”
Divya felt exasperated.
Why did he always call her ‘Madam’.
When she saw him walking along the street, she immediately accelerated to intercept him without thinking.
She gave a short nod and said.
“Don’t call me ‘Mam’.
I don’t think I’m old enough to be called ‘Mam’.”
She paused and added.
“You can call me Divya.”
Akhil hesitated.
“This… I don’t think it is appropriate.”
Divya replied with a nonchalant expression.
“When I ask you to do something, just do it.”
Akhil’s expression changed and he let out a heavy sigh.
He locked his gaze with her and said.
“Divya.”
Divya smiled, her smile softening her features.
“Good.”
She nodded her head in satisfaction and asked him.
“Are you off from college?”
“Yes.”
There was a brief pause.
Neither of them knew what to say.
The atmosphere around them turned awkward.
Akhil couldn’t stand the awkward atmosphere, and tried to come up with an excuse to escape.
But before he could, Divya spoke softly.
“I planned on going to the supermarket.
Do you want to come along?”
Akhil couldn’t believe what he just heard.
His mind filled questions that had no answers.
He froze in disbelief and immediately took a step back, creating some distance between them.
What Rajesh said echoed inside his head, and he took a deep breath.
“Mam.
I know I should not say this.
But aren’t you acting a bit too familiar with me?”
His face was full of suspicion.
He truly did not know what she needed from him.
He glanced at her face, thought inwardly.
“Could it be that she has fallen in love with me.”
He shook his head and immediately dismissed the thought.
“What a joke.
This isn’t some manga where female lead falls in love at first sight with the male lead.”
This thought felt ridiculous.
Why did she ask him out?
She did not know.
Whatever thoughts were going through her head, she kept her expression calm and composed.
She answered with a nonchalant air.
“I just thought of repaying you.
You helped me by showing me around the campus.
So, I decided to buy you something you like from the super market.”
Her explanation seemed plausible.
But Akhil still felt that something was off.
But when he taught about the ice cream and chocolate, his determination wavered.
“How good it would be if I eat some ice cream.”
“But she seemed a little bit off to me.”
“How could I possibly trust her?”
“But ice cream… it’s not something I eat every day.”
His mind churned with doubts, but ultimately, the ice cream won over his warnings.
Divya watched his hesitated expression as he struggled to decide whether to go or not.
She thought inwardly.
“He’s so cute.”
She watched with some amusement.
He looked up and asked her with a solemn expression.
“What is your budget?”
Divya laughed loudly, clutching her stomach.
Completely disregarding her previous demeanor.
The passerby who glanced at her were completely stunned.
They all thought,
“What a beautiful lady.”
They glanced at boy standing with her.
Their eyes held a mixture of envy, jealousy and resentment.
“What a lucky bastard.”
They clicked their tongues in envy and departed in defeat.
Meanwhile, Akhil was once again mesmerized by her beauty.
He stared blankly and thought.
“She is truly beautiful.”
After laughing, Divya saw him staring blankly at her.
She felt surge of pleasure inwardly.
She asked with disbelief and amusement lingering on her face.
“Seriously.
Don’t you know it’s rude to ask someone their budget when they are treating you.”
She continued.
“Don’t worry about money.
I’m rich.
You can buy as much as you want.”
Akhil lowered his head in embarrassment.
“Ahh… in my excitement I actually asked her the question I definitely shouldn’t have.”
Divya called him out,
“Get in the car.”
Akhil quickly entered the car.
Then the car departed along the buzzing streets.
There was a man who watched the entire scene from his car.
He thought bitterly.
“How many times have I asked her out?”
“But she always rejected me.”
“Now, she is going out with some college student.”
“How am I inferior to that bastard.”
“How dare he go after the women I set my sights on?”
“I’ll make his life hell.”
His thoughts grew uglier by the second.
The man took his phone and dialed a number.
The phone rang twice before the call was answered.
“Yes, sir.
Is there anything I can help you with?”
The voice on the other end carried respect and flattery.
“Send me the list of students from Velammal Engineering College.”
“I think his identity card was blue and yellow.
Send me the list immediately.”
On the other end, the voice paused, and the scribbling of pen could be heard.
“Don’t worry, sir.
We’ll get it done.”
“Mm.”
The call ended.
The man let out a huff.
“That brat.
I’ll show him what happens when he offends someone he shouldn’t have offended.”
Meanwhile, Akhil and Divya drove into the supermarket parking lot.
They entered the supermarket.
It was much bigger than Akhil had expected.
The supermarket was fully air-conditioned, with AC vents stretching from one corner to another.
They were lot of sections that arranged meticulously.
Akhil and Divya walked toward the freezer, where a variety of ice creams were neatly arranged.
Akhil fixed his gaze on the freezer and pondered for a long moment.
“She said she was rich.”
“So, she doesn’t mind if I took two ice creams, does she?”
He pointed toward two ice cream and asked.
“Could you please buy me those two ice creams?”
She nodded and said as a matter-of-factly.
“If you want, you can choose more.”
Akhil’s eyes brightened.
Then they dimmed, and he gritted his teeth as he declined.
“No.”
He could not possibly take advantage of her kindness.
He said with a lot of willpower.
“This is more than enough.”
His gaze remained fixed on the ice creams in the freezer, but a flash a pain passed through his eyes.
“Any more would be bad for my teeth.”
Divya chuckled and shook her head.
She never gets tired of watching him.
With that, they left the supermarket.
