This camellia wasn’t a particularly valuable variety, but cultivating a camellia in the north wasn’t an easy task either.

“Can you make it a bit cheaper?”

Wei Lihua felt that even if camellias weren’t well-suited to the northern climate, with today’s advanced technology, this camellia shouldn’t be too expensive.Full novel: Returning Home to Farm with a Portable Space — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“If you want it, it’s fifteen hundred. If not, you can look elsewhere!”

The shopkeeper was growing impatient. If it weren’t for the fact that Wei Lihua seemed genuinely interested in buying, he definitely wouldn’t waste his time with her. His time was precious, after all.

Especially now, when there were no other customers—otherwise, he wouldn’t be haggling with her here.

“Can you do twelve hundred?”

Wei Lihua wasn’t blind to the shopkeeper’s impatience, but she wanted to buy this flower. His annoyed looks and impatience—she simply pretended not to notice.

“Fine, if you like it, I’ll sell it to you for twelve hundred!”

The shopkeeper waved his hand dismissively. Although he wouldn’t make much profit at twelve hundred, at least he’d still earn something. Twelve hundred it was.

“Thank you, boss!”

After paying, Wei Lihua noticed some withered branches near the shop entrance.

“Boss, are these withered branches of any use to you? If not, could I have them?”

Truthfully, Wei Lihua wasn’t sure if the Space could revive those things, but since they were free, it was worth a try.

“They’re free, take them. Saves me the trouble of throwing them in the trash later.”

The shopkeeper glanced at the withered branches by the shop and replied indifferently.

Hearing this, Wei Lihua picked up the camellia with one hand and the plastic bag containing the withered branches with the other, then turned and left.

Actually, Wei Lihua would have liked to buy some prettier flowers, but the more beautiful they were, the more expensive they became.

She didn’t have that much money, and being able to buy the camellia she liked was already enough to satisfy her.

If she wanted those other flowers, she could always plant them herself when she returned home.

Carrying the camellia made walking a bit inconvenient, but with so many people around, she didn’t dare to put the items in her Space.

The camellia was different from seeds—seeds took up very little space, but the camellia was too conspicuous. Besides, if someone accidentally saw her, she might be exposed and dragged away. She certainly didn’t want to risk her life.

Only when she found a secluded spot did she finally put everything into the Space, leaving only her phone in her hand.

Her wallet and other items were all stored in the Space.

After putting everything away, Wei Lihua checked the time and realized it was already four in the afternoon.

Thinking about her severely depleted wallet and the fact that she still had to live here for a while, she decided she’d have to cook dinner herself tonight.

And she couldn’t spend too much money—if something came up, she’d still have to rely on her family.

She didn’t want to trouble her family too much, so she’d just have porridge tonight!

It would be a good chance to lose some weight, and besides, the lotus seeds in the Space were excellent.

Tonight, she could make red date and lotus seed porridge. Even if the red dates weren’t from the Space, as long as she used lotus seeds and water from the Space, she was sure the porridge would taste pretty good.

Just thinking about the lotus seeds in the Space made Wei Lihua’s mouth water.

Wiping away nonexistent drool, Wei Lihua decided to head straight home.

She had her own pickled side dishes at home, and there were also red dates and such, so there was no need to buy anything.

After eating, she still had to go into the Space to plant vegetables. If there was nothing else to do, she might as well go home!

After all, wandering around outside would cost money, while going home and planting vegetables earlier meant she could sell them sooner.

Once back home, Wei Lihua lay down on the bed and sighed contentedly.

“Lying in bed really is the most comfortable!”

But considering she had work to do in the evening, Wei Lihua decided to cook first, soaking the red dates and rice.

She then turned and entered the Space, heading to the lotus pond to pick lotus seedpods.

After preparing the lotus seeds, she left the Space. Although she loved the air inside the Space, there were still things to do outside, so she had no choice but to leave.

Once she had the porridge simmering, she returned to the Space.

The time ratio between the Space and the outside world was so large that by the time she finished handling some tasks, the red date and lotus seed porridge outside would be ready to eat. In truth, Wei Lihua would have preferred to cook the porridge inside the Space, but there was no electricity there, so she had to give up on that idea.

Once she had enough money, she was determined to install several solar-powered generators in the Space.

Given how miraculous the Space was, she believed it should be possible to set up a few solar-powered generators there.

She also planned to arrange a small nest inside the Space so she could find opportunities to rest there.

That way, she would have even more time.

Well, now wasn’t the time to think about these things.

What she needed to do now was plant those vegetables and such, which was no simple task.

Digging holes and planting vegetables, especially with the large amount of vegetable seeds she had bought—who knew how long it would take? Besides, it had been a long time since she had worked the land.

Her movements were rusty, and she had no idea how long she would drag it out.

But the Spring Water in the Space could relieve fatigue, so she believed she could manage.

Even though she thought this way, she wasn’t entirely confident.

After all, it had been years since she had done any labor, and she hadn’t exercised much either. Even though she had been transformed by the Space Water the day before yesterday, she still didn’t have much confidence.

But regardless of whether she was confident or not, what she needed to do now was dig holes and plant vegetables.

Wei Lihua felt that her body was in pretty good shape after being cleansed and refined, but after planting vegetables for a long time, her back still couldn’t quite handle it. After persisting for over an hour, she went to the Spring Water, scooped up a mouthful, and drank it.

After drinking the water, she felt her body return to its initial state, so she continued planting vegetables.

After all, in one hour, she had only managed to plant one-fifth of the area. The empty land was about four or five mu, and she had planted one mu in over an hour—her efficiency was pitifully low.

But even so, Wei Lihua felt quite satisfied.

If it were before, forget one mu, even half a mu would have been a struggle.

And so, whenever Wei Lihua felt tired, she would go drink water, and once she recovered, she would continue planting vegetables.

After planting all the vegetables in the fields, Wei Lihua rubbed her sore lower back.

She felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction, even though her stamina was far less than before.

But compared to ordinary people, she was still quite capable.

Five or six hours had passed, and Wei Lihua felt her stomach growling.

She washed her hands in the stream, then turned and left the Space.

When she caught the aroma of red date and lotus seed porridge from the electric rice cooker in the kitchen, she felt even hungrier.

What Wei Lihua didn’t know was that ever since her porridge started boiling, many people nearby had smelled its fragrance.

Quite a few wondered what could be so fragrant, but since their building was full of rental units where neighbors hardly knew each other, those curious eventually gave up searching for the source of the scent.

Otherwise, it was hard to say whether Wei Lihua’s porridge would have remained untouched!

When Wei Lihua opened the rice cooker, her hunger intensified.

She took a spoon and tasted the porridge. Finding it ready to eat, she directly lifted out the inner pot, grabbed a small spoon, and began eating while blowing on each mouthful.

By the time Wei Lihua came to her senses, she saw that the entire pot of red date and lotus seed porridge had been completely finished.

Wei Lihua sat there, rubbing her round, full belly.

She let out a contented sigh.

“Now this is living!”

Wei Lihua couldn’t help but exclaim with satisfaction.

Thinking that she could enjoy such delicious food from now on, her heart felt even more fulfilled.

She was also increasingly grateful to heaven—if not for such good fortune, she wouldn’t have obtained this Space, right?

Once she felt her stomach wasn’t so bloated anymore, she finally stood up to wash the pot.

Fortunately, there was no one else in the house; otherwise, after seeing how much she ate, people would surely call her a glutton.

She had finished an entire pot of porridge all by herself, and she was perfectly fine.

Even a grown man probably couldn’t have eaten as much as she did. After all, a full electric rice cooker of porridge was really a lot—if sold by weight, it would be over three pounds.

She really didn’t know where she put it all. Even though she had worked for five or six hours, she shouldn’t have been able to eat that much. Back when she used to work at home, no matter how hungry she was, she never ate that much.

From now on, she really shouldn’t eat so much, no matter how delicious it was. She couldn’t just keep stuffing herself.

If she really overate and got sick, that would be troublesome. Besides, she’d have plenty of chances to eat in the future, right?

But thinking about how delicious the things in the Space were, she really wanted to eat a little more. If only her stomach weren’t completely full, she probably wouldn’t have stopped eating. And she believed the vegetables from the Space wouldn’t disappoint her in the future.

That way, when she sold the vegetables, her chances of making money would be even greater.

Even if she went back home to develop her business later, she’d probably have enough capital by then.

Well, better go to sleep for now. By tomorrow morning, the bok choy and other greens should have grown.

She could probably start selling vegetables tomorrow, but she didn’t know the market prices for them.

Moreover, by then she would need to prepare a lot of things. Not to mention anything else, just the electronic scale and some convenient bags had to be ready.

Otherwise, when selling vegetables later, she wouldn’t know whether people would buy them or not.

Tomorrow, she really had to wake up early. Otherwise, if she couldn’t get up on time, she would miss a whole day of vegetable sales.

On the morning of the second day, Wei Lihua finished washing up early and started cooking red date and lotus seed porridge in the rice cooker again.

This was perfect timing for her to go into the Space to harvest vegetables while the porridge was cooking. She hoped the Space wouldn’t disappoint her.

At this moment, Wei Lihua felt a bit excited.

Although she had mentally prepared herself for the situation in the Space, she hadn’t expected this.

After entering the Space, what she saw was a field full of vegetables.

As for bok choy and the like, they were already grown enough to be eaten.

And their robust appearance astonished Wei Lihua, a country girl.

The lush green vegetable leaves had not a single insect bite, and when brought close to the nose, she could even smell the fresh fragrance of the bok choy.

It seemed today’s vegetables should sell well, but she wasn’t sure whether people would buy them after seeing the appearance of the bok choy.

After all, nowadays, when it comes to growing vegetables, not to mention spraying pesticides, many people even directly inject chemicals into the roots.

And her vegetables looked so perfect—many people would probably be concerned about that!
